    Blame it on INFLATION!!

  • JB hifi same price

    • Ya noticed they have B22 version as well. However no stock in my locals. Should pay delivery charges.

    • I can’t seem to see the same e27 kit on jb search? B22 is there but online only

Edit never mind found it via google search instead

  • Got two of those and I need another 7 bulbs

  • Cheers OP

  • Looks like it comes with the old version of the Hue dimmer switch? (with CR2045 battery and no scene button)

  • This just looks like terribly bad value. I don't really understand how Hue has managed to keep going.

I’ve bought dozens of smart lighting systems in the past, including LIFX, Fibaro, Weymouth, Yilight, Meross and Philips.

Philips Hue is by far the most reliable to use, both as a system and in connections to Google/Apple.

I don’t plan to use any other systems again

      • +1

Totally agree - have a mixture of LIFX, Tuya (bunch of brands) and Hue. Hue works perfectly every time. In fact I've stocked up on Hues to replace pretty much all the others.

        • My sentiments and experience exactly. Hue most reliable by far and I’m now slowly ditching tradfri for 100% hue

(Having a brand that a) does b22 and b) stayed on Bunnings shelves for more than 8 minutes is a good start for me already , it’s a bonus it works well )

    • Buy smart lights, play around with them and you’ll soon realise why.

    • +1

By being reliable since it uses the Zigbee protocol which allows for local control (no internet required) and also because it's easy to use.

I've also used several other systems in the past (LIFX, Tuya/Arlec Grid Connect, Kasa) and none have been as reliable as Zigbee-based smart lighting.

I have 4x Ubiquiti access points and I have reliable coverage across my entire property, yet WiFi-based lighting systems have always let me down.

This is only the white version. No ambient control

  • I was looking at these but found a YouTube clip mentioning Broadlink. Still doing the homework on this though. The rgb bulbs can do a good daylight white and pretty sure they can be made dimmable through creating scenes.

    • But this is Bluetooth, zigbee is the go!.

  • Just check Bunnings first - last price they had at my local was $35 for this set. The 3 x colour plus bridge was down to $120 too. Just never know if they can find the stock!

  • Oos

  • Waiting on the GU10 in colour, but at $100 a bulb :(

  • Do these have PWM dimming? (if you put a camera to it, can you see strobing/lines)

    • +1

Yes you can see vertical strobing, only when directly at the bulb though.

      • Thanks for confirming. I would definitely buy one if it didn’t do that. I hate PWM as it causes headaches.
