    Warning

I purchased an iPhone back in 2018 from these guys and it wasn’t functioning correctly. (screen wasn’t registering)… sent it back.

They then advised it was “water damaged” which was impossible.

Had to get Paypal to investigate/they issued the refund.

    Avoid

Out of curiosity, how do they have 100% positive feedback on eBay then?

      • +1

I don’t think it counts lifetime but perhaps moving average? I may be wrong.

      • +2

Feedback is removed after 12 months. But it does suggest that they have improved.

      • +4

They have 33 Neutral feedback over the last 12 months out of 2988 reviews. But Zero Negative which is extremely rare for a seller with so many total sales. I will definitely purchase from them again but will buy on Ebay instead of their direct Greengadgets website just to be sure with Ebay Buyer Protection if there is a problem with any item but most people seem happy.

        • +1

ebay buyer protection only last 60 days

you still have paypal protection though
          which last 180 days.

I placed a negative review after an unnecessary ebay dispute. I was unhappy with their slow replies and extended resolution. Feedback got removed. Went reading and apparently sellers can get feedback deleted if the buyer mentions a dispute.

These guys know how to play the feedback game. Prices seemed attractive but you take a risk and hope you're not one of the unlucky ones.

I had a similar problem with an Amazon seller they sent me a counterfeit item and I took photo’s of the item and posted a review just stating I received a counterfeit item and Amazon deleted it and would not let me post another for that item. It is so annoying when big companies try and silence customers.

I purchased a "Very Good" condition iPhone from them a few years ago, the phone ended up being scuffed on the front and back. It wasn't even cleaned as it had debris in the ports and muck around the frame. Took 2 weeks to finally get a refund since even after receiving it they did nothing, eBay had to get involved and confirmed with my POD.

Damn that sounds bad lucky you paid with Paypal. Not many businesses have high scoring ratings on Productreview though and they have a rating of 4.8 out of 1105 reviews. Myself I was lucky I purchased an iphone last year from them and it said very good condition and looked new and battery was good for second hand at 94% battery health. Anyhow I will try and delete this post as there are 2 people with problems now commenting and it has only just been posted.

Rectifying issues and/or offering a refund if product is faulty seems like a clear way for a retailer to get better online reviews.

    • You know how easy it is to create fake dummy accounts on product review and Google. I bet there's a lot of single reviews on product review to confirm that…

      • +1

The Ebay reviews are mostly very good though which you need to purchase to leave a review.

I bought a 7+ from this seller a few years back and it was perfect. I have followed their deals ever since. 28k deals on eBay, 100% positive feedback. Fairly priced (not always the cheapest) and great with Plus coupons when available. I’d take this seller over most others any day of the week. Plus you can send it back if something is wrong.

My purchases with greengadet are all good. Ipad pro 2 for my daughter, Note 20 ultra for mum; iphone x, note 10 plus and fold 2 for myself. Currently am interested in iphone 12 mini or any imcoming i13 stock.

All devices arrived super quick. Only the fold 2 has a hair thin scratch at the front screen and that is so far the worst condition phone from them. The scratch becomes invisible on screen lighting up so not a big problem to me. I now only buy good condition as it is good enough.

Above negative comments actually surprised me. My experience is really positive especially with those regular ebay discounts :)

Isn't it cheaper here https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/185412694281 $287.82 with the same coupon

    • Thank you for the link. Price seems much better I will bookmark this store.

    • Great find you can always Post that as a deal it’s cheaper than mine and I did not find that when searching so apologies the deal I posted is not the cheapest.

Have bought from these guys before. Was a great buy

  • So general consensus is that these guys are hit and miss?

    • +3

Maybe have a search on here for previous offers from Green Gadgets and see other reviews because the first 2 comments here were people with bad experiences. If you are buying a refurbished phone from Boost or Coles they are supplied by Alegre as well which is Green Gadgets.

  • So this isn't the current model, right? It's the older one?

    • +1

This one is the 2nd generation 2020 model. The current one is the 3rd Generation 2022 model.

Notwithstanding the possible quality issues from this seller, the phone is excellent. I’ve had mine for 18 months and it’s as new. Fast and stable. Same with my wife’s. Battery can last me 2 days usually if I don’t spend hours on it each day.

I had an issue with a phone I bought from them - brought it to Apple and they told me it's water damaged - then they refused the return as a 3rd party (Apple!) opened the phone. I would avoid them. You might be lucky …
