  • 4500 battery so many functions.. :(

Is 4500mA battery bad? According to aida64 my phone has a 3300mA battery. According to Google my work phone the iPhone X has a 2716mA battery. My girlfriends Samsung S9 has a 3000mA battery.

The Google Pixel 6 has a 4614mA battery so having a 4500 mA battery sounds like a pro to me. The screen is much less detailed than the Samsung S9 and the CPU is weaker so it should last for a lot longer.

iPhone usually have smaller batteries than their android counterparts.

Right now my personal phone lasts 5-7hrs between charges & my iPhone lasts a couple days. The standby battery on iOS is excellent.

@Agret: iOS is much better optimised so they are usually superior in battery tests.

I'm in android guy but that's a fact.

            • @Click_It: iOS is a single tasking system. Of course it's conserving more battery. You don't have to "optimise" much when you don't have to do as much.

And A-series AP is much more powerful so they can run at lower frequency for better efficiency. Again iOS doesn't have to optimise anything. That's just how physics works. You run at 20% lower frequency, you can save 30%+ power or ~10%+ energy.

              • @dotJaz: Also, iOS isn't running Java

          • @Agret: Yes, because iOS is effectively a single (user) task system. Don't need to use as much battery if nothing is running.

      • bigger bang when the battery explodes

    Not a bargain.

You may be looking at TCL 20 5G pricing rather than TCL 20 Pro 5G

$800 at BIGW, $827 at Vodafone

Harvey even have the non-pro for $500 right now

        • Mind sharing some please…

@[Deactivated]: So a whole lotta nothing, no facts, just opinions. Nothing to back up your definitive conclusion - "there are better value options". Not a single model within the $400~$600 range. Nice.

              • @dotJaz: No I agree with them, you can get Samsung A52s for this price which is way superior in most aspects.

                • @BigDaddy365: that $500 plastic is a farcry from build wise though

    • Proof please?

      • I reckon Samsung A52s.

I personally refuse to buy any phone that does not come with a proper proximity sensor.

Of all the things you can cut corners with… removing the one thing that is going to prevent me from properly using my phone as a phone is the kind of dick move I only expect from dirt cheap Xiaomis.

          • @HigoChumbo: This phone doesn't deactivate the screen while holding the phone to your ear? Really? I find that hard to believe

        • Has MicroSD and headphone jack at least, no wireless charging however

  • Is this dual sim?

I bought this phone when it first come out last year.
It was $800 including a free 42" tv on pre order.
The phone has been great and surprisingly it is quick
Yes smaller processor, But also has a lot less rubbish running in the background. And no built cr#p apps.
Wireless charging, Duel sim or you can use sd card for extra storage.Has a 3.5mm headphone jack
Battery last well over a day still, with moderate usage, A lot longer than my on Samsung Note 10.
Also has a button on left side you can custom program. Have drop few time and still not cracked screen.
My biggest grip is when you go to where all your apps are you can not place them in group folder..
Also the volume button on the left is always set for media. you can change to to ring volume like Samsung..
My reason for buy was it was a great looking phone, 5G, Sd card, and price. My attitude was $800 if i don't like i just something else, instead of anther $1800 For Samsung.
Over all Phone much better than expected, and yes i will look at the new due out later this year
This the first time i seen it discount, New one due out are June/July

    • My biggest grip is when you go to where all your apps are you can not place them in group folder..

Easy fix since this is an Android phone. Open Play Store and download another launcher that supports this feature.

    • My partner and I just bought these phones (bought 1, used the voucher to buy the second one, so brought it down to 548 each with a $100 card left over) - I've set up both of our phones.

I have mine set to have all apps shown across swipe-able pages, which does allows the creation of folders.
She has her set up to have just her select apps on the pages then to swipe up from the bottom for all apps, which does not allow folders in the same way as above, but you can adjust what segments they are in by using the + symbol, so that you can kind of make folders.

Essentially, if you change the style of app display you can have folders with the default launcher.

  • A lot more expensive than deals in Europe for some reason.

This is going for 310-350 euros on discount over there (450-500 aud, and that's taking into account that thanks to Mr.Putin we have the shittiest currency exchange in ages).

One of the very few models with dual band GPS (useful in the CBD or if you live in the forest), though keep in mind that it only has security updates until June 2023. Not ideal for a phone this price. 60fps screen is kind of a boomer specially for this money, but not a deal breaker.

Not the most amazing deal, but I guess it's good enough if you can put that 100$ gift card to good use.

  • Price match at OW?

    • They won't match gift card.

      • Just spent 3h inside a HN store. Nothing there worth spending 100 bucks. Have done worse: Wasted more hours on Kogan's website and only found cheap phone plans!

        • Check out their hot deals web page, sometime they have.

  • I have a TCL Pro 10 and a TCL 65" TV. Love them both!!!! Great value for money.
