OzB's fav on sale again. But I much prefer the PRO ver. because its battery is Li-Ion and just needs 1h to recharge. Compared to this NiMH 4h to recharge. Plus, NiMH batteries deliver power less consistently than Li-Ion. Up to you. If you wanna check out the PRO it's on sale too: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0DTK4NTWF

Any decent knock off blades for these? It’s the blade that end up costing you.

    • I don't know a decent one, but I can see there are many out there.

    • +1

I feel like comments on previous deals mention the knockoffs are prone to breaking

    • +28

Do not recommend the knock off blades. In my experience they work like garbage (takes forever to shave) and “pull” the hair on your balls-err…I mean… face.

    • +1

As others have said I woudnt recommend it

I bought this, using it now. Sure, it 'does the job' but one of them broke already and the others blade has come from the green frame thing slightly and needs to be nudged in. It also bends much looser and doesnt feel as close a shave

Ill just buy genuine next time, it sucks since they're expensive (and the 'arms' on the real one break frequently too) but hey thats the business model right

    • +2

In my experience no. I bought a few sets from aliexpress (different sellers and box sizes) they were a lot worse. One actually cut my face in several places.
      Also they are extremely painful..

Love the razor otherwise, just order the proper blades (I have delicate skin and this is the only razor I can cope with)

    • +1

Look for cheaper priced blades from Amazon Germany, tried 3 different brands of knock offs from Ali Express - all garbage.

Whatever Phillips are doing with their original blade must be worth the price, because you can’t get it for cheap

  • +12

I actually thought this was a Ryobi from the picture.

    • +7

      Compatible with the 8ah battery

      • +4

Weak. 12Ah HP+ is the real deal

    • Yeah I'm getting sick of these clickbait deals ;)

Like this suitcase deal trying to ride the hype of the Maikita deal deal on the weekend.

  • has anyone tried the pitbull shaver? i'm considering that for when i go full bald guy mode

    • +4

I use one every few days. One of the best purchases I've ever made.

If you do get one, just make sure you use shaving FOAM not GEL.
      Gel will clog the rotors.

      • Does it give a better shave with foam?
Never used foam or gel, just do a dry shave with this and it gives a clean result every time.

        • +3

I don't think it improves the shave but massively the irritation.
I used to get horrendous spots on my head when I used it dry.
I do have sensitive skin though.

          • @pauly85: Thanks mate, will try to shave with foam

          • @pauly85: why does it irritate, does it pull hairs out?

            • @fredblogs: Nah I think it's just the friction on my skin.
Like I say, I have sensitive skin so most likely a me problem.

Which is why the skullshavers are so good, because you can use them with foam to avoid irritation.

        • +1

I shave dry everyday, never had an issue

  • +1

I'll buy it. I'm sick of my DE razor.

    • +1

Bought it on one of the previous deals. Went back to my Gillette

      • If the blades for this aren't cheap I might use both. But am lazy so will probably mostly use this.

        • Depends on your use case, but for me this took much longer for a clean ‘shave’ of facial hair

  • elite - finally picked one up while in the US recently. So much easier to use than my Braun electric razor

keep an eye out for amazon international deals on the blades. managed to get a 3 pack from Germany last week for a good price

    • Like this? hahaha
      Delivery is expensive though

      • +1

        was free delivery

        • How long was that ago?

          • @PeeDee: May 28th.

Isn’t it free delivery for all prime members

            • @Howedan: Ohh I'm a prime member for AU not GE.

              • @PeeDee: I’m an Aus member only. But it’s a benefit:

‘Free delivery Available on Prime eligible international orders sold through Amazon Global Store.
Look for FREE Delivery with Prime International Shipping messaging’

  • is the pro + body version worth it?

    • +3

Is someone paying you to shave? You probably don't need the pro version.

  • -1

    Good for beard lining?

  • good for leg?

  • If you have very soft facial hair on a small face you might find it slightly useful. Otherwise avoid. I threw mine away.

    • +1

Why? Mine works a treat and I have quite thick facial hair

  • Can the blades be locked or do they always rotate?

  • Do they sell the adjustable comb separately anywhere? I've got the old model that I can't justify replacing cause it's still good, had those 1, 2, 3, 5mm individual guards. I've tried a Chinese adjustable guard but it clogs up like crazy

  • +1

I got one of these and honestly I don't see the appeal. It feels slower than a standard shave. Is it the adjustable part that makes it worth using? I always do a clean shave and it just feels like it takes forever.

  • -1

    any good ball proof trimmers?

    • +1

The PRO version comes with a guard that is really effective at not getting the skin pinched. But, if you stretch the skin out, the plain blade works fine.

  • +1

Have been using the 360 pro body version and it works great! haven’t been able to achive better sharp trims from any other trimmer as good as this one so far. However this only goes upto 10 mm and now I am intending to keep longer beards. Any suggestions which have same sharp trims as philips oneblade 360 for longer beards?

  • +3

Dont bother. They are really average and take forever to cut. You are much better off getting some proper clippers and finishing with an actual razor.

  • Waterproof like you can use it in the shower?

Edit: Yes (says so in the description lol).

    • +1

Yes, but for me it's less effective in the shower, it's not great at getting hair that is stuck down. Something like the Gillette Proglide works better in the shower.

  • +1

The replacements for the 360 are quite expensive. How many months would you guys say you get out of them?

  • +1

Mixed opinions in the comments, so my 2 cents. Don't bother trying to use it for a full face shave - it won't get close enough and it's much slower than something like a Braun electric. It's also fairly weak as a beard trimmer. But for doing the neck line or edges of your beard or for body hair removal, the OneBlade is amazing. Shoulders, upper arms, legs, the private parts, it works really well.

    • I half agree with you. I think it does fine with thinner hair. Anything else needs a separate trimmer anyway IMO.

I liken it to a weak auto-mower. It does well for regular maintenance, but let your yard overgrow even a little and you need more powerful tools for the job.
