  • Would recharging add 365 days from plan expiry date or from the day of recharging

    • I think it's from the day of recharging.

    • thats what im wondering as well as an existing customer, have 60 days left after the 31st of July.

  • anyone know how long the esim takes to arrive? been 30 and gotten nothing

  • Can I port in my current number? I'm with Vodaphone

    Welcome Back to Kogan.com

Oh no. I forgot about all the emails!! 😱

  • Can anyone who is an existing Kogan customer, who added this, confirm if the 365 days gets added to the remaining plan?

    • called Kogan, and makes sense.
All current Kogan credits will be overrided.

    • Any Kogan voucher would wipe previous ones.

      • yeap thanks !

  • To anyone that bought this, does your email have the same expiry date as the item listing?

Or is it further down the track like in the $14.90 for 90 days thread

    • +1

The voucher has got the same expiry date as the item listing "Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEST on 31/07/2022."

  • Does it stack with existing contracts? Assume no but double checking

    • It does!

      • +1

        ?

I must be misunderstanding. Your post above- Any Kogan voucher would wipe previous ones.

        • Apologies I wanted to say “it doesn’t”. You need to wait that previous voucher has expired or it’ll wipe previous

      • Sorry meant it doesn’t

  • How to check the strength of Vodafone coverage in my area?

  • I just bought this 2 weeks ago when it was on sales for $180 and haven't even activated yet since they did not send me the sim. Has to contact Kogan customer service as I could not find any sim in their listed 7-Eleven stores and they offered to send me esim. Still haven't received it but gave it a try and asked the customer service staff to give me a credit of $30 but they said I ordered more than 14 days ago so they could not give me store credit….

Mate if you paid for something that never arrived don't take no for an answer, tell them you want a refund or fill out the dispute form on the fair trading website.

  • Dear all, currently I am with iiNet mobile plan, very slow, I am thinking to switch to Boost. Any suggestions? I did the speed test, less than 1.5mbps download, less than 0.5mbps…….

  • This is an amazing deal.

    • It's ok, I'm paying $8 for 50gb with circles. I would prefer vodo in my area though

  • Use to be on Kogan for years then switched to Telstra 5g plan via jbhifi.
Plan ended during Xmas and Kogan had 2 for 1 so same price.
I feel the service has gone worse as majority of the calls randomly drop and I get pretty bad reception.

I changed Sims incase it was bad, about to use a temporary phone to rule out it's my s20 ultra.
But my experience so far is like 80% plus drop calls.
I have 8 family and friends on Kogan and no1 has experienced what I have so far.

    • It's clearly just you then

    • I can second this, I live not far from Melbourne cbd and calls/texts drop quite often, their service has gone down as well as their stock 😞

  • Purchased this same deal at the start of the year. When I redeemed the 500GB it showed up as 550GB in the Kogan mobile app. No idea how one goes though that much data though…

6 Months into the year, I've only used 14% (77GB) of it. Do people watch full length feature films on the way to work every day?

    • Yes, haven't you seen the people on the train?

    • Ahha lol, probably they do! I work 5 minutes from my home so no much commuting I’m also a light user (probably need around 90-100gb a year).

  • Hmmm tempting to get this one. Its just that i dont want to stay for the whole 1 year if their signal/connection sucks in my area. I wish they have the 180days kinda deal.

    • It's literally $2.90 to buy the starter pack. 20gb for 30 days. Don't renew if your not happy

      • Wait, isn’t this for the whole year? So you are going to stuck for it for the whole year, isn’t it?

        • The deal posted is for a while year, yes.

The starter packs are for 30 days.

  • I think this is the first time they've had this deal that existing customers can use. I have my kids on it and always have to port off/on to use it.

  • Can a Kogan gift card be used with this offer?

    • Yes

  • +2

Sweet! Postpaid plan with JB hifi just ended, time to stop paying $99 a month and instead average of $12.50 a month, now that extra money can go towards fuel! :D

  • I ordered the night this was posted.

I don't think my sim has posted yet. Has anyone else had their sim posted?

    • nope :(

      • Emailed them and they told me I accidentally clicked no sim.. So they are sending me a sim now.

        So maybe contact them.

        • they told me the same thing, funnily enough. and i swear i remember clicking the physical sim option. today they sent an email that they had trouble sending them out. seems fishy but at least theyve sent them out?

  • Does anyone know how the eSIM work? I already have a Kogan SIM and wanted an eSIM to use with my smartwatch, would that work? Or will the plan just attach to either or.

  • Will this work if I buy a sim in person from 7Eleven?
    I need today.

    • +1

They send you a code to activate online so it works with any Kogan sim card you have.

      • Would it work with an old kogan sim? Lol

        • +1

you can try. Iirc, sims do have expiry date.

  • Been with kogan for the last couple of years but recently I've been having really shit reception in the last couple months. in the middle of the sydney inner west with 0 bars of reception. jfc

  • If I'm not happy with the coverage/signal, I'm free to just port to or back to another provider without having to wait until the end of expiry right? I know you will lose money that way by not staying until the end but as long as you are not 'locked' in, I'm fine to try.

Probably a silly question but just wanted to confirm because a few comments have mentioned something along the line of don't want to be "stuck" with them for one year if signal is bad etc.

    • +1

Yes, you are correct that you can port out at any time, it's the usual prepaid arrangement.

Their $2.90 Starter Pack would be a cheaper way to test your coverage though. You may be required to hand in your OzBargain membership if you spend $150 testing out the coverage.

      • Thanks for that. Should I get a new number to test the coverage instead of porting my main number for testing purpose?

        • +2

I suggest it depends on the situation with your current phone plan and whether you've got a dual-SIM phone.

Seeing as how this deal must be activated by the end of July, I'll assume you're looking to port your number soon. And seeing as how this deal is ending on Thursday, there's not much time to test your coverage before buying it. One option is:

          1. Buy the $2.90 Starter Pack now. They'll email the code to you immediately.
          2. Buy a $2 SIM from 7-Eleven and start using it straight away by porting your main number.
          3. Test your coverage between now and Thursday, and if you're happy with it then spend the $150 on this 365-day deal. They'll email another code for that one.
          4. After the 30-day Starter Pack has finished (or when you run out of data), recharge with the 365-day one.

If you're not happy with the coverage then port back to another network, and you've only spent $4.90.

Do not let the 30-day automatically recharge when it finishes because subsequent 30-day periods are $20 for 10GB.

Having a dual-SIM phone would let you test out the coverage with a new number and keep using your main number at the same time without porting it.

  • How do you get the free kogan first membership?

    • +1

I activated already but no kogan first membership

      • I contacted support. They said an email will come within 30 days of activation, to the purchasing account. Not holding my breath.

      • Did you get this yet? It's been about 30 days for me since activation, but no word.

        • i did a few days ago
