I suggest no one buy anything from Shopping Express. If you ever have to return something that is faulty you will lose your money as there is no after sales support. If you have to return faulty items even within 7 days or they are DOA they will not refund you.

    • I had a good experience with them when I had some crucial RAM DOA. They paid for shipping both ways.

I did have to wait about 3 weeks, but thats part of dealing with international suppliers.

I raised a DOA with crucial directly and they expected me to ship $100 RAM to the USA at my expense.

Maybe they were passing on the crap policies of that particular brand to you? What product was it?

If they are trading in Australia, Australian Consumer Law overrides crap brand policies or outcomes they desire.

A product DOA is a major defect, not fit for purpose and must be replaced or refunded.

Difficult to enforce as a consumer however, what are your rights and how to you make them work for you?
Send a strongly worded email to sales?

          • @deadlift: Mention the Small claims tribunal

            • @rygle: And how does that work for the nine to five worker?

              • +1

@deadlift: you basically fill out a blurb online and lodge a complaint to the ombudsman. The ombudsman responds and takes action

                • @Jimmy77: This. If the retailer flat out refuses a refund or replacement then you have nothing to lose. I've only known of a few cases going this far, but outcomes were eventually reached.

    • I have file two RMA quite smoothly with them, one is a DOA hard drive, another is faulty GB motherboard, both through James with prepaid shipping labels

  • I want to pull the trigger on a few things but the feedback has made me hesitant, bought heaps of components in the past and never had an issue but from stores mainly.
Anyone else had bad experiences with them?

sort of hit and miss. If you can find a close price to this on Amazon or eBay, then I would take Amazon or eBay for a simple refund or repair process with them.

Must be some Shopping Express people on here. Stick to Amazon or Ebay money back guarantee don't deal directly through their website. I'm taking Afterpay to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority as I'm being charged for something I don't have and I'm taking Shopping Express to fair trading.

if you pay by credit card, can't you do a charge back of you get no love from the retailer?

I don't see why online shops should charge a surcharge for using a card. When my Dad had his butcher shops, he applied and got AMEX added to the eftpos systems. His reasoning was "i'd rather have 98% of 100% than 98% of nothing".
If people want your business, add it in the cost or suck it up. These major chains/big business joints have deals with the banks anyway.
