Free - 10,000 Telstra Plus Points with Registration and Card Link by 30 June @ Telstra Plus Market (Telstra Plus & ID Required)

4430

New service offering as part of Telstra Plus, and an incentive to sign up :)

Doesn't specify when the points will be delivered, but I'd say it will be after June 30.

Offer:

To celebrate the launch of Telstra Plus Market, we’ve created two special offers to help you earn points even faster.

Offer 1: Get 10,000 Telstra Plus points when you join Telstra Plus Market, and link a credit/debit card, by June 30.

Offer 2: Get 10,000 more points simply by making an eligible purchase by June 30.

Instructions:

  • Step 1: Download the My Telstra app (if you don’t already have it). To download the app, open the App Store (for Apple users) or Google Play (for Android users). Search for My Telstra and select install.

  • Step 2: Register for Telstra Plus Market using your Telstra Plus credentials in the My Telstra app. If you’re not a Telstra Plus member, you’ll need to join.

  • Step 3: Select the offer categories that interest you (such as fashion) and link your credit/debit cards to ensure you earn Telstra Plus points when you spend with participating businesses.

  • Step 4: Start shopping. Browse Telstra Plus Market businesses to find the offers you love. You can choose as many as you like, there’s no limit. Keep an eye out in the app as we’ll continue to add more businesses.

Instructions within App: Thanks to Yabadabadoo

  1. Open app
  2. Click button under your name with number of points you have
  3. Click My Benefits
  4. Under Offers and partners click View Offers
  5. Click Telstra Plus button at top of screen (your on offers button)

Here is an alternative way to register
    As seen on iOS App,
    - Click where it says Telstra Plus and shows the number of points
    - Telstra Plus Market shows up as an option. Option number 3
    - It goes through the steps but shows nothing about either of the bonus points offers as mentioned by OP.

But considering the fact, the offer is present elsewhere in the app screens, should be good to go.

    • +1

Must be iOS specific. On Android I just see My benefits, Tickets, and My card. On the website the offer appears under "latest member offers" (https://plus.telstra.com.au/benefits/market/customer). They do mention there that it works from either android or iOS app, so maybe they are working on it. Probably will just bookmark this to remind me to check later sometime.

      edit

      Just appeared then….

  • How do you know whether you’re successful to get the 10k bonus pts? I’m a Boost customer and I’ve registered and linked my card but there’s no confirmation on whether the 10k pts will be credited

    • Wait until next month

  • +3

    https://plus.telstra.com.au/benefits/market/customer

This link should also show the offer for anyone wanting to take evidence coz…Telstra :D

  • +6

I'll give Telstra 10,000 customers if anything they advertise would actually work the first time you try it..

    • Yeah there are extensive Whirlpool threads for how crap the plus system is.

I have like 25000 points that I basically can't access and dealing with Telstra support will get me on a suspected terror list.

      • +2

I bought a google home or whatever with my first 10K points and they just never sent anything.
There is no way to see orders, or even your transactions that are more than a few months old.
        Nobody to call.
        Online chat doesn't do anything.

        • +4

That's why you pay the big bucks for Telstra, service second to none all

    • Lol 😆

which purchase is eligible for offer 2?

  • -1

Clicked open several pages from the "Register for Telstra Plus Market" link on this page https://plus.telstra.com.au/benefits/market

    Then it shows:

    Eligibility

To see if your business is eligible to join Telstra Plus Market, please provide the following details. All fields are required.

    And an input for ABN

    • +2

That's the wrong page for this offer. There's a Telstra Plus Market for businesses to sell (your link) which requires an ABN. You need to signup in the app with MyTelstra as a consumer for this offer.

  • +1

As usual android app is broken and no clear way to sign up, ipad it was easy to sign up. I have an old ipad pretty much for signing up for offers where the company's android app is faulty.

  • Geez my offers are all located in Melbourne. Apparently only 17hr36mins away

  • successfully signed up via the app and added a debit card - so how long until we find out if we get the 10,000 points?

    • Keen to know this aswell - I've done both my accounts… had to use different cards for each account.

  • Looking for cheap things to buy to get 2nd 10000 points

Pls let me know if u found something suitable :)

  • +13

To answer when the points will arrived, below is from Telstra gold support

“I already checked this out for you and it seems that the promotion that you saw is valid. All you need to do is to link your credit or debit and the points should be added on your account within 14 days from sign-up.”

  • +17

App doesn't work, just loops me back to home page.

Can also register through website - https://plus.telstra.com.au/ - go there, and you'll see it as one of the three offers under "Latest member offers". Still loops me back to home page though.

    • +1

      same here

    • +1

I had the same thing, via the in-app browser (following OP instructions). Later on, however, I checked again and saw the offer directly in the app's own UI, scrolling down a bit on the homepage (under your name/points). Worked for me then

  • Am I blind? I can't find anywhere what is an 'eligible' purchase.

    • yes. But don't feel bad. The team at telstra who made that page, don't have hands to type in the eligible spend information either. I guess you are not alone

  • Do you need to have Telstra affiliated products like internet?

    • I don’t and was able to register.

  • +2

the Belong $80 SIM Starter Pack is now only 2000 points also FYI

    • Is that the cheapest purchase to be qualified for the 2nd offer?

      • you need to make a spend on the card you link and earns points, not spend points

        • What's the cheapest purchase to be qualified for the 2nd offer?

          • @PeeDee: also wondering this…

          • @PeeDee: There are plenty of places for you to spend a few bucks in store. Just check out the merchant catalogue.

        • To spend on an eligible business via the Telstra Plus Market

        15 dollars online

  • +1

After getting the “Something went wrong” message, I was able to register and link my card.

Btw I haven’t had a Telstra service for about 6 months.

    • +1

      I've got :

      Missing information

There are some details missing from your Telstra ID. Please update your Telstra ID to continue.

      Support code: NCLE001

      After click on the link:

      Welcome, let's set you up!

We're linking your Telstra ID to your account.

We just need to confirm your details.

    • Did you just keep refreshing the something went wrong page? or do something different?

      • Yeah I just kept refreshing, closed the app and tried again and it worked.

  • The big points sound so appetizing. What is the value of Telstra points?

    • I find 10k points to usually be worth around $30

    • -1

What is the value of Telstra points?

As a general rule of thumb, any points scheme will usually give you somewhere in the region of 0.25% of your dollar spent. So spend $100 and maybe get 25c in reward points.
In the case of Telstra, they are offering me a $15 saving off a phone for 5000 points ($500 spend) so that works out to 0.30%. Big whoop eh?

  • Do you need a Telstra phone number for this?

  • Can't believe postage costs $5.95 or 2500 points for some cheap small stuff from the rewards store.

    • when is the last time you posted a parcel?

      • I think it's more that 2500 points is $250 with Telstra.
(I get 400 points per month for my $40 montkt charge)

        • well yeah the earn rate is pathetic

    • +4

They always send by StarTrack express that typically arrives on the next day. I think it probably costs Telstra more than $5.95 to send it.

  • +5

Register for Telstra Market place link broken.

  • +2

god dammit someone's stolen my phone number as it says I'm already registered :(

    • Did you get the 10k points then…

  • +3

    Something went wrong
We couldn't complete the request due to a technical issue. Please try resubmitting the page.

  • -1

You must register through the offer page to claim the bonus, otherwise no bonus will be offered.

    • I guess that means no points for me then. Going through the app, I didn't see such an offer, so just signed up anyway, as others have already done.

      • Why would you do that!

  • +1

It seemed to work OK for me, but after reading the T&C's I decided against registering either of my eligible credit cards (that see a lot of use), and registered one of my debit cards (which sees no use) instead.

    • Yeah, I did the same. Don’t mind them monitoring everything I purchase on my rarely used debit card, but not keen on the level of invasive privacy lose involved if I linked my daily or even main bill payment card etc.

    • +1

This is where the Coles prepaid cards are useful

  • Getting something went wrong and user not eligible errors

    • Welcome!

      To the world of Tomorrow!

  • +3

Anyone else get "Something went wrong. We're currently experiencing technical issues. Please close this webpage and try again."

    • Yeah like everyone

  • By reading this, it seems whoever join this will get the point regardless which link you use to join.

    https://plus.telstra.com.au/benefits/market/customer

  • Somehow was able to register for Market and linked my card but cannot see the points. The offer tab have disappeared so I have gotten it but not showing. Using Android.

  • Thanks OP

  • Thanks op, 200th upvote!

  • +1

Following the instructions through the app and it tries to redirect me to a telstra business portal link then says oops something went wrong. When I click back it says i'm not eligible for this offer (probably still thinking I'm trying t sign up to a business offer)

Tried through the website but it redirects me to plus.telstra.com.au , will try tomorrow if I remember!

Can confirm this only worked on IOS, Android did an endless loop

    • Thanks for confirming I'm not going nuts

Would love to register as a business, get 50000 points on the way, then sell $1 gift cards so everyone can get there 10000 points

  • Telstra Plus Market's current range of point partners are pretty ghetto compared to other reward point schemes

  • +2

    Still not working on android

    • +1

Time to fire up the old iPhone 3g

Edit. Try now on Android, mine worked

  • Tried android phone, web and iPad. None worked.

  • Yeah both android and desktop just keep looping back home for me

    • Same for me on Android. Exploring the offer just loops back to the same home page.

  • +1

Funny how really pathetic some major corporations websites are like Optus, Telstra.

  • "Instructions within the app" just show you the offer.

"Instructions" is actually how you join Telstra Plus Market. At least that was my experience on iOS.

  • When I click on "Register for Telstra Plus Market", it redirects me back to https://plus.telstra.com.au/

Checking the browser, it gave a 401 unauthorised error

  • Just checked on the offers via the Telstra Market place and little chance I'm making a purchase…..I'm going to struggle getting to Heng Shen Asian grocery on the other side of Melbourne.

And I've never heard of any of the other businesses offered or needing the servers offered. Muscle mat? I wish it was that easy…..Hopefully OzB's can find a suitable business to make a purchase from but it's going to be unlikely for me

  • +3

After following steps 1-7 I got stuck in a loop too, so ended up closing and reopening app, then found the big panel on the home page as others have said, and successfully clicked through from there to sign up and link a card

    • Going through the panel worked..Thanks mate!

  • Can you just click the tab T+ member, which brings up an option for "Telstra Plus Market" and sign up through there? Rather than going to "My benefits" > Offers and partners > Telstra Plus > Latest member offers?

I tried the second method and it keeps telling me something is wrong.

    • I did this for the exact reason, not sure if the points will go through but took a screenshot of the offer on my profile

  • I managed to register and add a card but didn't get any points.

    • +1

The points aren't posted instantly, another commenter advised it could be 14 days, or after 30 June.

      • +6

After 15 days they confirm you will get the bonus and tell you to wait another two weeks
After 16 days they change the T&Cs page
After 30 days they keep quoting the T&C page which excludes you

  • +2

Anyone have any good suggestions on what to buy for the qualified purchase to get the extra 10,000 points without spending much $$?

  • How does Telstra track whether you’ve made a purchase? Is it through the card that you link?

  • +1

As many others have experienced - I just get a loop back to the main page on both the App (android) and the website. No sign up form etc.

    Any tips would be welcome!
