      • Can even get it cheaper if you have the Woolworths mobile thingie and still have your 10% off shop.

  • Crunchy Vs Smooth? Light Vs Dark?

I'm never going to crack the human genome at this rate…

    • +4

      CRUNCHY EVERY TIME.
Smooth peanut butter is for people with smooth brains.

    • +2

Smooth peanut butter is like eating a mouthful of glue.

      • +1

Well sir - I simply must refuse to continue this discussion any further.

I'll have you know that my father perished with a mouthful of glue after a hungry midnight foray to the dining room in search of some peanut butter to fill a void.

Damn you Clag! Damn you all to hell!!!

  • Account isn't charged until the item is shipped - anyone know if they will still honour the discount when they are restocked?

    • +2

      They will.

      It's the Amazon way…

  • i like their tahini .. tasty, versatile and jam packed with nutrients

  • +1

    Dark FTW

  • Just blend the peanuts yourself. Its cheaper.

    • Not as cheap as eating cardboard and sawdust instead (if you know a good cardboard manufacturer or 80's butcher), but technically true nonetheless…

  • I bought 6 of each and it gave me an additional $3 off the order? Not sure what the additional discount was, but I won't complain

    • +1

Their "Mayver's Dozen" promo has been running wild across all the socials…

    As per Amazon website.

    How do I back order?

  • +2

Made in Australia using FULLY IMPORTED low quality peanuts from Argentina, but we do ADD Australian sourced SALT…. yes, and the salt is very noticeable in their products. The salt is used to enhance low quality peanuts.

A far better quality tasting peanut butter is Pic's from New Zealand, using Hi Oleic peanuts from Queensland and Africa and you can certainly taste the difference. Buy it when on special at Coles or Woolies.

Another good choice is Bega Simply Nuts and again 100% Australian peanuts. Choice #3 Aldi organic.

As for peanut butter with molasses, Americans like lots of sugar in everything - YUK !

    • I was wondering about Bega Simply Nuts.
I think it tastes better but obviously cant go as cheap (cheapest is around $3?)

    • Aldi good for most stuff.

Either way the mayvers seems a lot better than the standard dry craft crap, with less clean ingredients.

    • Brotein
Seems healthier but peanut butter mostly all fat

      • Factually, not true for Mayvers

The total Fat content is 47%, however Saturated Fats make up only 7%, whilst the "good fats" Monounsaturated 24% & Polyunsaturated 16% and the top number award goes to Protein at 25%.

Had to put some facts out there so you don't believe everything you read, its just not "mostly all fat"

        • Ok I'll have a look at the back of the thing when it arrives, (Must have got the last one).

Either way most people know peanuts are mostly fat, whether good or bad, so don't need to go ape on them.

Acknowledge that natural fats can contain saturated fat. Just funny these days how everyone is scared of carbs but fats and oils are fine (a lot more calorie dense) . The fat you eat is the fat you wear.

          Cheers

        • just checked the figures on Cronometer, was mostly saying peanut butter is mostly fat but it's good there aren't any added preservatives and all that.

          Mayver's, Peanut Butter, Smooth = 74% fat, 19.5% protein, 10.5% carbs.
Roasted Peanuts (99.3%) & Sea Salt.

Mayver's, Protein Peanut Butter, With Hemp Seeds = 67% fat, 22% protein, 11% carbs.
(Peanuts, Peanut Flour, Hemp Seeds (5%) & Salt.)

Not that much different to be honest.
