This is a legit concern. ACCC have very specific rules in the trade practices Act about this.
You can't bait people with an offer that you aren't going to deliver on, only to get them in and say you've sold out/it's not available etc but then push another inferior product instead. IE kayo vs this kayo Freebies shit.

I'm sure the thing that would cover them there is where is the baiting on Kayo's behalf? Where was the code first promoted? If they splashed it on their social medias etc legitimately baiting people fair enough…but I don't think that was the case here.

The point was the code wasn't promoted by them as being available for every single person who saw it. The code obviously came from them, and they obviously did a bad job in limiting it to those who it was intended for, but I'm more than sure there would be something deep inside their terms that covers them, but by all means head to the ACCC and accuse them of baiting, as the comment I was replying to was indicating.

They got hundreds of new Freebie Kayo accounts with phone numbers overnight. If they're going to lie, at least make it somewhat believable…
The codes came from Kayo and were for use by people who bought certain F1 tickets, the code was never publicly released by Kayo through emails to subscribers, social media posts, advertisements etc. and was not intended for general use by every member of the public.
I believe it was first leaked by someone on the Reddit F1 subreddit who is not affiliated with Kayo.

Showing on the Telstra $15 deal expiring on the 23rd of May, below that the 1 year free Kayo is showing as pending. Will be interesting to see what happens in the coming days / few weeks!

It boggles my mind that Kayo recently went UP in price. In the times I tried it (for free) I found it appalling, with a very clunky UI which made it difficult to find the sports I do follow. There's no way to filter down the home screen to just what is relevant and worst of all, it has ADS!!

I was a Binge customer already. I got 12 months added with the offer. I also signed up for Kayo (new customer) and got 12 months. Neither offer has been revoked (yet). I also signed up to Flash, but when I log in it says I'm not a paid subscriber and sends me to the payment page. 2/3 (for now) ain't bad.
What's the reason for the revokings? They offered a voucher code and now changed their minds?
Edit: just read through the thread and seems they told some people "the code wasn't intended to proved 12 months of free access"
And others have had their new accounts switched to a freebie account? This seems like a scam to sign up thousands of people to a service they weren't previously interested in.
