  • good price but i prefer my Dell E248WFP 24" :P which i got for about the same price 2 weeks back ^_^

  • Well this is EVEN cheaper than E248WFP. The brightness is only 300 cd/m2 and it does not do 1920x1200. Funny that the title of the product page reads "Dell S2409W Full HD Monitor". I think they might need to fix that :) Most HD movie are in 16x9 anyway…

    • 1920x1080 / 16:9 is full HD. am i missing something?

      • No. I think I have been misled to think that 1920x1200 is full HD. Sorry my bad.

  • Agree the 248WFP is a bit better, but I missed that deal. Not missing this one.

Almost bought a 2nd hand Acer for $240 yesterday so pretty happy with this deal.

Sure there are better monitors, but bang for buck this is hard to beat.

    • Almost bought a 2nd hand Acer for $240 yesterday

      +1 after I read that.

  • Johnforeplay I agree that at least in television terms 1920x1080 is full HD (Samsung, Sony, Philips, etc LCD TV's do that resolution and are FULL HD)

This monitor is actually shaped like a TV, hence the 1920x1080 I believe

  • 1920 x 1080 is full HD, and this monitor would actually be better for HD movies which are encoded 16:9 than a monitor that is 16:10.

I missed the earlier Dell deal and I am going to be taking advantage of this one.

  • What's the NRMA/EPP discount? I must've missed that one.

If you are a uni student or work for a number of employers who have Dell deals (eg. NAB, Westpac, Telstra)

  • Depend on what you main usage, this could be a better monitor as it has HDMI.
Also the design looks pretty sleek compare to the 248WFP .

    • Does the 1920 x 1080 mean smaller panel compared with the 1920 x 1080 for E248WFP?

  • You can also use this coupon to get 20% off :)

    RS7S3VM5RVJS3Q

The coupon works on any monitor but you have to order it from the small business site. It wont work on the home sales section.

    • Is individual eligible to order from the small business site? Or there is certain requirement? I remembered that I purchased a DELL laptop from the small business site several years ago when I was in Japan.

    • Thats great! That makes it $255 (even less with moneybackco)

      • What does the invoice look like? Ok for tax return of individuals?

    • this should be a deal in itself if it works

      • Well I've ordered one, so it works up until that point :) (Used moneybackco too)

        • I've gone impulse as well and bought it - the 20% off sealed the deal. Really didn't need the upgrade, but who can pass up a bargain? :)

    • RS7S3VM5RVJS3Q = Associations - 20% Off Ultrasharp Monitors & Laser Printers

  • I should have made my own bargain post on the main page for 20% off all monitors :D Someone else can do it if they wish :)

    • definitely YES. I'll vote a +.

  • Hi GerrardLFC,
Can I ask which organisation is the 20% coupon for?
    Thank You Very Much,
    Roberta

    • I'm also wondering if it's restricted in some way like EPP/NRMA is, because nowadays they have become much stricter with checking people's legibility for the discounts…

  • Fantastic deal, I've been wanting one of these for use with the XBOX 360..the code posted above for 20% off works for a total cost of $255, very nice!

  • GerrardLFC YOU ARE A LEGEND!!!!

  • I would order this dell screen with the 20% of discount, but I down a business so therfore I cant use it. I think I will just use the nrma discount for it.

    • I ordered two monitors from Dell's small business section in the last year and I don't own a business…

      • Were the invoices for tax return of individuals?

        • They were in my name and weren't claimed on tax

  • nice! can you use the 10% NRMA/EPP on top of that 20% small business coupon?

    • Aluka

You can only use either the NRMA/EPP 10% offer

      OR

      The small business 20% offer

The small business is obviously the best way to go

  • $255 that's a great deal.Thanks to jfdubos and GerrardLFC.

  • Thanks guys!!!! ordered one

  • Thanks heaps!! just bought 6 —- ready for x'mas pressies :)

  • just ordered two, my two 22" looked a bit small ;-P

  • I was trying to buy one but the 20% coupon didn't seem to work. It gave this message:

The following coupons entered does not meet eligibility requirements. Click "View Details" link(s) for more information.

Associations - 20% Off Ultrasharp Monitors & Laser Printers

Anyone knows if it's been adjusted?

    • You need to enter via the small business portal not private. Otherwise the code will not work, that may be your problem.

      • Thanks Pete, I just found my way there. Goood deal

  • This is a Quickbooks discount code, not just business, so beware the Dell can reverse the order.

  • Oh well, I just pulled the trigger on one using the 20% small business code. Getting it delivered to my work address and using my work email anyway. Only problem is, I know our IT dept get a lot of stuff from Dell so hopefully they don't ring them and query the payment method.

    • We use Dell exclusively at work as well. Just be very careful as it might end up in your manager's desk :)

  • Damn… looks like it's expired!

"We're sorry, the coupon code you have entered has already expired or has reached the maximum redemption limit."

    • D'oh. Maybe zfcwjc bought the last one :) Since this code is also on Whirlpool and other forums, don't expect it to last very long :(

    • Worked for me just now.

  • Just bought one this afternoon. thanks guys

  • Just ordered one and another test order. hehe..cos i choose the wrong payment method and couldn't figure out how to change method so i just sent a message to Dell customer support telling them to cancel the first order and that i had already created another order with the correct payment method. yeah, so the vouchers should still be working(as of 9:30pm AEST). Cant wait for this lil' beauty to arrive :)

  • Just ordered one. Cheers for the deal! I went to home > monitors and thought it didn't work, and thought i missed this awesome deal..But luckily I read the whole thing..:)

Still working as of 06/10 10:23pm AEST

  • Got it working! No idea what happened before… but I'm a happy lad now! :)

  • Just ordered two as well. Really appreciate you guys sharing this one. :-)

  • Just wondering how long after peoples orders where their credit cards debited? I ordered at around 16:00WST but nothing has gone through yet. I know I'm being impatient, but I'm really hanging out to see the order confirmation email [got the order acknowledged one instantly].

    • I'm wondering about it too. I ordered yesterday about the same time and still my CC hasn't been charged yet. No order confirmation either, just the acknowledged one.

      • The check status page wasn't working for me before, but it's now working with my reference number and email. It says "Your order have been received by Dell and will be processed once payment information are verified."

        • Looks like my CC transaction has gone through today. I guess everyone who ordered on the weekend got theirs sorted out rather quickly but come Monday when the rest of us jumped on, the order processing slowed down a bit. No biggie, I'm in no rush, just good to see a positive sign.

No update on the order status page though, still says: "Current Status: Your order have been received by Dell and will be processed once payment information are verified."

          Will keep my fingers crossed.

          • @yamumma: Current Status: Ship From Factory
            Estimate Delivery Date: 15-Oct-2008

            Yay!

            I'm in Perth btw.

        • Ordered on the 7th and it was delivered today. It's a very nice upgrade from my 5 year old 19", that's for sure!

  • Ordered qty 2 on Saturday 5th Oct

Received ack email from Dell 5th Oct

Checked my order using Internet Reference Number: and email address
    and I get:

    06-Oct-2008 Order Received
    06-Oct-2008 Order released to manufacturing
    06-Oct-2008 Ship from Factory
    07-Oct-2008 Dispatch to Local Courier
    Estimate Delivery Date: 14-Oct-2008

    09-Oct-2008 Arrived!

  • umm.. sorry to bring bad news to anyone who's undecided on getting one of these.. but word is that the code is NO longer valid, and yes, i've checked, it no longer works. well..it was great while it lasted and oh yea.. I'VE GOT ONE ON THE WAY! haha…sorry to rub it in folks :P

    • Yeah, just did a test order and it appears the code is not working anymore.

  • Can anyone confirm they get the MBC 3% cashback on the $255.18 price after using the Small Business 20% Association discount?

    • Buckscoop worked.

  • I have 3 on the way - all are tracking in MoneyBackCo at the moment. From painful experience I suspect we will get the money back from Dell, but it will take ~6 months.

The 1 ordered on Saturday will be delivered Monday. Friday and Tuesday's orders do not have ETA's yet.

  • BTW - The coupon is still working, at least for 27" monitors - bear in mind you must use the SMALL BUSINESS part of the Dell web site……

    • yes,only for "ultrasharp" monitors.

  • Ordered saturday received Wednesday - with long w'end included - thanks for the heads up. (and second email arrived after the monitor)

Central Coast NSW - Mcard payment

  • The code is dead but you can still get the $80 off
And use the EPP 10% discount coupon

Only thing is you have to login through the Home user section of the Dell site
(EPP codes won't work in the small business section)

  • Bought on Monday and arrived today, fantastic monitor, thanks all for this great post! wish i ordered more.

    • This is quick, I bought on last Saturday, and the estimated delivery date is 13th.

    • Just out of curiosity, which city are you in and by which method of payment did you use?

  • SOMEONES SAID 319 IS THE LIST PRICE, WE CAN GET 20% OFF AS WELL. BUT I RANG DELL, THE STAFF TOLD ME THAT ONLY QUICKEN CUSTOMER CAN GET THAT 20%OFF, CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH THIS

    THANKS
    FIONA

    • No, this offer actually was a mistake and is no longer available on this monitor. You can however go through the normal home website and if you are a Auto club member get 10% off. Approx $287.

      • BUT WHY THEY DISCUESS ABOVE THAT THEY GOT THE 20% OFF BY USING THE CODE RS7S3VM5RVJS3Q

        • Because the code used to work on this specific model and Dell does not verify whether you are a QuickBook user. Lucky for those who have used the code and grabbed a bargain. However the EPP and autoclub codes still work so the price is probably the cheapest 24" LCD at the moment.

Don't think it's going to last very long as AUD now sits on $0.66-$0.67 USD…

  • THANKS ANYWAY, SO WHAT'S THE EPP and autoclub codes FOR THIS MONITOR, THANKS

    FIONA

    • I have updated the Dell store profile page with links to EPP code and coupon code for autoclub members. Note that Dell might ring you up to verify whether you are eligible for these offers.

Also be easy on the Caps Lock…

  • TTMCWCGJFMQ499

THISA CODE FOR EPP DOESN'T WORK AS WELL, HOW COME?

  • Just wondering if others who ordered on Tuesday have received their monitors. I've ordered on Tuesday morning, but haven't received the monitor nor have I received any other updates than the very first email.

  • My Tuesday order is being delivered Tuesday next week - they called around 11am today.

    • Hey GWH, Thanks for that. It's a great news. I will patiently wait a bit longer. I may have missed their call today. Thanks!

      • I just checked my voicemail, it was from reception: "We have two boxes from Dell for you. Please come and pick it up". Unfortunately, they have gone home.. I have to wait till monday. No emails from Dell yet, but looks like they have been delivered.

  • Received my Monitor today around 4pm from courier. Very impressed. Really puts my old 15" CRT to shame :D

  • Just got mine.

Monday 4:00PM WST - Placed Order
Thursday X:XXPM WST - CC Debit & Order Processed
Monday 10:30AM WST - Delivery to Perth

Pretty happy with that, estimated delivery was Wednesday 15th.

Gonna set it up next to my work 2407 for comparisons.

  • Hi,
I've got to agree - too late again!!
Anyone know of any other 24" or bigger monitors with free delivery at around A$300 each?
I worked out the above 24" monitor is $499 with cash off $150 plus postage from $49 up puts the price outside what I want to pay. I do however like the 3 year warranty Dell gives on each of their monitors.
