    The Wi-Fi + 4G is now advertised as Wi-Fi + Cellular

    •

      Not in their catalog :)

It's not called Wifi+4g on the Apple website anymore, it's called Wifi+Cellular.

I still have $500 worth of GG gifts cards, but not yet keen to replace my iPad 2.

      •

Geez…..I make a simple honest comment and I get negged !

Yes, but this one says 4G, so it's better!
      /sarcasm

    •

Yes, but good luck finding a store with stock!

      • +3 votes

        Don't bother with BigW stock. All you need to do is;
        1. Print out BigW iPad Ad page with discounted price
        2. Go to Apple Store (Sydney George St) and ask for a price match of BigW

I got one with this method - they were happy, I was happy.
        good luck.

        •

I'm surprised, it's pretty rare for Apple to price match anything like this.

      •

Yes, not all GG stores stock ipads. Those that do stock them have limited availability. Well, stores within travelling distance of me anyway.

  •

    How much saving here?

  •

I picked one up with the gift cards at Auburn about 2 weeks ago for $853 - price matched Big W…

    •

I said BIGW and they said 855 and I paid by gift cards.

  •

Picked up the 16Gb wifi for $490 using gift cards. So effective cost was $392.

even apple dont claim 4g anymore

Times must be desperate in OzBargain land where a retailer reducing its price to match another retailer's everyday price is considered a bargain.

  • +6 votes

no bargain regular Big W price

    •

      Do big w have stock?

      •

Depends where you live, after the 20% Good Guys gift card sale, I doubt good guys would have more than Big W.

        •

Not every1 has or purchased the 20% discount gift card man. Thats a bonus on top of this deal.

        •

My reply was to wxyz234 about stock levels. With that 20% off deal, Good Guys would have less in stock than Big W imo(they all seem to be out of stock before the 20% off gift card deal even started), then again it all depends where you live.

    •

Good luck getting one from Big W, I've not found a store with stock yet, on my travels.

      •

Maybe you need to travel a little further - my local has them as of last Sat but didn't go into which models they had in stock as I only observed them getting one out for a customer and it didn't look like they were in short supply.

        •

So it could have been an iPad2 for all you know?

        •

And it could have been a cabinet full of iPad 3 64G for all you know ;)

  •

+1 identical prices to BigW no bargain, it is a miracle that Good Guys are competitive don't see that often, least not in WA!

  • +1 vote

If you still have gift cards, it's a bargain. Though there were reports some stores will only let you use them at RRP.

  •

This is Big W price. My local GG was happy to match it a week ago, and happy to take 20% off gift cards too. But they have no stock. Still waiting.

Jesus people. Knickers in a twist much?

  •

BigW and Good Guys are $1 cheaper across all models compared to Target - http://shop.target.com.au/entertainment/tablets-readers-phon...

Got Myers to price match the $858 Big W price and then used the gift card discount they had last week which brought the price down to $780. Went back and bought a second one for the in-laws. Big W had no stock of the 64G 3G at the time but they never rang to check.

    •

which myer store did u go to?

  •

Serious question (and I'm putting that preamble in given previous comments in this thread - I really would like an explanation):

    What does "Cellular" mean?

I just bought my new iPad this morning. Got the 16gb wifi 4g one for 639 without even bargaining. Thr sales guy just offered me that price and told me ignore the advertisement. Then I used 550$ of the of thr gift cards. So that means I only cost me 529! Bargain!!

    •

Can I have the invoice for price match?

      •

Sure, but where can I upload the photo/scan to?

        •

Can I have to invoice too ?
They need the invoice number too..
          Thanks in advance!

Maybe post a link here ? Dropbox ?

        •

Can u please pm me? I can massage u my email address because ya user set up does not accept PM. Thank you :-)

Hopefully that works, thats the invoice I got for 639 for my 16gb. At Osborne park in WA, which apparently is sold out already!

  •

Just because there isn't 4G compatible in Australia doesn't mean the feature ceases to exist. Stop bickering over nothing.

  •

Apple topic… Where's the best place to get an apple tv?

  •

Goodguys Ossy Park had sold out of the 16gb models when I went there today.

FYI Dick Smith would not price match $498. Apparently its "below cost" so I ended up driving another 5 minutes around the corner got one from Big W. 16gb wifi "New" Ipad $498.

    •

Wow, that was quick. Thats where I went to buy mine this morning and there looked to be plenty left!

    •

      No, it ain't 'below cost'!

Big w and dick smith r owned by the same people…so, same cost price.

Love it how they kill ech other!

    •

Shizz I went to OZ Park last week they had a black new iPad 16G for $490 I didn't even mention anything about the price match etc. But I didn't buy it because I wanted a white iPad. I think most TGG willing to sell them at $490 which I doubt it is below cost but only DSE being a Dick.

There is a good website that tracks best prices of Apple products, and here is the info for new iPad: http://www.macpricesaustralia.com.au/mac/ipad/cheapest/

I have used this previously to get iPod and iMac, and it saves time from shopping around .

Hope this will be useful for some members from ozbargain.

  •

hey guys, can you tell me why you would pay a premium price to get the 64/32GB model instead of the 16GB model?

    Since we have itunes wi-fi sync;
    many applications can do wireless upload content from PC to iPad;
many DLNA UPNP Airplay devices can stream videos wirelessly and you
have dropbox/box.net/google drive to exchange content in the cloud.

Is it just simply because mine 64GB is twice better than your 32GB model?
or is it because I want to store more movies on my iPad and don't want to bother copying them frequently?
Or my wireless is too suck can't do wireless streaming?

    •

      ——— Since we have itunes wi-fi sync;

So you still need enough storage on your iPad (also wifi sync is very slow) and because of the new display a lot of new apps especially games are getting bigger and bigger.

Harvey Norman has it it for $855 in today's paper. I wonder if they'll remove stock from display, like they usually do when they have sales.

  •

Got the last white 64GB 4G from TGG Rockdale for $839 this afternoon. None left at TGG Alexandria.
