      They are probably referring to how some apps sunset old versions and relaunch a new, nearly identical version with a number after it and charge again. Tweetbot comes to mind as doing this multiple times. I don't know anything about the Pixelmator people or if they plan to do this though

        Looks like they released this app in 2018, upgrading from classic which had been around since 2007.

        They just did a big upgrade of pro in April. So I don’t know if they would be shelving the app for something new?

              That was recently updated. The Mac release looks like it might not be on the App Store, and was last updated in November. Looks like they’re committed to occasional support updates but it’s probably not getting new features.

              Probably no reason to buy it anyway if you didn’t have it as Pro at $30.99 is probably cheaper anyway than it was anyway.

        Thanks. I know a lot of companies sunset their apps and launch a brand new app for a major release, but Pixelmator Pro has been around for quite a few years and I haven't heard any rumblings of a relaunched new app coming anytime soon. Either way, this is a WAY better price than the recurring subscription plans that so many software companies use these days.

      bought it. figured i've used the demo enough to warrant getting the full upgraded version.
