Hi guys. Some great news after days of discussion with Pizza Hut (don't worry, I haven't been ignoring your comments lol). We're making good to Cashrewards members that may have been impacted during last Friday's Pizza Hut glitch. So if you don't have a successfully tracked Pizza Hut purchase showing in your Cashrewards account, you should now have a $10 credit instead (please check).

It's going to save you needing to submit a claim (please do not lodge any tickets), and hopefully goes some way to restoring faith in Pizza Hut for the downtime last Friday.     Had an absolute nightmare of a night with my pizza hut order.

    Ordered 6:16pm, CR tracking came at 6:20pm.

    It was my first time ordering from PH. Didn't receive any email from them but I had order# on the order page.

    Restaurant kept saying there was an issue with their system and they didn't receive my order.

    Received pizza 8:20pm.

    My order page still says this even if I refresh it:

    YOUR ORDER TRACKING IS LOADING, THIS PAGE WILL UDPATE SOON.
    Your order will be ready for pickup
    Tonight at 6:31PM

    Just because it tracked with CR, doesn't mean it tracked with PH.

    Very much same. Order pick up was @ 6:33 and came home with pizza @8pm. Feel for franchises to be honest, lots of unhappy customers and poor guys not only have to work through orders that were coming through but also orders they were not in system (while system had glitch).

      I used CC as well, one of the Coles 10% mastercards, PH transaction is pending, thinking maybe tracking will go through went the transaction clears.

      • Usually it tracked instantly… not sure what has gone wrong.

        • My last few times have not gone well. I've disabled adblocker, and still it doesn't track for Pizza Hut. All other sites track beautifully even within the Cashrewards site (Gift cards, Avis car rental, Amazon, etc)

          • @t25: Have you disabled adblocker on Pizza Hut as well? Not just CR. I disabled adblocker on CR, but it wasn't for PH, and whilst in the past it used to track fine the last 2-3 times didn't. This time I noticed it was enabled on PH website, and the page wasn't loading correctly when I was going to order so I disabled on PH, re-launched via CR, completed pre-order and it actually tracked this time!

            TL:DR: enable adblocker on both CR and PH.

            • @Craze: I just rechecked all my steps and I did a browser wide disable of adblock. This is the steps I took:

              1) disable adblocker completely,
              2) open new browser window starting with OzB > CR > Pizza Hut (recheck disabled adblocker)
              3) proceed to ordering without switching back since I write down any codes I use before hand
              4) pay with credit card.

              • @t25: Sounds like we have similar experience, as I re-read and you've mentioned other sites track without issues. Same for me, PH used to track well in the past, then it stopped working. I also noticed Ubereats can be a bit of a hit and miss, and no changes to my settings in between orders.

              • @t25: By default extensions cannot run in private mode unless you specifically tell it to.

                Next time easier to open browser in private/incognito to ensure that all extensions are blocked.

    @TA, here's the question for you. I was charged twice though paypal for 1 order. I end up calling 13xxxx number to cancel the order, now they will reach out to to store to confirm before arranging refund.

    how it would make sure CR doesn't invalidate the valid order that went through and don't knock the cashback due to this incorrect charge i cancelled.

      Did your phone automatically connected to home wifi? I had the same issue at first. I restarted my phone and turned off WiFi. After that it worked fine. Try it.

      • I was lucky. I managed to get Paypal to refund the first "purchase" as it was just debited, and there was no actual order. It took a while, but I managed to get a valid order in later when things calmed down and everything tracked.

  • i pre ordered my 2 for 1 Tuesday deal and paied $15.95 but cashrewards now has a $15.95 cashback pending, with approval date mid-July…. is this normal? i am only expecting $10?

      i think that's because it's 100% cashback. it'll get updated to $10 as that's the cap.

          For next time you don't need a coupon. Change day to Tuesday and it automatically applied.

  • Ordered at 9:01PM, Pizza arrived at 9:35, haven't got confirmation email yet from cashrewards nor it shows up in "My rewards". If it isn't instant how long could it take? I did this deal last time it was around and it went through instantly so not sure what happened this time.

    Hey TA, just for future, is it possible to use the same Paypal account across two separate Cashreward accounts (my wifes and I's) and still qualify for the promotion without issue? There wasn't a conclusive answer in the thread.

  • What should people do who had the payment error where you were charged but no PH email and no cashrewards tracking. Fortunately local pizza hut honoured based only on paypal receipt even though no record of order. Means PH got my business but I lost out on the deal. Can't see cashrewards honouring a paypal receipt.

    The immense popularity of this deal really shows just how far we're willing to go to save a few dollars at this time where the cost of nearly everything is going up so fast and our wages are staying the same.

    My local food bank is also being overwhelmed. Every Monday night more people turn up for a free meal many more than just a few short years ago.

    I liked the deal just not the extremely busy store. Next time I'll pre-order for any other night and put the kettle on and have some noodles instead.

    So my thanks go to CashRewards and my thanks do go to Pizza Hut. I hope they can learn from the experience and upgrade their servers and get some more customer service training improvements. A simple acknowledgement of the severe delays experienced would have gone a long way to leaving satisfied.

    I went to the cash rewards website then followed the link to pizza hut and put in a pick up order which I later picked up. I also used an ANZ credit card. However there is no sign of my transaction when I log into cash rewards.
    What should I do?

  • hi @tightarse I did not receive an email from PH about my order and the store said they didn't receive it. However, I have tracking email.

    In the circumstance that PH does not complete the order from their end, is there anything that can be done to file a claim without PH email? There are quite a lot of us who did not receive any email from PH when we ordered.

    If you have a contact with PH, I can provide my order number, so they can see why we didn't get email and complete the purchase, is that possible?

      • Yep, it is tracked and I can see it in my CR account. I have a record of it on my Pizza Hut account, however, there is no tracking available for the pizza.

        I can DM you a link to the order, it says:

        I believe the order is in limbo. So it will never get confirmation from PH.

        • You could try head office and ask them to resend the confirmation email, I tried that twice and both times they said it should arrive in 5-10mins but it failed both times, may work for you could of just been my account or email, I ended up cancelling and refund but you've already collected.
