  • Meh… Went over Easter and paid $35 for 2 adult tickets (2 for 1 from Entertainment Book).

Definitely did not think it was even worth that much. Quite a few exhibits closed for renos, and apart from the big shark tank it was like a bunch of oversized fish tanks in different rooms and about as interesting.

We went through everything with 2yr old son and pram in tow in under 30 minutes.

Wont neg because it is up to others to decide if they like it, but thought I would give a warning.

    • Good honest review, I don't have an entertainment book (millions don't) so this is a good deal relative to the normal pricing (but as I said below, may not be a good deal depending on what date/time you want to go).

  • Their time/date based ticketing/pricing system is confusing (and their site doesn't work very well at all in Chrome), this ends up being a great deal for 1 adult and 1 kid if you want to enter at any time during the day but depending on the date it's cheaper to buy a family pass and enter after 6pm if you have 2 adults and one kid (2 adults and 2 kids is definitely cheaper) but the time/date based pricing system seems to pick random numbers from the ether so this may not always be the case, like I said, confusing.

  • apart from tourists who can afford prices like these?

and I won't even start comparing with world aquariums that cost less and take up a complete 7 storey building

    • I know, right? You should try the "National Zoo and Aquarium" in Canberra, I've seen better aquariums in pet shops and the once-off price of admission to that place is embarrassing!

      • "Sydney has again been named Australia's most expensive city.
Sydney has been ranked the seventh most expensive city in the world in a cost of living survey of 130 cities by the Economist Intelligence Unit, compared with sixth last time."

      • Haha entertainment book got me a discount there as well (25% off maybe?)! Thought that was much better value for money than the Sydney Aquarium to be honest, a lot more to walk around and see for the kids.

But yeah the small city aquariums/zoos generally dont hold a candle to the big proper ones.
