  • cant see the 75"?

  • Should I go for TCL or sony X90J

    • X90J is last generation TV that was a competitor to the c825. the c835 has far more dimming areas, is a newer generation and cheaper. For me it is an easy decision.

      • +2

I agree with the X90J being 2021 model and this c835 is 2022 model and have more dimming zones. However, newer and more dimming zones does not guarantee an overall better picture quality. It comes down to how well the processing can use that many dimming zones.

I can see your perspective. There has been an online comparison of these two tvs posted on AVforums. General consensus is that the c835 wins out. All about person preference.

    • lol

Considering OLEDs superior local dimming and viewing angle and prices are very similar to LG's C1 - I'd opt to go for the OLED here - Thankfully I can control for brightness in the room, so your milage may vary.

    • +1

LG C1 at similar prices? Where?

      • I purchased a C1 65" @ Good Guys when they had 15% off uncapped cashback, worked out to be about $2,550 after cashback (they were selling it for $2995 at the time which is about $500 cheaper than what they have it advertised now)

    • 100%, OLED is something that's worth the extra if you care about the picture quality at all.

      • Totally agree, having both OLED and LCD it's far far superior.

        • You have mini led and oled?

  • 75" for $3200 better with Samsung Neo QA85B I think.

  • +2

The integrated speakers on these TCLs are very good compared to other brands' built-in. It's no match for a dedicated soundbar but it's quite usable as is.

    but tcl

Definitely would spend the few hundred more for the LG C1.

I know the deal is over but im just using that past deal as an example of the kinda deals that's possible for the LG C1

I own a 55C9 and although I agree with this, I also disagree.

WebOS is shit and so are the speakers. Yes you can solve that but that's more money + extra things to configure/switch input etc.

This has great speakers, Google TV and no risk of burn in.

Depends on your use case, obviously.

      • +2

Personally i hate all TV's Operating systems and prefer Apple TV or Nvidia Shield but WEB OS has been the best ive used and personally it has always been fast and lag free even on my old cheap 43" from like 2018 i had before my 55" LG A1 OLED (before the C1 prices got so low). Everytime ive used a TV with Android it's always lagged so much.

Not to be rude but who the hell buys an OLED to use the internal speakers?

        • Someone who planned to get around to buying a proper setup but is constrained by a) space to put them and b) $

I got greedy and wanted the picture quality but now everything else suffers haha

      • +1

Speakers and webos is fine on my C1 fast and snappy enough for me not to buy a chromecast, burn in hasn't been an issue for a while now…

  • Or the A80J at good guys ebay for $1895 with code FYXTRA

  • apparently they have fake 120hz mode

  • I was considering the c826 for $1700 atm.
Is the c835 worth the extra $700 premium ?

  • +1

Was considering this but c935 is probably the model you want. Not released yet tho.

Went for c1 instead as it is only a couple of hundred more. Ppl saying miniled is better choice for bright living room but thought the c1 is bright enough with some thin blinds on.

  • I used SAVE7TB on ebay and got the 75C727 for $1,430 delivered. Good deal!

  • Any rtings.com reviews?

    • Not as yet.

  • Yeah. I bought the 55” c835 on a price protection card and I imagine the price sliding further down where as OLED price is only going up. I wanted the 42” C2 the price has gone $2.2k, $2.4 and now about $2.6k. Wild. Also, the sound system on this is pretty solid and also the extra brightness is the big winner for me over OLED.

    • Using it for gaming? I am thinking of getting and hooking my pc up to it… would love to know your opinions on it

      • Picking up Monday

        • Got mine yesterday, hooked up to an RTX 3080 so far so good!

          • @Kybakz: Nice! how is 4k @ 144hz? any issues?

            • @hexedhavoc: I'm loving it, no issues so far and gsync working great!

              • @Kybakz: does it do 120 or 144hz 4k rgb 10bit?? if it does i might take the punt

oh also can you try 2560x1440 at 144hz and see how that looks? also see if that does rgb 10bit also, cheers

  • hmm, can get it for $1483… so tempting but hard to pull trigger with no proper reviews :/

  • Can't decide if I should jump on this. Have an 11 y.o 60" plasma. Want something bigger, 65 not enough of an increase, so 75. Would like OLED but don't think it will ever be in the price range I'm willing to accept. Seems like mini-LED is the next best thing, and (very) limited reviews seem positive.. Important for me after picture quality is no shuddering, not sure if this has real 100hZ motion or not. etc. etc. I watch sport, youtube, Netflix etc. No gaming on this.

  • This isn't expired - sets are still at the deal prices until July 10.
