  • The deal i've been waiting for! Cheers Luke :)

  • would the 12400f bottleneck the 3080? And would u guys recommend getting a better cooler than the cpu cooler for this build?

  • This or 5600x deal?

Also will there be any delay in shipping?

    • This will have better out box performance.

Some might say you have a better upgrade path for productivity with AM4. But you wouldn't run a 5950x on a low end B550 board anyway. Best to get the Intel system dollar for dollar.

    • Sorry would you mind linking the 5600x deal?

      • 5600X deal is expired, only the 5600 at the description for the same price.

        • Though so, thats all I could fine. Kinda wished I jumped on the 5600x 6080.

If your looking at getting one of these, please change the motherboard. Gigabyte B660M DS3H is horrible, specially if going for the i7 upgrade.

    • how does it compare to the msi mag b660m they have

      • MSI board is much better

    • Does it catch on fire? 🔥🔥🔥

    • Im a noob to PCs but how does the motherboard affect it?

      • +1

I have the same question as well. If I go for 12400F, do I need to upgrade the motherboard?

  • Hi Luke. Are you able to get MSI Pro B660M-A with better VRM? It is around $30 more than DS3H on RRP.

  • Can see a 6800XT on pcpartpicker for around $1317, any reason why someone would go with the 3080 over 6800XT. 6800XT appears to have heaps more vram (16gb vs 10gb) so thinking it may be better long term but i guess Nvdia has a few more features that AMD don’t have on their cards.

    • RTX 3080 outperforms RX 6800 XT in 4k and vice versa in 2k. Depends on what res are you running at but overall Nvidia has more features than AMD such ray tracing and DLSS.

  • Anybody have any recommendations for a good mini ITX motherboard that's compatible with the new 12th gen intel CPUs?
Looking to build an i7 12700KF with 3080 in the NR200P Max case.

Preferably DDR4 compatible as DDR5 memory is way too expensive for the performance currently.

  • +1

Would be nice to point out for less savvy buyers that anyone going for the i7 upgrade should also go for motherboard upgrade, because the Gigabyte B660M DS3H will throttle the 12700F CPU
(though pointing a fan directly at its VRM may recover most of the lost performance)

  • End of ETH mining has been delayed for a few months again, expecting GPU price to stay high for a bit longer. Distributer and retailer might hike up the price when the news spreads out. 3080 and higher end card might be even higher priced, since rumored Intel Ark can only achieve 3070/3070ti performance.

    I5 or 5600 deal?

  • Anyone know if not activating windows stops you from using your PC? or is it more of an annoyance? I just cant justify the (Microsoft Windows 10 Home Activation (+$169.00)) Would love a good old ozbargin on a key!!

    • -1

Check out softwareg.com.au, activation code for Windows 10 pro is $9

      • Just had a look at that website, it's $19.99. Unless you mean buy the Win 7 key for $9 and use it for Win 10 (if they still allow that)

  • Dumb question. 2x8gb ram reflected on OS as 16 or 8gb? On my old pc 2x4gb in parallel shows as 4gb. Not 8gb!

    • Is your Windows 32bit? 32bit windows only supports max of 4GB ram

      • Not, that 64 bit windows 10

        • +1

Then try put single stick one at a time confirm both sticks works; then swap both sticks' position to make sure motherboard is fine; then if there are four slots on the board, check if your ram is single rank or dual rank, if they are single rank, check your motherboard manual to see how to install single rank ram.

  • Thank you for reply. I'm confused that my OS recognised both RAM sticks, it shows as OK, but summary is as 4gb, I thought that because it's in 2 different channels, there is 4 slots in 2 channels. Manual recommended to use 1 - 3 slots if its used two sticks, but not recommended to use 2 - 4. Or I can use 1 - 2 slots but it will reduce summary RAM speed.
Probable it's why recognised as 4gb.
My question is what size will be on offered PC.

  • Afterpay PLS Luke. I can't do zip pay

  • hey @luke do you have any 3080ti cards on a good deal or 3080ti rigs with 12900k>?

    cheers

    • Not at the moment. 3080 Ti vs regular price is pretty nuts and there’s no room to negotiate on them because supply is not there

  • Hi @luke would like another high-end rig with the i9 & 3080 like you did last month. Any possibility of this coming up?

    • Will look at it for the end of the month sure

      • Any updates on this high end option?

        • Just posted an i5 version, looking at other combos still

  • H Luke, may I know if the Z690 Tomahawk WiFi upgrades available? as i couldnt find it on the website. Thanks heaps!

      Back now!

  • Does the motherboard support bluetooth? I would need this to connect my PS4 controller for some games. Is it standard that all motherboards come with bluetooth these days or do I need to check?

    • Oh I just realized bluetooth is a wifi card thing and it does come with the 2nd wifi card.

  • Hi, Luke which brand's card I gonna get? I want to order i7 version with 3080

    • Gigabyte is most likely as they're inbound.

  • Hi

I’m looking for a new PC and was wondering if this is a good buy? I’m not so tech savvy with these machines, hence why I ask you fine folk for your honest opinions about this deal and if I should purchase or be patient for now.

    Currently I’m running a GeForce GTX 1070 /w ryzen 5 1600 af running on a 34-inch monitor @ 1440P & 144Hz.

    Thank you in advance

  • Hi Luke, just a quick question. Wondering whether it is ok to change to PSU with Corsair RMx (2021) if I order this build? Thank you so much!!!!!

    • +1

You can modify your build after receiving it, the only thing to be aware of is that if that modification has a wider impact on the PC, in the event of a warranty claim, the warranty may be affected. In other words, fiddle and muck up and we can't warrant what was mucked up that we didn't do.
