Surcharge for select payment methods: 1.2% Card & Paypal, 2% AmEx.

Currently on the hunt for an interim video card until the new AMD and Nvidia GPU's come out (Currently dont have a video card hence the need for an interim one).

For a bang to buck value, its not too bad as im a little wary of catching a falling knife in the current GPU pricing climate.

Specs are Up to 2602 MHz / 16 Gbps, 8GB GDDR6, DisplayPort x 3 (v1.4)/HDMI x 1 (Supports 4K@120Hz/8K@60Hz and VRR as specified in HDMI 2.1)

Does pretty good 1080p gaming and even though some reviews say it may struggle at times with 1440p, a review of past deals here indicates that the Ozbargain community is happy with the 6600xt's performance at 1440p gaming.

Review from tweaktown who seems in love with the card: https://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/9896/msi-radeon-rx-6600-xt…

Was interested in this model due to its compact size, however thermals/noise levels seem to be really bad.

Couldn't find much good info about it online (OP the TT review is for the premium MSI Gaming X model which has a different cooler), but a couple of bad signs:

    • Not to be confused with the MSI 2X OC 6600 XT which looks to have a much better heatsink

    • It doesn't use a proper finned heatsink, you can see from the photos/unboxing videos that it's the single piece, low density type.
It looks similar in size and design to the one on the terrible Biostar 6600 XT

    • From the super limited youtube videos that exist on this card, saw people commenting that it reaches >80⁰ under full load

Decided to avoid this model based on this research/estimation

I was trying to figure out the difference between the OC and the OCV1 which was about $50 more.

I read somewhere else that one had a 5600xt cooler on it.

But thanks for your thoughts, I posted this deal to get other people's views.

      • No worries!
Also just sharing my thoughts, at this price some may be willing to overlook thermals.

The OC2X is 20mm longer which rules it out for me, but it has a much better looking heatsink with proper fins.

Also wonder what the story is with them having this "V1" version that still seems to be sold alongside the OC2X while having a much lower-spec looking cooler.
Maybe they realised the V1 cooler is inadequate and released a revised model? Just speculating, and couldn't find anything online, but that was another thing that scared me off!
