Any actual decent deals ? Most stuff just seems to be RRP UE boom 3 is $145-149 at retailers but $176 before the 12% discount..

      • +7

I think you need to hit the OzB wiki before speaking nonsense lol.

        • +6

Why are you posting instead of mobileciti themselves? Did they ask you to post it?

          • +16

@iamherenow: tightarse posts a lot of things that benefit the community. Quit whining.

              • +7

@iamherenow: Not at all, but trying to accuse them of sockpuppeting or any other stupid stuff? Give me a break.

Given the amount of stuff TA posts you could probably assume they liaise with some of the stores to help organise the offers and that could be why they post them?

Either way. TA is an asset with the amount of work they do for the OzB community from my POV.

                • -6

@deva5610: Well I don't see why the rep didn't post. There was clear organisation around rep attendance. Seems kinda associated to me.

                    • -1

                      @deva5610: How about this one:

Official Marketing - you are part of sales & marketing/advertising of the store itself

                      • +2

@iamherenow: Why not just report your issues with the site moderators and move on? I think most of us old timers are well versed in the posting guidelines. Thanks.

                        • @tightarse: because regardless of the rules, I feel this level of organisation with a retailer to post a deal is inappropriate. An appropriate approach would be for the store to post the deal themselves, rather than work off the reputation of the poster to attract sales.

                            • -2

                              @tightarse: as I said:

regardless of the rules, I feel this level of organisation with a retailer to post a deal is inappropriate

                              • +3

@iamherenow: And as I said, report it and ask the moderators to change the rules. You’re venting is certainly not going to stop me approaching stores and asking for deals.

                                • -2

@tightarse: and long may you continue to do so TA. Ignore the one bent out of shape troll who has no clue what they're on about.

                                • -1

                                  @tightarse:

as I said, report it and ask the moderators to change the rules

I'm not sure you suggested asking the moderators to change the rules. Your link suggested I report the post, not propose a rule change.

Maybe in future when you ask a store for a deal you can suggest they post the deal themselves, and if you feel the need you can ask them to give you credit in the description for your suggestion to post. That would lead to a fairer representation of deal quality.

                          • @iamherenow: Newsflash - no one cares how you "feel". Take a valium and get some sleep. That's enough internet for one day.

                      • @iamherenow: Except they aren't?

                • @deva5610: I agree that TA is an asset. But TA is he, not they.

                  • @bob19: Well I didn't (nor was I really bothered to) know what gender TA is, so "they" worked.

          • +28

@iamherenow: See, this is where you have no idea at all. Why run your mouth with accusations with no proof at all? I wouldn’t normally bite but I’ll tell you exactly what happened, just so you can sleep better tonight.

I reached out to MC two days ago and asked if I could post a 10% sitewide deal with a TA code as I hadn’t done one in a while. They told me why not wait two days and run 12% for their birthday instead.

            Would you knock it back?

            • -7

@tightarse: But you are also organising rep attendance at your post. Feels like you are associated to me.

              • +8

@iamherenow: Go through my posts. I must be associated to a shitlload of stores. You must be new here. Good night.

      • +2

If the store rep posts this deal, they would not get more than 10 positive votes. They approach the influencers to get votes.

        • +3

Wrong way around for me. I approach the stores. I think my record speaks for itself. All the best.

          • +1

@tightarse: In future, with your influence on votes, you should ask mobileciti for a phone or something in return for posting. You posting the deal rather than them would really pay off for them.

          • +1

@tightarse: @TA - Looking at your history of posts, I wouldn’t say that you are like that. In fact, You have negotiated many deals with various stores for our benefit. But my comments was in general, because I am an Airtasker and I usually see many store reps post Airtasker job asking influencers OZB to post the deal for them in return of a payment.

            • +5

@sarahGhazi: As I said, I don’t need or want kickbacks, although many have tried. I screenshot anyone that makes monetary offers and show the mods so they’re aware of the approach. I refuse to deal with them as their intentions are disingenuous.

            • @sarahGhazi: sarahGhazi, please report any of these airtasker jobs you see to moderators using the Talk with a Moderator. It is acceptable for people paid to post on behalf of stores ONLY IF they mark themselves as associated when posting.

        • I agree, this is the world we live in. Not saying this is how it works for TA, matter of fact may of us don't really care if there's any associations behind the scene, nobody is entitled to anything, I would rather there's benefits for someone when someone's work benefits other people, so that I know this kind of relation can last longer.

Some may put a magnifier on and ask that to be disclosed, yes that is the right thing to do, but if TA is not comfortable or don't see its appropriate, its ok, its an open forum, we still love deals from TA and would like to keep it this way 😀

      • Please use Talk with a Moderator or the report link in future. Publicly accusing users is not helpful nor especially welcoming to members.

    • iPad Air 5th gen pretty good @ 816.44 after discount! Shame I've got a newish tablet already

Just saying, 12% doesn’t make sense. It should have been 23% for 23rd birthday

    • +12

Will wait for their 100th birthday!!!

      • +19

        100th, still 12%.

        • Thats, 12 upvotes for ya..

      • After 100th bday they pay you!

    • Thought the same

may be 23 dollar off over $200

    • +1

ozbargain: Came here for the 12%, left with a sadder feeling of not as good bargain as 23% .. = average bargain at best.

The standards here are high my master

    • Up to 23% off, but only one unpopular item actually is.

  • Are the iphones au stock or overseas models? Can someone advise?

    • +2

      Au Stock

    • +12

Do yourself a favour and do not buy an iPhone from them. As a matter of fact, stay away from them completely. There are offers posted quite often where you can get 10% apple gift card or something. Monileciti sold me open box phone as brand new. There are many horror stories. Just search their past phone threads on Ozbargain. I would stay miles away from them. They literally lied to my face because before purchasing, I point blank asked them if the phone was brand new in box and when I went to collect it the plastic wrap was broken and resealed. I had to take it as it was a birthday present and I was time pressured. But never again.

      • Hi

Sorry to hear your issues, this 100% brand new / sealed.

      • +3

Thanks for the headsup bro. I'll stay away..hoping for a decent ebay deal

      • +4

Not saying this because I posted the deal. I purchased myself a new iPhone 13 Pro Max and my wife a standard iPhone 13 from MC recently and both arrived exactly as they would from Apple store. No issues at all.

        • +9

I am glad TA. Same as you shared your experience with them, I shared mine 😊

        • +1

I have no issues with my iPhone purchases from MC.

      • +5

I second that, stay away from them, they only want your cash, no after sales service whatsoever

    • +6

Be aware of some dodgy practices by this company https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/664625. You will similar stories on other post too.

Thanks been eyeing the pixel 2 for a while.
Pixel 2 XL seems a decent deal as well

Hey at least Apple is not excluded like most promos. AirPods Max pink $594.

  • So 1319 for iPhone 13 256Gb, which is pretty good.

Search previous phone purchase experiences on Ozbargain first before buying anything from them. Specially iPhones.

this 100% brand new / sealed. we also offer 30 days return if you not happy with condition when you received it.

        • +3

That’s what you told me last time and to tens of other people.

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/611462?page=1#comment

          • @ashftc: Yes, that's why I have mentioned this is "brand new sealed" above. any issues you can reach me directly, I will promised I can resolve any issues for you.

          • +2

@ashftc: Yep, same here. I have purchased two mobiles from this company. The first was "brand new" and arrived with dents in the case. The store representative quoted this policy and then deducted 25% of the purchase price to restock the item on the basis that the box had been opened when the only way to discover the defects was to open the box and the mobile was returned in exactly the same condition in which it was received. My other purchase was Australian stock that was not Australian stock. They have completely lost my trust.

            • @lumiere: ACL + Fair Trading = job done.

              • @KangaDrew:

                ACL + Fair Trading

They are both toothless tigers as they are inundated with cases.

              • @KangaDrew: No need too, just send me the PM with your issues, I will simply resolve it for you ;)

                • +1

@AHUANG: I don't have any issues because I don't ever buy from Mobileciti

            • @lumiere:

The first was "brand new" and arrived with dents in the case.

Was the Apple seal completely intact?

The store representative quoted this policy and then deducted 25% of the purchase price to restock the item on the basis that the box had been opened

That's completely illegal if it is not a change of mind return.

With so many reports of dodgy dealings from this merchant, probably best not to purchase from them in the future.

$1 off the iPad 12” pro cellular 128GB. I’ll be sure not to spend it all at once.

    • $1 off a Roborock S7 too… what a Joke.

      • That's the sale price before you apply the coupon code at checkout. I just checked and the vac ends up $191 cheaper.

      • Better than Roborock's May Mayhem sale which was RRP with free shipping.

  • +1

I bought two iPhones and one Apple Watch from their eBay store, all brand new with zero issue.

      • +1

I also had a really good after sale experience with them. Bought an iPhone XR in 2019 from their eBay store, however, I changed my mind after they shipped the phone, so I messaged them, got a reply immediately with all return labels. No issue with return and refund. That why I am quite surprised about some others' bad experiences reported here…

  • After the last deal with the mi band 5. Im quite sceptical of this company. Have to be singaporean or hong oong stock for the iphones.
