took me a while to find but both of these are VA btw. fwiw.

    • +2

      What do you mean VA

      • +31

        Very Attractive

      • +8

The display panel type is VA

"VA stands for vertical alignment and is a a type of LED (a form of LCD) panel display technology. VA panels are characterized as having the best contrast and image depth among the other main types of display panels, TN (twisted nematic)and IPS (in-plane switching), but also the longest response times."

I'm sick of these gamers who have nothing better to do in life who complain about everything: the panel, freesync, refresh rate…

For normal users (work and some entertainment) this is one of the best bang for the buck, just look up reviews on youtube.

Basically this is a one of its kind monitor with all the samsung TV features built in (it includes a remote), wireless DEX for your phone, remote controlling PC (yes the MONITOR has wifi), office 365 WITHOUT a computer… The newest model M8 even comes with a modular webcam

      • +2

VA and IPS debates aside, this panel is only 250 nits, I use mine near a window without direct sunlight and compared to my laptop screen, it's so painfully low in brightness that it hurts.

Make sure you're using it in a darker area if purchasing for office or WFH.

        • Newer M8 model is 400nits and the stand is height adjustable. Too bad it's twice the price.

          • @pongie: Worse it's not versa compatible

      • Those features are honestly a niche. A 43" 4k monitor for $500? Of course the first question would be if it's IPS.

        • That's a 32 inc price point

    • +1

The most important fact is left out (whether VA or IPS), interesting. I was tempted for a minute until I realised it's a VA panel. No thanks.

      • What is so bad about VA that you immediately reject it?

        • +1

They always want 4k IPS 32" at this price, if not they will call it rubbish.

          • +1

@superforever: I want a 4K IPS 32" at this price. This is rubbish.

            • @db2k: … hang on a second … I already have a 4K IPS 32" 🧐🧐🧐

        • At 43" in your face you'd better hope it's ips or face the wrath of color/gamma shifting.

Black crushing and ghosting are other reasons why people don't like va.

  • +2

Have a 32, really like it. They used to be down ~$300, but not a terrible price

    • Did you post that bargain? At $300 it is a steal. It was briefly $350, but has been this price before

      • +2

I have been watching the price of them. Bought at around 600 a year a go…

It is highly probably that the ~300 he is referring to is the Samsung M5 version. Which is the the FHD (1080) version of this monitor.

  • How can we tell how much stock levels n= actually are?

I know newer revisions of these models have been released and so are stock levels low or what

  • Is the built in PC ok for stand alone web browsing?

    • Just make sure you have a keyboard and mouse

    • +3

It's a very underpowered computer: if you ripped out the guts of a Samsung smart TV running Tizen OS and shoved it inside a monitor, you get the Samsung M7 smart monitor.

The more likely use case is that you'll be using the remote desktop feature and using the processing power of your regular PC or laptop, or you're connecting a Samsung smartphone and using the Dex feature.

  • Damn just bought a S2722QC.. maybe bottom mount this

I wish it were a smaller size, I only need something for 3 months and have a small table.

    • Yeah, feel your pain. It’s not like there are smaller monitors being made

      • I genuinely meant a deal for a smart monitor like this one in a smaller size. If you know one please let me know, I know nothing about monitors.

      • There are no smaller 'smart' monitors able to do simple stuff without a PC being made that I know of.

  • These are very good smart monitors
I’ve had a 32” for about a year and use it as my daily work monitor and occasional smart tv
Mine is mounted on a swivel mount in the corner of my bedroom
The smart functions are okay but I do have a google tv chrome cast for when the apps don’t exist or don't work well enough which isn’t often
The usb-c function works well with with a couple of my picky laptops. It provides ample charge supposedly 65w, accepts 60hz 4K video and connects the usb devices plugged into the monitor. You will need a proper usb-c 3.1 v2 cable to get it work properly though, but you can find them for under $10 delivered.

On the downside if you sit too close the VA panel shows it’s limitations with significant dimming on the sides, but if you sit at a good distance back at over 1 metre it is fine. From a distance the picture is fabulous even if blacks aren’t great.

Honestly, I believe this is great value at this price and if this ticks your boxes I would recommend buying

    • I am interested in the 43"

Can these be mounted to a standard TV bracket?

      • Yes

  • This is likey the 43" 70A (or just M7) model & has an 8ms GTG response time .. the later 70B model for $899 everywhere is 4ms GTG.
    Not sure about the 32".

  • Purchased a 43" at the same price last month.
Apart from took a while to tune its colour, I am very happy with it.
I mainly connect it with my NAS and watch movies, and youtube.
Also able to connect it with my laptop wireless.
Many reviews on Amazon US complain about it's too dim, but I don't find the same issue.

  • Any good for PS5
    ?

    • +1

I have one but I would not use it for any games. Very very slow. Ok features and good for documents etc but any motion even tv shows are average

  • Not the right place but I wanna upgrade my 34" acer predator to a 4k monitor but still have ultrawide and 144hz support, any good recs?

  • How would this work with a MacBook M1 - would the text be crisp and clear or fuzzy?

    • If youre mirroring the Mac's screen, there will be black bars on the sides. Other than that, Christal clear quality if you use a HDMI cable, meh quality if you stream the screen wireless.

  • +2

10/10 use the 32 inch with my XSX, it's bright, juicy colours and crisp. Not much else you can want in a monitor. Also has a built in OS, if that's your thing.

  • Is there much difference compare to Dell S3221QS?

    • Yes the Samsung has no curve, no DP input, no 3.5mm audio output.
The Dell is a desktop office monitor
The Samsung is a multi-use smart monitor with USB-C connectivity

      • wow, no DP input ?!

        • Yeah, its more of a smart TV than a desktop monitor, the USB-C makes up for the lack of DP

  • +2

bought one recently from HN $550, really enjoying it. if it is under $400, just jump on it guys. well worth it.

  • Does this monitor have VESA mount?

    • Yes

  • Recently bought the Dell SE3223Q from last deal and added 4k max firestick, so far so good.

    https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/comparison/d4722106…

    Dell deal back again tomorrow

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/706826

    • No usb-c or smart features?

      • No usb-c or smart features?

No USB-C, just with my firestick 4k max and no speaker only headphone output but colour spec looks better on paper.

  • But but this price is the same as the price on 26/5/22
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/698598

So where is the clearance price ?? Kind of misleading price by officeworks , sorry Op , thx OP for posting

Bought it and it’s the best valued monitor / TV in the market , if only m8 is not too expensive .

  • I have both of these monitors. I bought 32 for 332, 43' for $7xx. i am pretty sure to say that they are a really good deal for someone in entertainment. Only i regret is why bought the 43' so early XD. but anyway I love them.

  • +1

    OOS already

  • I have the 43", it's brilliant, love it.
