My code of anyone needs it.

  • I’d buy these but I can’t get a Quad Lock case for it nor my preferred Spigen

    • +1

Here is a link to the spigen case for it. I went with a xundd case for my find X3 pro since it seemed to protect better than the spigen and used a quadlock universal adapter on the back. So far it's handled some interesting speeds quite well on the motorbike

      • Ah that’s good there’s at least one

      • Couldn't find a link for that case - does it have the quadlock integrated? Search for Xundd find X3 Pro brings little joy, some cases but none with a lock built in.

        • The xundd case can be found on AliExpress. Doesn't come with the quad lock mount, I just buy the universal mount and stick it on.

          • @DangerNoodle: How did you find your XUNDD case for the X3 Pro? There doesnt seem to be many cases for the X5 Pro but curious on your take? Thanks in advance!

            • @Jeiiel: There are some things that I like about it over other cases like the spigen, but there are some things I don't like as much.

I like that the xundd cases offer decent all round protection with a decent lip for the front and that there's enough flat surface on the rear for me to stick my quadlock adapter onto. I'm on the fence about the camera cutouts, I feel like it would look better and be easier to clean the camera lenses if the cutouts went around each lens rather than sitting on the lenses. I didn't like the spigen for this phone because I felt like it didn't protect the camera lenses well enough and the hole is too small to allow you to use some of the camera protectors. With the xundd case, I bought both the matte finish back and gloss back. The matte is surprisingly slippery and the gloss is a fingerprint magnet. Both cases also don't seal too well around the charging hole so you do get dust build up from there. I've been told by work colleagues that they liked the xundd case on my phone because the black of the X3 pro is more of a mirror finish, so they can use the whole back of the phone through the xundd case to frame their selfie shots using the full res rear cameras.

The case I liked more in terms of design and functionality was this one from AliExpress, but my only gripes with this case were that it's not thick enough to provide a decent lip over the front and they use a softer silicon. If they had made this case using a similar TPU to the spigen and xundd cases and made it thicker it would definitely be my go to case.

Looks like there's a xundd case for the find x5 series

    • Universal quad lock on any flat (Eg plain old silicon) case works well. I actually used gorilla glue to make sure it stuck well and no issues.

      • Yeah I’ve done that for a spare phone to mount in the garage. I used glue-dots from Bunnings that work remarkably well.

It’s not an elegant solution which turns me away lol

      • I didn't bother with gorilla glue, the 3M tape that comes with the universal adapter is good enough. Haven't had any issues on a naked motorbike at fun speeds. I've even had one on an old phone vertically mounted being used as a dash cam and no issues at fun speeds too. That being said I ride a four cylinder so no harsh vibrations.

Noooooo i just want the regular x5 on special. 6.7 inches is too big

  • +5

    Have they found X yet?

    • +1

Not this time. But they were close.

  • +1

    This or a Samsung ultra?

    • Samsung Ultra. I think $1200 brings this phone down to its fair value.

    • +1

This for sure, those Ultra edges are real annoying.

      • Isn’t this one also has curved edges?

    • +1

Where can I get a 256GB S22 Ultra for this price?

      • It's slightly more with trade in bonus, but close enough if worthwhile

I mean, great discount and all but you gotta be crazy to spend anywhere around, let alone over $1000 on a phone.

    • +1

      Damn, that’s most of us…

Look out mate, us crazies are coming to eat yer brain!

    • +1

Like most people, haven’t spent less than $1,000 on a phone for 10 years or more!

    • +3

Yep. Got note 10 plus for $650, android 12, 12G ram. Future proof for another 4 years. S21 has been even cheaper.

      • Hi sir, may I know where you buy it? Its new? Cheers

        • These deals were last year

          • @Ashy Larry: Oh got it. Do you think it is still worthed to buy it now? The excellent grade one. Cheers

    • +3

you gotta be crazy to spend anywhere around, let alone over $1000 on a phone.

… but it is perfectly okay to be on a $119 per month contract for 24 months.

    • +1

$400 for the x5 lite was right in my wheelhouse. I can't believe another $800 would be worth the spend, especially when they have removed the SD card slot and 3.5mm jack.

    • Actually a lot of people i know havent spent more than $1000 on a phone, the closest i came is about $680 i think. But i do have some friends who buy the top end phones on release so they would be spending 1500$ or more.

I would invest in an Oppo only its around sub 600. Talking about resale value: If I'd invest 1300 in an iPhone, I'd get at least 50 percent of the value in an year, with Oppo, you'd hardly get 25% back

    • +8

You're doing something wrong if you are investing in mobile phones

      • -4

Anything that you pay money for and with the expectation of achieving a profit is called "investing".

        • +1

The phone loses value once you open the box. How is this profit and investing?
