great .. just a need a free flight to combine this with and I'm off! :P

Rove Downtown is $110'ish a night and Rove Expo $70'ish which is what you get with Economy. You're certainly not getting a free stay at Atlantis Dubai.

You can usually save more than that with another airline (Singapore particularly seems cheap).

    • Depends on.where you are flying to.as Emirates flys destination that Singapore doesn't

  • The hotel is JW Marriot Marquis which seems to be selling for approx $200 per night

      • Good pick up, didnt read my own post :)

  • Do these include awards flight?

    • cant find any award flights to DXB these days!

Should this deal come with a warning for same-sex couples and unmarried couples? Dubai has been known to lock up both groups.

      Extended free accommodation?

Also for theft, Dubai also locks up thieves.

      • +1

Australia also locks up thieves … I think the United Arab Emirates might cut off your hands or similar for theft.

They don't and you should respect the law of the land you are visiting.

          • +2

@ChipsChicky: Must be Saudi Arabia that does that.

Yes - definitely respect the rules of the land … hence my comment about the warning.

Buyer beware. Different country, different rules and culture. Smart traveller is a pretty good resource for any destination

    • Don't know why you got negs. You can also get locked up for "offensive" t-shirts - while in transit. It's easy to say be aware of the laws, but when a city promotes itself as a transport hub it needs to consider international standards, not just local especially if it's just transit within the airport.

Exactly, when's the last time Singapore cained someone for chewing gum at the airport? Never.

  • What’s the best hotel in Dubai?

    • JW Marriott is great … or Burj Al Arab … or any in Burj Khalifa …
Try to get closer to Dubai Mall.

They used to offer a free night at a hotel if your layover was at least 8 hours long. Not sure if they still do.

    • Not anymore. It’s now more 10 hours with extra qualifications.

    • I went to Madrid back in 2011 via DXB from PER. Inbound transit is 8 hrs, I got free hotel. Outbound transir 16+ hrs, I also got free hotel. Both on Economy Cattle class.

It's heat season on those dates. If you can take advantage, try to time your visit close to the end of September.

Wish they would include October as that would fall on my flight dates.

  • Interesting deal. I still think Qatar’s stopover deal is the most generous I’ve seen from an airline and the most worth doing if you’re flying from Australia to Europe.
