For those who don't know, this is under TPG mobile and uses Vodafone network.

Up to you, but I strongly do not recommend Vodafone's network.

Couldn't agree more. Signed up for one of the 1 year plans for my partner and I and we couldn't wait to get off it. So unreliable and constantly finding us in situations where we don't have reception but everyone around us (not on Kogan/vodafone) did. Now with Amaysim and never had any issues

Vodafone in Geelong is just fine.

Vodafone in Sydney/South Sydney it’s fabulous. My kid using a Kogan in the iPad and works a charm.

        • +2

Very patchy around Sydney IMO, I do not recommend this Kogan/Vodafone service. I travel extensively (all over Sydney metro) and Vodafone has by far worst coverage in my experience. Can't wait to get back to Telstra or Optus

          • @justcallmeboss: Opposite from my experience. Been jumping between kogan and circles (optus) and kogan gets better reception. Constantly faster speeds at home and major cities with kogan.

here we go again groundhog day

  • Will this voucher extend current plan or replace it ?

    • +1

Based on my previous experience, it will replace the current plan

    • +1

      can confirm it replaces it

  • Need a Kogan 5G plan

  • I had no issues with Kogan in the past but tried to port to 2 different Voda MVNO in the past 3 months (Kogan + Lebara) with issues. Might just be me tho

    • In my experience it's Lebara that was the issue between the two.

And receive a free one year Kogan First membership after you activate.

    • I never get upgraded. Is it automatically done?

      • Customers will receive the Kogan First offer automatically, but must activate it themselves. Redemption of The Offer will be sent to the same email address as the original purchase receipt up to 30 days after activating an eligible Kogan Mobile voucher provided you have met the eligibility criteria. Only one redemption per Kogan.com account is eligible for The Offer.
I received my redemption email 5 weeks after activating the sim.

The Vodafone signal argument is not always true. If you are close to a Vodafone signal tower chance are you will get a good signal. I have to say Vodafone 5G speed is not that good though but 4G very stable if you have good signal.

This deal is basically $15 for 42gb a month. Not bad IMO……

    • If you are close to a tower

      That's the problem.

      • +2

Every carrier is like that. My area get shit Telstra speed because Telstra "forget" to put a base station at the site that is literally few hundred meters away. The closest tower are all few Km away. That is how I keep getting better speed on Vodafone than Telstra.

Note also there are areas that are currently suffer from heavy congestion because of of under capacity deployment. Burwood NSW is a typical example. No one is upgrading the 3G sites instead they put one 4G/5G site near the park and another one up the other side near Burwood plaza..thats it… absolutely pathetic!!

    Great deal op.

  • Good deal. Coincides with my recharge last year when they had a 2 for 1 deal.

  • 40GB per months for $15, great choice over Felix if it's just for your phone.

I have been using Kogan sim for a year and this is my second year, and this will be the last year that I am using.

One of the major drawback is, If I get a phone call, you will automatically switched to 3G with very slow internet connection. When I say slow, one example, it will be running at 256kbps speed. A normal news page takes 2-3 minutes to load. Other example is if I am in messenger call and say if I get a phone call, other party in messenger won’t hear you as your internet connection gets real worst when you get a phone call.

They haven’t upgraded their network and still the same as it was 2 years ago.

I highly not recommend this if relying on mobile data connection, but if you are in a frequent access to WiFi, this is a bargain.

  • Does anyone know if I can order a Kogan NZ to Australia? The website doesn’t make it clear…

  • Keen to know if I purchased this and not buy the add on roaming pack that I would still be able receive calls and texts from Australia if I'm in NZ for a year.

  • Use APPLOVE for $5 discount if it’s your first app purchase or use a different account

  • I'm currently on a 365 day Kogan prepaid.
The Vodafone coverage in my experience is very poor.
I've now bought a Boost mobile prepaid sim card and will swap to that soon.
You could have unlimited internet/calls/whatever, but if the service is slow and unreliable it is meaningless, it's only frustrating.

    • can you go outside and retype message you may have poor reception
