  • What Ram?

  • +3

    damn, great deal, i paid ~$45 more with a gigabyte B550m s2h yesterday :(

  • +1

So much VFM in this. Pair this with a decent GPU like a 3060Ti/16Gigs of ram and 1TB NVME and you got a nice 1440P system.

    • Any NVMe you can recommend? Gotta make up my $45 difference somehow :)

      • +1

Sorry mate, my knowledge is not upto date anymore.

      • +1

The last deal for the dram-equipped Kingston I think was great. About $110 or something.

…i realise that's not entirely helpful but hopefully a search here brings it up.

Decided to be unlazy - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/697023

          Thankyou :) It's been a while since my last build, a Phenom II X6 1055T :)

          • +1

@bdl: Not saying it's THE best. But it's definitely just a great value mid tier SSD. I'm sure man+dog will have alternatives haha.

Ooo ye ol phenom. Was a great era!

            • +1

@incipient: The A2000 definitely seems like a good value/performance balance, especially with the DRAM cache

re: Phenom: o/c bliss, back when power was cheap and v8's roamed the Earth :)

          • +1

@bdl: Absolutely! The phenomII ×6 was a great platform!! That cpu could handle anything thrown at it in its prime. Brings back good memories :-D

This is exactly the kind of bundle I was looking for on here

  • +1

Damn, a few weeks too late for me.

  • +3

What's a bargain. 2 years ago for this price you would obly get 3600 instead. Thanks OP.

  • What's everyone's go to to get windows…. I'm seeing a lot of different prices from $20 to $150. Obviously for a new build such as this one we are making

    • +2

You can just use windows for free. I used windows 10 for free for years until I found an old laptop with a windows 7 key on it, managed to activate it with that.

      • I'm rebuilding after my desktop crap itself. But new motherboard means a new licence I thought

        • Can use it without activating.

        • +1

Can transfer if it is a retail version.

        • There's legit scripts you can activate that'll activate it for free

    • -1

the CD key websites are good

    • +1

The cheap ones that you see are usually volume licence keys which aren't meant be sold to individuals. At any stage your key could get revoked. If you know someone with an edu email in most cases they can get a windows 10 edu key for free.

      • Link please

        • Depends on which place they're studying at. At MQU it was OnTheHub.

        • Can you recommend one you've used?

        • I do agree, paying full price for Windows is ridiculous considering. Another commenter mentioned that there are scripts that can activate it for free. I think I know which one they're referring to and can confirm it works fine, I have used it for several PCs. I won't name it due to rules.

  • It says $349 for me.

  • Why always B550 mobo on sales but no x570

  • Great price for a super fast CPU + motherboard.

  • can anyone shed some light if Realtek LAN drivers have been fixed on windows 11 /10 ?

Majority of the Matx board both AMD and Intel (B660M) seems to be offering realtek LAN NIC and seems to be causing issues / unstable.

where else going for either ATX or MITX offers the options of Intel Lan.

    • Asrock Pro4 seems to have Intel Lan.

And where did you learn realtek lan being unstable from?

        https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:bhmmay…

        https://www.reddit.com/r/gigabyte/comments/lqsagl/any_update…

I actually stumble upon this problem when I was looking at gigabyte motherboard as they were cheaper,….. checking further, linked me to the msi thread… it seems to affect a few Realtek chipset? ( I have not gone and document which Realtek chipset it is but it is safe to say for peace of mind I was thinking of avoiding Realtek NIC for now unless someone can confirm it is ok).

I am unsure if it's been actually fixed or is it just a stop gap solution whereby you can't use the full 2.5gb speed. I predominantly use my PC with a NAS/modifying files via network LAN, and I have seen that someone mentioned that it will eventually at least disconnect still once a day. ( Pretty dodgy tho! )

Regardless it does not give leave me a good impression on Realtek NIC. Was also suprise to see some users have had the issue for more than a year!

        • No issues for me

      • So far I have narrowed down for small size motherboard (MITX) / AMD build only the Asus B550i rog has intel LAN (Or the x570 version).
But yeah the vrm apparently is not as big as MSI or gigabyte offering but I guess a fair compromise if one isn't overclocking.

Just hoping price will drop for it.

        • Those links you provided are related to Realtek's 2.5Gbps LAN chipset. You expect B550M PRO to have a 2.5Gbps LAN port? Honestly, considered it already cut other corners, that's wishful thinking.

That said, if you already have 2.5Gbps setup at home throughout (or in your home office throughout), you can go for Intel 2.5 Gbps LAN chipset motherboard.

  • dang, too bad they dont have the bundle with 5600g… thinking of building a NAS…

  • I just need a 5600(x) or 12600k mITX mobo bundle and I'd be set, but that seems unlikely for the foreseeable future

  • Because i'm a tightarse I chose the electronic transfer option on payment but accidentally sent XXX.00 instead of XXX.60 because i'm blind… I'm not getting my money back, am I…? (profanity).

    • Probably more of a question for your bank to be honest

      • +5

Support just reached back to me and they cleared off the 60 cents as a "special once off for me". Looks like everyone else in this thread got SCAMMED I got the true ozbargain haha!

        • +2

I feel I need to pull this post now. Yours is the true bargain 😂

  • +1

Hmm… got an old rig with a gtx970 and i5-6500… got a CPU bottleneck. Only use it for vermintide 2.

This combo for $314.90 or the 12100f for $149 plus $129 for Asrock H610M?(https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/692864)

Is the 12100f better performance/value for low end gaming (even if I gotta pay for shipping twice)?

(Would need new RAM and SSD too.)

    • +2

This is an absolute bargain, much better for 40 bucks extra, and especially so for the $340 pro vhd.

    • +2

in 2022.. 6 cores should be the minimum go to option…even the consoles have 8 cores….

The 6 core 5600 is faster anyways so its a non issue

      • +1

depends on what games you play, like i can't even be bothered trying the new titles they all look boring

the only reason i want to upgrade is so i can skip turns on civ5 faster lol

    • +1

5600 and 12400f are very close
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uihwwhXREnM

so its a matter of whether you want the extra 2 cores

      • R5 5600 vs. i5-12400F ??? dude.. he was asking about the 4 core 12100F

        the 5600 trashes the 12100F

  • Oooh these are getting tempting… one day I'll upgrade from my 3930k that I scored from an office pc… still don't see a worthwhile benefit for 1440p gaming.

    • +1

My old overclocked 2500k still chugging along, tempting through

      • Through what?

        • typo, was on my phone!

    • You will see a FPS gain moving to a Ryzen 5600 even at 1440p.. lots of new games like Elden ring are using more and more CPU power..

      • Oh I don't doubt that, but as this is ozbargain, the question is, is the fps increase big enough to warrant ~$400+ (mobo+cpu+ram)?
        (reference: 5700XT, overclocked 3930k at 4.5ghz)

  • looking to upgrade my i5 7500 with asrock h270m pro4 motherboard and 16gb of 2400(?) ram.

Would I be able to just swap this ryzen board and cpu straight in and use the existing ram as well?
    help appreciated

    • +1

RAM is universal, would work with either cpu/mobo combo, would bump that 2400 kit to 3200 though, seems to be a happy ground and the price difference would be negligible.

      • thanks! would this cpu come with it's own fan/cooler so I don't have to buy one extra?

        • +1

Listing says the cooler is included, if i recall once you go a step above this in the ryzen series they stop coming included.

  • Pity there's no ATX bundles. I need two x16 slots (GPU and capture card), which I don't see on any of the mATX.

  • Need a RAM deal

  • I'm a bit out of the loop these days, I have a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, would it be compatible with this mobo/cpu combo?

    • +3

      is it AGP?

    • Yes - I'm running a PCIe GTX 1050ti with this CPU and different brand same chipset mobo

      • it will work fine.

  • I only have a 2600x which is not officially supported and from what I can tell there is no flashback.

How can people tell if the board works with the cpu out of the box?

  • I've currently got a Ryzen 3600 and an MSI X470 GAMING PLUS MAX. I really don't know much about motherboards, from what I understand on average an x470 is better than a b450 but how does it compare to this b550m motherboard?

If I got this bundle could it be worthwhile to keep my current motherboard over this new one or is this one just objectively better?

    • +1

first thing to do is check MSI's website to see if that motherboard you have has a new bios that supports the Ryzen 5600
If it does then you should be fine to upgrade to it before installing the new 5600.. dont do it earlier because your old CPU may no longer work once you do so you need to wait for the new 5600 to arrive.

:) its $256.50 on sale delivered (price shows up at checkout)
