Apple iPhone 6s 32GB (Space Grey) $99 (Instore Only) @ JB Hi-Fi

1100

Was trolling the jbhifi website to see what I can get for the $10 perks from this deal and came across this one. I know it’s an old phone, but probably good enough for $99 if you can find one.
I can see some stock available in Bankstown Sydney.
Good luck!
Enjoy

  • Do you need to pay for unlocking it?

    • +1

I don’t know if prepaid iPhones being locked. Also did a quick read of the reviews and none of them said anything about it being locked.

  • +1

The site let me check out with delivery.

  • I assume that the battery in it is probably stuffed?

    • +1

Should come with a 1 year warranty and 2 years ACL.

      • +15

2 years ACL may be a fight, given the asking price.

        • +2

Apple's policy states 24 months. Since JB is an authorised reseller, you should be good.

    • +1

if its brand new, but not used for 5+ years, would the batteries be good as new or can it go bad?

      • +1

As long as there is some residual charge when you receive it assuming it has never been charged since manufacture.I have the very first ipad barely used it charges and hold charge well considering it's 12 years old.

      • I can't see them being brand new, particular at this price.

      • +1

I just bought an unopened 4th gen Apple TV. It was original run as it was a 64GB (plus it has a company logo on the remote - was a conference promo dated Sep 2016).

Remote battery was greater than 10% (got a 10% warning after about 45 min use)

      • Batteries don't like being at 0%. These batteries have been at 0% for a loooong time

  • +3

    OOS
Would've been good to play with it and then palm it off to CeX when I got bored lol

  • +14

How the hell do they still have some of these new?

    • +28

Buy first ask later- it’s the ozbargain way

      • +18

        But first ask later

        Braver man than I.

Sometimes you buy things that are on clearance… and when you receive them they have a thick layer of dust on top of them. It can easily explain how some prices come to be.

  • +1

    Wow bargain

  • +4

are you sure you didn't time travel back to 2012 ?

    • +51

why? so you can wait 3 years for this phone to release?

  • +15

    $89 for a chopper hmm.

    • +2

There are better ways of doing it than this!

      • What's a 'chopper' in this context?

@dust: Ah, thanks! Had me bamboozled for a minute there.

          • @dust: The chopper page broke Ozbargain wow

      • +2

Pays for itself after 2 tanks.

        • You've been saving $50 per lock-in? How big are your fuels tanks or how expensive is your local fuel price that the difference is this much?

          • @vawiyoci: Helping family friends lock in prices and fill Chinese restaurant instore cars for delivery. You can fill up the multiple cars are the same pump and jerry cans. You can get 150L easily.

      • @dust, curious what is a better way? iOS doesn’t require any jailbreak. Just need a computer.

    • So many different jailbreaks depending which version of iOS it comes with. iOS 9.1 + Pangu9 would be sweet.

They are great for kids. I wanted 2 so I could sell my old iPhone X and 11 for 250-350 instead of passing them on.

  • For what it's worth, I just rang chirnside and he had none and said it wasn't showing any in Vic.

Never know, you might get lucky, but doubt it.

I'm sure I'll get hammered for the correction but will put this here just in case you are interested. https://www.quora.com/Should-we-say-people-are-trawling-the-…

Thanks - good to know. Will remember for my next post 😀👍

    • Ngl thought the fact that it was a 6S was trolling the internet

  • These and the iPhone 8 were the last iPhones that were Telstra bluetick.

    • So their reception is getting worse?

      • +1

No I really doubt Apple's quality is getting worse, its just they don't base their new phones on some random criteria from a telco of an island nation. If Telstra is stupid enough to not warrant any new iphones with a tick, then its Telstra's loss.

  • Just sold my 6s couple of wills ago for $140 ;)

    • +25

      I’m sorry for your loss.

    • +12

How many times have you died?

if anyone impulsively bought one, I'd love to take it off your hands!

Imma Android guy but the apple watch is the best health watch yo, really want a piece of that action.

  • +2

These have gotta be old returns or broken screens that the manager is too lazy to write off. Although I'm very curious if some people get them new !!

  • I would of bought device straight away & used for jogging! Has a plenty shortage as cheap iPod

  • Does it let you install newer apps? My iPhone 6 didn't let me install many apps from App Store saying it was old version no longer supported.

    • +9

6S supports the latest ios (can you believe that!).

iPhone 6 only goes up to 12.5.5

      • yep a friend of mine is still using her 6S plus after 7 years, original battery, and it is still getting software updates
however I remember reading some rumors Apple might drop the OS update later this year, but who knows

      • It really was a powerful phone for the time, really impressive that it can run new updates so many years later
I have a second phone (6S) just for work calls, still works well!

  • +5

I bought other Android devices showing "Clearance" and store said "We dont have the phone, so call online to get refund". So I bought another phone in clearance and same thing again from different store. What a joke

    • Exactly like my previous comment managers are too lazy or worried about negative GP affecting their targets so they don't bother writing them off but it sits there counted as stock and head office then tries to clear them cheap not realising they're mostly broken, stolen or damaged etc.

  • +1

iPhone 6S isn't on the JB store anymore. Looks like this was the last of it

    • Comes down to $29

  • -1

People who manage to get this do know that there is no more update for this phone right?

Then there is the 32G… Is that even enough to hold the current IOS?

  • Great price and is a great phone! Had one from work and it was beast, wife had one too for years until it finally started to fade…
