eufy HD 4 Camera & Home Base Security Kit $799 (Save $400) + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ The Good Guys

270

Received this deal in an email from The Good Guys. It mentions that its a weekend special, so I am guessing it ends Sunday. 33% off ($400) usual ticket price of $1199.

I use this kit and works well for me, no messing around with wires and the battery life in these things are really good. Single charge lasts a year and may be a bit less in high traffic areas where the notifications are more frequent. Connection is stable and their app is easy to use.

Kept an eye on these kits for a friend, who ended up buying, thought of sharing it with the OzB community.

Note: I don't post frequently, so please excuse me if I have missed something.

  • no 2k cam with this package

I know, I have this and the resolution is good enough for me. When I need more cams, I will be getting the 2K cams and adding it the home base.

      • YouTube standard vs 2K, you can’t tell the difference

        • +2

Are you viewing the footage on a 1080p screen?

    • What's the diff between the 2c Pro and the link you posted? I tried looking at both pages but couldn't see the difference (possibly hard to notice using phone browser)

    • Do you think your link is better than this one. I think the only difference is your link doesn't have spotlight feature, so the 2 Pro should be cheaper than the 2C Pro right?

Edit: the 2C Pro is smaller, has spotlight and 180 day battery vs the 2 Pro with no spotlight, battery backup, 5 degree wider vision and 365 day battery. It would be good if you can combine them, the 2C Pro is good for outside and 2 Pro good for inside

    Same price on TGGC $799

  • Same price at Jb hifi as well.

  • Is it really close to 365 days for battery life?

I’ve got the Eufy 2c four-pack.. was hoping for 6-9 months battery life as advertised however I keep having to charge every 3 months!! Not even in high traffic areas

    • I have one in a low traffic environment - been 16 months since first charge and still has 40%
Other one in medium traffic had 20% left after 12 months

      • 2nd that. Mine clocks 200 days last time and stil got 40% left . Decide to charge it as I was going interstate.
The area (side door) is really lowwww traffic. Most of the time it records my neighbour cat stroll pass only.

        • Thanks - looks like I will have to upgrade to this model as it is significantly better in terms of battery life!

    • 2c has 180 days batt. The 2 pro has 365 days.

  • How does this compare with the T8833CD2 4 camera kit, which was below $500 earlier this year? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/674166

    • Those are 1080p. This is 2k

      • Also, those are 180 day battery life. This is 365 days

      • +1

2k is only slightly higher res than 1080p

        • 1920 X 1080= 2,073,600 pixels
          2560 X 1440= 3,686,400 pixels

          That's 1.78 times more pixels.

          • @Quarn: Isn't Eufy 2K resolution is 2304 x 1296?

  • Can't comment on this version however the 2c version is great, not as good resolution or battery life however charging something every 3-6 months in a high use area isn't really an issue.

https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/eufy-eufy-security-eufyc… Get them on the 30% off sales from supercheap.

It's basically half the price for a product that for all intent and purpose is similar IMO.

    • Even cheaper at Amazon $518.99

    • I have the 2C version and I am finding the battery life (3 months in my case, not even high traffic..) quite annoying after a while.. Looking at the 365 battery life (I don't need the spotlight feature) as this will be a lot more convenient

  • I have been using the 2c for last 18 month.
The good: decent app, flexible location, spotlight is a good deterrent
The bad: resolution at 1080p is just not good enough. There is often a lag before it starts recording so a lot of delivery drivers faces get missed. Often just see them walking away back to their car.

I’ve decided to get the Reolink 811a POE 4K camera kit. Currently 20% off via their eBay store.

    $1087 minus 20% - was around $869
    Then use eBay gift cards.

    • POE wired vs wireless..

      • 4k vs 2k

        • +1

After using wireless for the convenience, just saying better to invest in PoE. The performance of my 2c has been average. Battery life in high traffic area about 3 months

          • @dvd107: Same here.
2C wireless has been great however battery life not so good. And notifications sometimes temperamental

  • On busy area, HD version has close to 6 months usage from a single charge. very happy with it. Solar penal was used on one of the camera. 13Months, still has 60% battery.

The battery come with the Base will last about 2 days. Camera will still record to base during power outage.

Hope 2K version will perform better than HD version.

  • Got the 2c pro price matched for $681 today at jbhifi. Bought it using a GC so it was almost $650.
Set up took me just 15min for all 4 cams. The indoor cams have great video quality in dark. But the outdoor one is poor. I will change the location and test again tomorrow.

    • Any chance you could upload your receipt from JB so I can also try to price match? Thanks!

Addit - never mind, I think I will go for the 2 Pro (365 day battery life); don't need spotlight feature

    • Who did you price match it to?

      • MyDeal

          • +1

@d39833: Called jbhifi and told them the price that was listed in mydeal. They immediately sent me this matched price.

            • @nsavi: Thanks. I did the same and said some one on ozbargain got it for 681. He immidiately gave me the same price.

              • @d39833: Any chance you could upload your receipt from JB?

                • +1

@KolzManz: They have it in their system internally. I haven't collected mine yet.
Best to call the sales call center and tell them to match $681 from Mydeal.

                  • @d39833: Thank you for your reply.
As suggested, I rang the sales centre and managed to get the same deal as you did - you legend! :)

Also, worth mentioning that I rang my local JBHifi store earlier today and they wouldn't budge - $785 was their best offer
