  • What's the situation like with replacement batteries for these? I'm guessing they die within 1-2 years, so having the ability to purchase replacements seem mandatory when it comes to cordless vacuums.

I had the Dreame V9, on arrival it had battery issues. I emailed Gearbite and they sent out a new battery (express post). I got that in 2019 and still going good.

    • My battery also die within a year, not sure why the battery is so bad or it's normal to other types of cordless vacuums.

  • Tempting. Reviews look solid. Got a family house with mostly hard floors, so I like the addition of the soft roller, but yeah lack of replaceable battery has me on the fence…

  • Batteries cannot be replaced ?

    • Detachable batteries, easy to remove and snap on.

    • They're replaceable via few torx screws. The battery has a "docking" connector, so it's easy to just attach a replacement battery.

  • pars with v8 animals money

based on ozb feedback , dyson > dreame , anyday ?

  • The combo has been $366.75 before, but this is an alright deal with inflation and what not.

to be fair , that one was afterpay+ebayplus deal

  • Had a v9 for about three years but probably seeing its last legs. Harder to find replacement batteries for it given its an older model… Seems like I can only get it from China and quite costly.

They are good but Dyson pricing is much more comparable with recent deals than three years ago and replacement Batts are easier to find, hence moving over!

  • This one or dyson v7?

      Both suck

    • v8 animals for 399 instock

      v8 2022 was 449 OOS

Man, I've had the worst experience with customer support with our dreame. Motorized head buggered up (something dozens of people experienced on the backer page), and they want nothing to do with fixing it.

    (profanity) them, can't recommend

I have a Dreame - v9 I think. Works great but a bit delicate and is falling apart in a few ways. It’s not as easy to disassemble or procure parts as a Dyson so I’m moving in that direction.

For me the soft roller worked well on all surfaces.

  • From Dream website, so warranty is a big issue if anything goes wrong:

I bought one from the last deal and bought the extra head seperately, cost $410 in total, so this is a good deal. Pretty happy with it so far. Coming from Hoover Lynx and Bosch Athlet. The suction on this is on par with those. The Dreame charging dock is great, as is the charge indicator. I LOVE how easy it is to swap attachments on this, that has always been a pain on previous vacs I've had.

On the negative side… the dust seems to fill the area around the inlet first. That means it packs tight very quickly, so I always have use my fingers to remove the dust. Not standing up on it's own is annoying but not many do that these days.

I think I slightly prefer the weight distribution of the bottom heavy stick vac like the athlet. They are easier to push and steer. On carpet I sometimes I have use both hands to get it move around smoothly. But that's pretty minor an unlikely to worry you if you're used to the Dyson style.

  • Did anyone has these shipped yet? I placed an order on Monday and still haven't received a shipped notification from Gearbite.

    • Reached out to gearbite and got a reply - seems like this is on backorder and will be available in July
