Negging for issue with the specification and the quality of the product. This is no better than a toy and a waste of money at $17.

  • Does anyone know the term for ones that can be used slightly away from the eye?

I know they exist; I just dont know the term.

I wear a complex prescription; so 'in front of glasses' is the best I can do.

This will never achieve a usable 300x magnification, the maximum usable power is about 50x due to objective lens being 25mm dia.
The formula for max usable power of an optical system is approximately 2x the objective dia in mm.
With expensive cutting edge optics (ED or other exotic glass), up to 2.5x dia is achievable or a magnification of 2.5 x 25 = 62.5….not 300x
