    Got my tablet this morning, ordered 9pm 23rd, the only thing is I am existing customer but I have a separate account for this, i.e. the 30gb is not added to my current data pool!

    Anyone else with the same issue?

    • Take this with a grain of salt as it came from CS, but I was told that all orders for this product/service will be processed as "new orders". I put in my order on 23/4 as an upgrade to an existing service, only for it to be converted to a new order on 25/4, which has pushed me back to the end of a far queue.

    • Unless all your plans are the new upfront direct debit plans they wont share data with this plan.

      • i know asked they update old plan under same terms so i could data pool. they said its possible but wanted to do an internal credit check and ask for my ID again via chat so declined for now as i dont trust them and im worried that the credit check would appear on external file too

  • I’ve put an email address I no longer have access to. Ordered 10.30am and only received a text with order no. ending with A. Does anyone know if I need to call up optus to chase up? However I’m also worried about order getting cancelled after calling up - according to previous post. Currently the app shows my order as pending submitted and chat is unavailable (error). Seems like an error due to being a previous optus customer. Any recommendations?

  • Got an e-mail from Optus this morning saying the tablet is on its way for my 2nd order which was placed around 11AM on the 25th. Still unable to track the delivery on the StarTrack website.

    First order which was placed around 11:30PM on the 23rd never progressed from being a temporary order.

    Ordered 128gb on 25th around 2pm and got shipping notification this morning. Pays to be patient and not hound support after 3 hours 🤷🏻

    It seems like Optus trying to fulfill the order on 24th and 25th now. I also received email about shipping information but no sms yet. Btw I ordered on 24th.

    • I ordered 23rd but was given a temporary order number. They eventually processed it on the 28th. Hope they still have stock by then. Painful long wait

    • Also ordered on the 23rd here at 9:30pm and I still haven't progressed beyond the 'submitted'status on the app sadly. Seems like everyone who got in late is being prioritized over earlier orders.

        Seems like the 64GB version is actually out of stock at the moment and the people who are getting delivery updates are those who ordered the 128GB version.

        • That would make sense. Hopefully the 64GB version will be restocked soon enough so we can all stop checking this thread religiously.

          • @XVX: I feel you right. I’ve been checking to see if people are still receiving it. Did you check with chat bot on your delivery status? Mine is still not ready for delivery. How sad

            • @Kahbo: Yeah I have been checking it on the chat bot and just keep getting the same response telling me that it hasn't left the warehouse and they might be awaiting more stock.

              I just tried a human through the chat and they sent me this: "Thanks for the wait and sorry for the delay. I have checked and found that your order for Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 is currently in back order. It normally only takes 1-5 business days but its been really popular so currently have stock shortage with the Tablet. We apologize for the delay and inconvenience it may caused. Rest assured that we’ll send you the Tablet as soon as stock become available. You’ll have a longer wait than usual, but we’ll keep you updated."

        • Just got the 64GB one, ordered at 8:40pm 23/04, received shipping details on 28/04.

      I ordered on 24th before noon and it's a 64GB version.

      Everything remains unchanged in app. Still 'Submitted' status. No email and no sms about any updates.

      Nothing is locked, apart from prepaid devices. It has been like that for probably 12 years at least.

    Ordered on 24/04 got confirmed email. Waiting and waiting. Chat with Optus support and they said order got canceled with no reason provided…

    • Tried my luck with another sales rep and it looks like I’m back on track. Ordered confirm, out of stock, escalates and now waiting for tracking number.

    Same here ordered 24th in the morning, not heard anything from them. A StarTrack truck pulled up and I got excited but it was just a dell rucksack I ordered weeks ago :(

        I contacted them via the app last week and they said I would receive it by 2nd May but I got the feeling the guy was just fobbing me off… which is true as I haven't had any notifications.

  • bought 64G on 24/4 1am, got delivery number in app on 2/5,received 10am today. device and sim card together, locate in Melbourne, had old account with Optus of inactive prepaid service.

    Ordered 64GB on 24/4 @ 5.30am. Startracking finally has the tracking number (after always showing it could not find tracking number) and shows dispatched to be delivered today (in Syd). For those still waiting, don't lose hope.

    I ordered on 23 and 24the and got the Order number ending with A. Nothing so far. Called 3-4 times and every time I was told that in 2 days.

    Final call today and they said there is no stock and they are not expecting anytime soon. It could be 2 weeks or 6 months.

    I asked them to cancel and reverse the check check they made on my credit file. It has gone down due to optus credit check. They said they cant reverse it and its as per the contract. I probably will have to take it further with the authorities.

    Yeah, they asked me if I would want my other number and numbers used by family ported over to Optus. Lol.. what a bunch of jokers.

      They did the same to me, I managed to get them to admit that orders are processed in chronological order and mine was out of stock when I placed it. Yet I have proof of people who ordered after me that received theirs so clearly it wasn't out of stock when I ordered. Told them to escalate my case to a higher level and threatened ombudsman since they are clearly not following Optus policies and aren't upholding their end of the contract. They asked me to not go ombudsman and will instead lodge my case with the same team that will deal with it if the ombudsman was involved. Told them they have a week to find me a solution or I'm going to the Ombudsman without notice. I have proof of every convo and (profanity) around they've given me. I'll bring them to their knees.

    I ordered 5am 24/4 and got an order ending with A straight away (& I have never been an Optus customer). I ordered 3 of 64GBs for me, wife and mum in 1 single order.

    Then a week gone by, had no hope so didn't bother to contact anyone at Optus.

    Then suddenly received sms a day ago saying it's shipped along with new mobile number comes with it. All 3 were processed at the same time, with different mobile numbers. StarTrack didn't see anything at that time though.

    So today I check again and it shows Onboard for delivery!

    Hope these info help - patience is the game.
    (I reloaded this page like 100 times to see how everyone went)

    OMG Their chat experts are 🤬 useless!!

    I'm just going to forget about it for now and if it happens it happens… but jeez what a mess their setup is. I can't believe how badly these big telcos are run.

            Apparently I am still waiting for a SAP number or something which will then give me a tracking number… should get that within 24/48 hours. Crazy.

            Not sure I believe any of it, they just issue them out randomly by the sounds of things.

  • Need help! My credit score reduced by 140 points due to optus. Never seen such step fall before. Is it permanent or just for time being while the order is being established? Is it possible to restore 140 points?

    • I also faced the same situation. As far as I know, Its kind of permanent ( for 5 years). Happy to be corrected.

      Feeling very annoyed - lost the points for noting. We need to take this up with the authorities.

      Don't sweat about the score. Yours will become lower if you aren't making money for THEM.

          nah, it's 5 years per enquiry that certain companies use. Afterpay, optus, telstra, bank records but banks are more interested in real data you provide not some bullplop data collater.

      You would think by now Optus should've trained all the chat staff to provide a standard answer to all the enquiries so we don't end up with different stories with different chat staff. My order was placed 24/04 11am and I was told another batch of stock is arriving soon and I should definitely get the tracking number this week.

  • Optus system is a mess or it's screwed by all Ozbargainers for this deal.
    I ordered on 25th and got order confirmation with A in few minutes. I thought that I am late and reading all the comments here I was having strong FOMO…. and was in doubt that my order will go-through as it was showing OOS. Chat support didn't helped either to gain any confidence that order will be delivered.

    On 30th, one of my many browser cart was having this added, so even though it was OOS, the order went through (created a new account with my partner's details). I got order confirmation with anew order number with A in few minutes. I was very surprised that I was able to place order at the first place, and to ADD MORE to that the order date and time is exactly same to my first order (placed on 24th). I was damn sure that this will surely be cancelled.

    To my surprise, I got shipping confirmation for both of my orders today. Waiting for the delivery
    I only need 1 tablet, not sure what to do with the 2nd one.

        There would probably have been thousands sold. 2 out of a thousand is 0.2% which is a really low failure rate for electronics.
