I have to say I'm pretty happy with this phone that was purchased at the last sale. As I have a Redmi 8 pro the transition is smooth and there is no need to turn off ADs again.

    • Did you get VoLTE working with yours?

      • This worked on my Xiaomi phone,
        Dial * # * # 86583 # * # *
This will put a menu option on your phone where you can enable volte
        Then Dial ##869434##
This will put a menu item on your phone where you can enable vowifi.
Strangely on my phone I had to dial both numbers before any new menu items appeared.

        • I tried that and can see the menu item. Enabling it doesn't seem to do anything. I'm on Telstra prepaid

@dajackal: My wife had the same issue with Boost prepaid. My sim card in her phone (also a Boost prepaid) worked perfectly. They had me reboot her phone multiple times, reset the network settings on the phone. After tens of hours on the phone to Telstra technicians, l fixed the problem by porting her service to Optus prepaid and receiving a compensation payment from Boost of the full 12 month prepaid fee.

Try some of the above before you give up. I wish you good luck. Telstra has been decommissioning 3g all over Australia in favour of 5g. This has resulted in undue pressure on their 4g volte service that I don't think is a high priority for them to fix. I suspect that they are simply not provisioning all prepaid services for volte in areas where 4g services are under pressure. The then remaining 3g services are also under pressure.

    • Did it come with a screen protector?

      • They indeed do. A tight fitting clear case too.

        • I see. I have one I just can't tell if it's a screen protector. Do you reckon it's good enough?

          • +1

@bailbondsh: If you've ever had a glass screen protector, and used it hard enough for cracks or edges to chip away, then I would imagine that plastic isn't enough protection for your daily use. (me personally)

But my folks seem oddly pleased with the pre-applied plastic, and have waved off my offers to install a $10 glass layer onto their $350 phone. They've never managed to not get ugly bubbles whenever they tried to do it themselves.

tldr: probably not enough for going jogging with one, probably fine for a less active less commute lifestyle.

            • @Synticulous: I only dropped my last phone once in the last 5 years. Might consider more protection if I start running with it. Also I bubbled my last phone, only recently took of the protector to see how beautiful the screen looked underneath while using it. Oh well that phone could be using for my jogs actually. Thanks for getting me to think about it !!

    • How did you not get ads in this phone?

    Xiaomi 11 Lite

    Product Weight: 159g

    • It's lite. My Nokia XR20 is 250g

    • @jv I’ve missed you sweetheart! ♥️

    • Was it that bad?

Transitioning from iPhone iOS to a Xiaomi device is going to be a leap of faith.

      • +12

Yes, the iPhone 8 plus is really bad. I don't recommend it.

      • +11

iOS was designed to be idiot proof. Any extra functions and customisable features found on Android can be daunting to the average person.

    • And why so? The OS? Camera? Display?

  • This vs poco x4 pro 5g for 340ish

      Xiaomi Poco X4 Pro 5G - Antutu 385000, GFXBench 17fps
      Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE - Antutu 528000, GFXBench 28fps, Camera 111 (DXOmark)

      Definitely this imo

      • poco x3 pro

          Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro - Antutu 520000, GFXBench 38fps

So X3 pro about same but cheaper. Would have thought the camera would suffer, but it actually looks better to my eyes on the GSM arena low-light test. It's something to think about. I guess the deciding factor might be can you carry 215g or not

          • @Mitchell: snapdragon 800> snapdron 700

            want 5g/amoled/compact/better efficiency

            then get this

          • @Mitchell: Poco x3 pro is out of stock everywhere or selling for 500 dollars

        • +1

Just bought this one.. been using poco x3 pro for more than 6 months.. great phone performance for the price wise.. but ridiculously chunky.. its so heavy that i am holding a laptop all the time.. I hope this one will be light..

          • @Ref05: Yup it's insane how massive phones have gotten.

      • This vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro?

        • What about vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro?

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/697556

          • @retailsaver: with the constant updates and models that no longer support, i think note 11 pro would be more ideal than the 10 pro. You'd practically get a year of supported updates with 11 pro over 10 pro.

      • X4 has a larger battery screen etc, yes the CPU is better on this.
        Both look like good devices.

    • I got the x4 because Amazon.

  • Looks like a good deal

  • Virtual proximity sensing + Banggood.

    No, thank you.

    • Haven't you been banged good lately?

  • Link says product does not exists.

    • I think this happened because I was logged into banggood. Does not happen in incognito.

  • Black is 467. Only peach pink

    • No matter what color I am getting, I am getting a case to cover it. Give a better price for bright pink.

  • All bands are not supported though, I think Optus 5g may have issues.

    • Telstra 5g supported but I feel 5g uses more battery than 4g.

      • More battery definitely.

  • Unable to see deal at USD249. The deal is USD 269 after clicking "go to deal"…. how to go about it? Thanks!

    • Uncheck "shipping insurance" and "broken screen service" at checkout. This brings the price down to AU$343.60 incl GST for me .

  • Thank mate!
