This is such a promo failure from TGG leaving bad taste for customers

          • @roshanrbb: No joke - I've been left on hold for a total of 6hrs and 12 minutes at this moment… Starting to think that there's nobody on the other side of this line and they just rely on customers giving up after a while.

Has been a terrible experience overall.

            • +1

@panpan123: That's a whole shift of some poor fellow on the other line 🤣 what an experience

            • +1

              @panpan123: The goofy guys!

  • No update and yet to receive mine. I also sent an online enquiry which states a response will be given within 5 days. Given the store credits normally last 7 days, I would hope they extend the expiry. Poor form on their part that we have to chase this up.

    • You wont get a response to the online enquiry.

  • I have not received yet. Is it too late to take my goods to refund?

    • If you haven't opened them, you can get a refund.

  • I’m on the same boat here.
Just finished my PayPal in 4 and no credit received. Raised an enquiry and hope they can reply.

Curious to know if anyone has actually had a call answered from 1300 466 348 today? I've literally just been working with my phone on hold since 9:47am and I'm about to finish off work for the day an nobody has picked up (~just under 7hrs now).

Once in a while, an automated voice message would pop up saying "your call is important to us and will be answered in the order received"…

    • +1

Yeah I got through but then was put through to the promotions team which doesn't exist. I'd recommend if anyone gets through to not accept the transfer and speak directly to management.

  • +1

I have not received the store credit as well. Called their customer care line, still no answer after 6 hours.

  • Me nothing so far…
    … Still waiting…

I am doing some research on night shift.

The CEO of The Good Guys is:

    Terry SMART.

    The corporate office address is:

60 City Road, Southbank, VICTORIA 3006.

    Facebook page: @thegoodguysAU.

Perhaps a Facebook post (or 10) may prompt a resolution of this matter? I know companies hate bad Facebook publicity. That's where I will be starting…..

  • I'm in the same boat.. I get all the marketing emails and sms from TGG but didn't receive my $80 store credit.. raised atleast 3 enquiries by now via their online form but no response…

  • +6

Sample ACCC letter of complaint, adjusted for this situation, for anyone who may wish to use it.

For the attention of Mr. Terry SMART (CEO):

    "Dear Mr. Smart,

RE: COMPLAINT ABOUT FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH PROMOTIONAL OFFER "EOFY CLICK AND COLLECT STORE CREDIT"

I am writing to complain about having not receiving the due $120 store credit as part of the above recent promotion.

I made a purchase online on 20 June 2022; spending over $500 at your Bunbury store, which I collected personally on June 25. I paid via Paypal "Pay in 4 instalments", as required in the terms and conditions.

On Thursday, 14 July 2022 I was to have received $120 via email, but like many others - highlighted on an "Ozbargain" chat forum on this topic - the deal has not been honoured and I have not received by $120 store credit.

The purchase I made - and the subsequent store credit, was being purchased for a charity raffle I am running (www.rafflelink.com.au/haartraffle2022). The store credit was going to purchase the sound bar which is the second raffle prize, so it is particularly disappointing that I may have to cancel the raffle and let all ticket purchasers know the reason why.

To resolve this issue, I would like the $120 store credit emailed to me within 7 days of this letter. I would also like a further 7 days with which to spend the credit. I would also like all other customers who have not received their credit to receive theirs also.

I have attached a copy of my receipt as proof of purchase.

If I do not receive my credit within 7 days, I will lodge a formal complaint with Consumer Affairs in my state.

You can email me to discuss this matter further.

    Yours sincerely,

    Jane Brown"

Enclosed: Copy of the receipt for purchase.

    • Sent to Facebook messenger. Have had a reply asking for details and phone number. No further response as yet. I’ve logged through there contact page as well.

  • I set myself a reminder on the 14th to check for my voucher in my emails an SMS. I've abided by all the rules, I've been getting SMS spam so am definitely signed up for their marketing, and I also haven't received anything. I too was thinking about commenting on their Facebook page. Reading all these messages is not giving me much faith. I will try all the avenues, and if they don't come through, will also consider ACA. So annoying - who has time for this?
Thanks to all the people who left links to the T&Cs etc, as I can't find anything on the Good Guys website.

  • I also did not receive my store credit .. can’t even speak to anyone on the phone about it .. I’m thinking about going in store and demanding it , not much else I can do ?

  • +1

    Hi guys,

I commented on one of their Facebook posts.. they asked me to PM them (which I already had)… they finally issued the store credit… same expiry as per original terms though 20/07…

    • Yea I sent them a PM via messenger also just awaiting their reply

      • Let's hope they finally come through Facebook Messenger

    • +1

Facebook might be the life saver. It’s frustrating that we need to chase it up this way.
Update: received my store credit through PM on Facebook

    • +1

Same. They just issued the credit after I provided the order number. I recommend chasing them up there.

      • How long was the response time?

        • I’ve not heard back yet from my enquiry over 2hrs ago!

        • got a response within 10mins. They issued the credit within 30mins

          • @objtrim92: Maybe they’ve logged off for the day, or stopped processing any more!!
Did they issue the credit via email?

            • @Boyo: yep via email

              • @objtrim92: Thanks!
Hopefully they will process mine when they see the message!

      • I got invalid store credits, do you check the validity?

    • I’ve just tried the same. Hopefully I’ll get mine today too.

  • This was their response via messenger. I don't recall opting out of a promotion, why would I even do so??? Anyone able to provide clarification?

"Hi xxx thanks for getting in touch. We can confirm that you opted out of the promotion, and that is why you did not receive the store credit. We do however, understand that this would be disappointing, and therefore as a gesture of goodwill we will provide you with the $120 credit. For future promotions, please ensure you check the Terms and Conditions and remain opted into marketing material in order to be eligible for the store credit and to avoid disappointment. Enjoy the rest of your day."

    • They're claiming you unticked (or didn't tick) the checkbox to receive promotions/marketing materials in your account - the T&C's state if you don't agree to receive marketing you won't get the credit

      • I had the same response and claimed i needed to be opted for the promo on sms and email but i could only see email as the requirements to be opted in which i was and they provided the $60 credit as a gesture of good will

        • I have the same response as well.
I saw the T&C's regarding needing to opt into promotions, but I didn't remember unticking anything (or perhaps, it was a habit ofine/most oazbargains to untick that box).

All good, reach out ok Facebook, they will give you the credit out of goodwill. Expiry date still 20/7 so go for your life.

    • They lied, I always get promotion emails from them, but I still haven't got my $120 store credit yet.

      • Same here, I've subscribed to Good Guys and I haven't received my store credit yet

  • I just contacted via fb messenger, while they just sent me invalid store credits, and it's not the right amount I should get. Because I spent $500 over paypal in 4 instalments, I should get my $120 store credits, they ignored my request. It's a really terrible shopping experience.

  • Hi guys I am so pissed off. I finally got to them over the phone and they were asking me the store credit or what the promotion was? I forgot as I bought a GoPro 9 for $448. What would be my store credit? Where is this promotion located now as I can’t see it?

    • The table in the deal above shows what credit you would get depending on payment method - there's also a link to the T&Cs of the deal there

  • I've msgd yesterday afternoon via Facebook messenger and still haven't received a response yet, so frustrating. I've tried to call the 1300 number and call the store as well, they can't help

  • +2

Looks like they're not responding to Facebook messages anymore. No response to my message on Saturday and they've now posted saying you need to go to the contact centre for help.

    • Feels the same, and before this, they issued me a fake store credits. What a terrible expereice!!

    • Same. No response. This is horrible customer service. There's no way to contact the promotion team and they ignore all our emails and no contact number.

  • Messaged them via Facebook on Sat, still haven't received anything.

  • +1

We should lodge official complaint. Let me know how to proceed with this. I called the store they said the stores are not responsible for running campaigns. When I said the 1300 doesn’t work they told me to keep trying. WTF

  • +3

For anyone who want a copy of their June click and collect promotion terms and condition, here is the link from google drive.

    • +1

Thank you so much. Those idiots are now denying a promotion. Store has no clue on this.

  • After submitting an online enquiry last Friday and chasing via Facebook today (both went unanswered), I just got an email with the store credit voucher so check your inboxes

  • Holy crap just got store credit and it was $150 instead of $120 and I didn't even chase it up.

  • Woaha,

I just got a $150 credit with extended expiry. This is on top of the $120 I got from contacting their Facebook. I am not sure if it stacks though will be really have a lack of morals if I take advantage of both (but their fault if they allow it).

I now officially love The Good Guys and wish to propose.

Yep - purchased what I was originally going to purchase at $150 off. So tempted to try and stack or buy something else with the $120… >.<

    • I got the same. Both vouchers, one by SMS, one by email.

  • Store credit just came through. $100 instead of $80. Bonus $20 for the inconvenience. Plus 7 days to spend it.

  • New flash, double check your inboxes hopefully your lucky. My credit just came through with an extra $30 by email-

  • I just received an email too with my store credit. Commented on their fb twice, sent a pm on Facebook twice and instagrammed them too. Not sure if it worked as haven't had a response, but got an extra $20 for the inconvenience. Hopefully the strength in numbers complaining helped!

  • The email subscription seems to be the issue for most people who did not receive the credits. Isn't it a common sense that if this term is such a critical one they should state it clearly in the promotion message instead of only including it in the T&C?
How many of you would read the full T&C when you enter a promotion like this?

    • +1

I did read the T&Cs - but I didn't remember having unticked a box regarding promotions.

      • I didn't read it and I didn't remember unticking anything.

  • I'm assuming that "valid until Wednesday 20th" means I can still use it on Wednesday right? Don't want to stuff up and let it expire by accident

  • Is anyone else still waiting for a response/ email with credit? Nothing here.

    • Still nothing here too.

    • Still nothing here too

    • Got mine today after chase up via Facebook and contact us on TGG website.

Got $150 instead of $120 as they say it is apology from the delay, credit expires on 25/7

      • same. sadly i don't think i got the $50 cashback for buying the dyson hairdryer.

        • my purchase also wasnt tracking from Shopback, raised a missing cashback claim, hope it will go through.

          • @SnoozeAndLose: Oh my purchase was tracked from SB. It was the internal tgg promotion that promised $50 cashback which I didn't get. That may be partially my fault as I didn't know I had to sign up for the promo in their site. It was after the promotion period that I only noticed it.

            • @Desailly: I would argue that they do this in propose as there should be a note or sign say you need to opt for promotion.

just insist it is not clear, they will get it to you as a good will

    • Still waiting

    • Still not received.

  • Hi guys after emails and phone call follow ups I received $60 instead of $40 cash back.
I’ll be surprised if this doesn’t work. Now what to purchase from Good guys

  • I have sent emails, fb messages as well. No voucher for me so far. I do get their promotional emails so definitely not opted out.

  • Anyone know how many vouchers you can use together?

  • Still haven’t gotten anything 😂 time to post on Facebook I guess

  • They've now started deleting Facebook messages from us complaining we haven't received anything. Amazing

    • Just keep posting

  • I’ve bigger problem. I got $60 store credit nothing in GG to buy.

    • Google tv with Chromecast?

      • I got a Samsung smart TV. Not sure Google tv would bring anything extra.

  • +1

I still haven't received my voucher.. and facebook messages are ignored.
I might try and return the item i bought

    • +1

I gave up chasing this. Not going to buy this kind of promo from the badguy in the future.
