Same deal as Jan 2022, new 20% off coupon code. Note that the higher spec 12900KF/3090 for $5249 from Jan 2022 is out of stock but if it comes back, it's in scope for the same 20% off deal.

Make sure you read the comments and see the GN video before buying. Plenty of warnings about the potential issues with performance/heat management, build quality and limited upgradeability in the future due to proprietary parts

Original Coupon Deal

Update: Yes I'm aware this is not a great deal despite it being heavily upvoted 3 months ago when it was listed at this price point given recent GPU price drops and the GN ("tech jesus" for those who don't follow) video. I am happy to keep this deal live because it still does provide an indicator of 'deal price' history, and also acts as a bit of a yardstick when comparing other deals whether from boutique builders or the likes of Dell/HP/etc. But no, I do not plan to close my account.

ewww an actual spinning drive, wow no thanks

Tech Jesus released Part 1 video of how badly made these are: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DY1dlVPzUVo

Part 2 about how bad thermals are due to the poor design is expected tomorrow or day after.

    DO NOT BUY!

When looking at their sold history, this time 20% off hasn't even sold a single one at all, guess with the GPU prices are down so much, their AW seems to be very expensive and not much a deal anymore

    • Agree. I bought the same in the 8940 desktop variety for $3149 with 1TB SSD. But now they are all too expensive. You can build a system very close if not better and save yourself $1000.

    Thanks OP, got 5

Is this the one that GN just reviewed?

Edit: Not quite. The one GN reviewed had a 12900KF and a 3090.

    • +3

Same product model, but GN's review model had a 3090 and 12900KF in it…

  • +1

I purchased this and returned it after the led lights didn't function as intended… You would think the price be cheaper but it's still the same…

    • You didn't listen to the hundreds of warnings about buying dell prebuilt pcs?

      • -1

Oh I do.. I'm technical skilled… But these led was a major software issue which I'm not proficient in…

  • +3

Is dell on drugs? Didn’t they know the GPU price drop?

    • +1

You're paying the engineers that designed that case. It costs a lot of money to avoid retooling you know :)

  • +3

    750w for a 12700 KF + 3080Ti build…. what a joke.. let alone the price

    • 750W will be ok for Alienware…as we both know, they will limit your performance….

  • +1

    thanks but no thanks

  • +3

Those cases are faster to heat up than my air fryer (one I purchased from ozbargain).

Also that RRP is probably a year+ old, when GPUs were harrrrd to get.

    • +2

Is the temperature stable in the Dell case? Have your tried a low and slow brisket?

      • +2

Once you load your spatchcock onto the rotisserie, it's weight is enough to slow a 120mm fan down to ensure an even browning

    • +1

At least you don't have to use a heater this winter.

      • But every December the portal to hell opens when you run cyberpunk and Satan's spawn come frolic for a winter vacation in Perth.

      • You actually do. All the heat the PC case should be dumping into the room stays inside the case and cooks the components.

        • Keep the cover open

Here's the DIY version of the build for around $3700 AUD. Includes overpriced Windows 10 operating system that you can treat as "system building fee". Note I couldn't find any 2 * 8GB DDR5 DIMMS so this is only single channel in the list.

    • +4

That's not equivalent. You don't have a proprietary Dell motherboard and case :P

  • +2

Sorry. Bad price. I had a better spec than this for $3.4k (Non LHR and i9) from Dell.

  • +2

Is this compatible with K-fee pods or just Nespresso?

  • +1

Just garbage particularly with GPU price drops

  • Run away

  • +1

According to dealbot about the current Dell ebay 20%: "This will be your last opportunity to pick up an item at the current prices as they will be increasing for the next promo in May as a result of the Chinese supply chain issues."

So if we all think these AW all damn bad deals, Dell are going backwards and will make this even worst prices in the future, good luck to Dell that only their diehard fans will waste cash on these AW …

  • I don't mean to be rude but this post should be deleted, we don't want to encourage people to buy this garbage. If you're not confident building your own PC Scorptec or PC Case Gear have similar options for about $4000 ready to ship that won't thermal throttle & are fully upgradable.

Honestly I just saw the deal from earlier this year had 52 upvotes with 0 downvotes, and given it's same price, I reposted it… amazing how the tides have changed.

Either way, I've added a warning to the original post. I think it's still worthwhile as it does show price history (which is a useful aspect of OzBargain), and it's still a "deal" for someone who wants this particular Alienware system even if it's not considered to be a great PC by the community.

jace88 should just delete his account and create a new one at this stage lol

  • Awful price, awful machine.

  • +1

512gb ssd for that price lol

    • Ikr, I built a machine for just over 3k and it has 64gb RAM and 2x 1tb Gen 4 m.2 drives.
Much better cooling and a 12700k (I prefer this to the kf)

  • ha i built one with similar price. but what i got is fare more advanced than this… especialy for the AIO…what i can get is 360mm instead of 120
