Well, my pre-launch $79 excitement deal has come full circle. I'm going to finally give it a go for this embarrassingly low price.

P.s. everyone on PS5 should give Hell Let Loose a chance, it's phenomenal.

      I think once it hits 12 months old it will be added to the base subscription of EA Play which is included with Games Pass.

    The game has had some big updates in the last week or two and reportedly runs a lot smoother.

    They're making some map changes too to concentrate the action and avoid the empty big open spaces. Also changes incoming to the class system. The game is likely going to get better but can it shake off the blundered launch and get enough people to give it a second shot.

    For $9 I'm going to give it a go! Although not looking forward to the inevitable enormous update required before I can start playing

      Yeah, I feel like even at $9 though, its $9 too much. EA really needed to go free to play with this release to salvage something from the turd that is 2042….at least at free you could take it or leave it. I feel for the poor bastards who stuck it out believing things would get better too.

        Yes, it can. I haven't played for a few months but from memory no single player campaign, can't change teams or squads, no server browser for the main modes, no voice chat, somewhat unbalanced gear, so so many graphics issues.

        Also to add to what Baldy said, there are only 2-3 guns of each type and the maps were designed for something other than gameplay, some maps are just big open fields with no cover.

    EB Games trades it at $15 store credit for a level 4 (which is 20% extra value).

    tldr; not worth the trade in if wanting to make a quick buck

        If you're being (even semi) serious, they get a bit iffy if you trade more than 2 copies of a game. If you go in with your receipt, they'll likely trade a fair few of them. But doubt a single store would take 30 copies at once.

    one of the worst AAA games i have ever played, in terms of polish, bugs, unfinished textures and a reversal in quality of life game mechanics from earlier releases

    last time i tried to launch it on steam (about 3 weeks ago) it crashed while loading a game - same as the last time i played.

    check out the steam reviews, i would struggle to even suggest wasting the hard drive space if the game was free

      Forget the steam reviews (although I saw one that made me chuckle a lot, it reference "2042" a lot in the paragraph), check out Angry Joe's review on YT, for over an hour's worth of solid roasting. They could not find a single redeeming good thing about it.

      They even got demonetised for the amount of swearing in their video, but they didn't care, it needed to be said LOL!

    i didnt even play the Main game, i bought the pre-launch edition and only played BETA, requested to be refunded this dog of a game.. tried twice they wouldnt allow it… even though i never opened the full version.
    Battlefield series is finished in my opinion.. lost the way after BF4

      I believe due to the decline of the playerbase it might be a worse experience than launch even if its less buggy, last time I played most of the people I was up against were AI bots, I would imagine its only gotten worse since then.

    What are the populations like in Aus servers? Not even worth $9 if you can't find matches reliably.

    I've played 40hrs of this, always with a friend, and I enjoy it, but those 40hrs have been spread out over the last few months. I think in it's current state I'll get another 20-40hrs out of it, though I really enjoy Portal and look forward to what people can do with it in the future, plus the updates that should be coming to 2042 main.
    For $9, if you have a friend you play with it's worth it, just don't think it's going to be your 'every night' game, or that it's good as a single player.
