Just jumped through a thousand hoops to get the Galaxy S21 FE from JB Hifi and I've now noticed that the price has been reduced at Amazon.

The 128GB variant has been reduced to $719 and is available in Graphite, White and Olive. I'm not sure whether this has 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The 128GB variant from JB HiFi only has 6 so I assume this might be the same.
The 256GB variant (8GB RAM) has also been reduced (to $819) and is available in Graphite Lavendar and Olive. It is also available in white for $898.

how much is the plus? IMO worth getting the plus for larger battery and screen

    • +3

      $1050
The phone is 12 months older than the FE. But if you want a larger screen and battery it's a good price. Personally I like the screen size of the FE

      • I missed the point that this post is for FE

I had a sad story with FE, I at some stage though that S21+ is a bit too large and I got excited about FE release and got it.

while FE felt better in hand, I couldn't come to terms with how much slower it felt (compared to s21+) and I sold it.

got free buds2 with it, the silver lining. went back to s21+ and super happy now haha

        • The haptic feedback is far more refined on the flagships too. I couldn't go back.

        • How much did you pay for the 21+ if you don't mind saying? I'm currently using an A51 and am tempted to get the FE but if the speed difference is really that bad then maybe I'll wait for now….

    • +1

S21+ battery is 4800mAh VS S21FE 4500mAh. Not a massive difference, however the S21+ is 200g VS S21FE at 177g, which is a big difference (for me)

Has anyone had experience with Amazon with ACL claims?

    • -7

yes! They are officially EXEMPT now. Then again who really cares anyway.

      • +3

Care to explain how they are exempt? Big thing if they are. Thanks.

wish I had time but the reality is if things get totally out of control the weapons come out. Opinions then vary!

Your post makes zero sense. Amazon actively facilitates processing of any returns under the ACL. I have returned a pair of earphones (purchased for $90) that stopped working after the return period, but within 3 months of purchase and they processed it without any questions, and even paid me for the return shipping.

@payless69: What heck are you smoking buddy?… You need to share..

              • @payless69: May be get off the meth and you'll start making some sense.

Doubtful if they sell Australian stock and have an Australian ABN they are not EXEMPT.. and it's actually a pretty big deal.. if it's by a third party international through Amazon well that's a different story

        • if it's by a third party international through Amazon well that's a different story

Even that will be covered under the ACL, and amazon is required by law to facilitate any valid ACL claim: https://www.accc.gov.au/business/treating-customers-fairly/s…

What is important is if you purchased it through amazon.com.au or amazon.com because the .com.au one is going to governed by Australian laws, but the US website isn't.

      • yes! They are officially EXEMPT now.

        Complete nonsense and totally untrue.

        • -2

Go ahead, follow ACCC advice and sue Jeff. A new fool is born!

          • @payless69: If you have the ability to read and comprehend, you should be able to read a few lines and understand that amazon actively facilitates ACL claims. A fool will be someone who can't read a few lines of text and comprehend.

    • What does exemption here mean?

Just talked to the man "upstairs" and he is so happy to have found a new believer that he promised me a 21FE onder the xmas tree!

How is it compare with A73 for around $600

    • S21 FE has a superior processor. A73 has a better battery. I assume that A73 might not be the best for gaming. I'd assume you'll get more use out of the 21 FE. You'd notice the A73 slowing sooner with Android updates. https://nanoreview.net/en/phone-compare/samsung-galaxy-s21-f…

      • microSD storage on A73.

    • This is my exact question as well, although I just bought the A73 from Amazon yesterday so probably too late.

Just got the green screen of death on my Note 10+, reset didn't work so a hardware issue. $550 to replace screen and back glass.
Can't justify going to the equivalent new phone (S22 Ultra), don't use the pen anyway. Don't game on the phone. So guessed the A73 will do for me.

      • same i bought my A73 5G earlier in the week. from digidirect on ebay

    128gb has 6gb ram, 256gb has 8gb ram

I bought a Galaxy S21 FE for someone and he commented that the plastic back didn't feel cheap. It had a case anyway so it didn't really matter if the back was glass, ceramic, or plastic. The cameras are from the S21 line of phones which are still very good.

Price is good but it’s exynos :(

    • Would be a steal if it was the Snapdragon version

    • The Exynos 2100 isn't that bad

  • How does this compare to the original S21 ?

    I got the S21 for $624 + $100 HN giftcard a couple weeks back

    • +1

      S21 has:
      + Adaptive display refresh rate
+ 8gb ram in all editions
      - slightly smaller battery
      - slightly smaller screen

    • +1

Does it matter? You just bought it lol
They might actually be quite similar. I didn't realise this FE has the same exynos processor. The FE with the SD888 is definitely superior. Battery is more than 10% larger on the FE so I'd expect better battery life. Screen is slightly bigger on the FE (6.2 vs 6.4 inches) if that appeals to you.

      • No it doesn't matter I just wanted to know what the differences are

      • +2

Yeh the HN deal was a good deal. I wouldnt be regretting it lol.

  • Just bought it 2 days ago, and paid $888 for the 256GB version. Tried to talk to amazon support and they can only do the return and new purchase way. Anyone knows if i need to talk to another csr to discuss about the price drop gap return? It was only 2 days ago….

    • +1

returning it is the best way

      • +1

the gap is $69, and a return label costs $7, so only $62 difference.
also, i configured the phone yesterday which cost me 4 hours…
        sigh

  • Any better than. A pixel 6 128?

    • Avoid both. This has exynos and pixel 6 tensor, so same issues on both.

      • Cheers much appreciated for heads up,what issues for the Google one?

        • I think they might be referring to overheating? I didn't realise that was an issue with the Galaxy.

  • So how do you know which S21 FE model has the Exynos processor or the SD processor?

    • +1

Looks like all of the Australian stock has the Exynos processor unfortunately. For some reason we're the only country that receives the Exynos processor. I would assume that Amazon AU would only sell Australian stock as only that would be covered under warranty? I'm not really sure though.

  • Thanks! The typical AU get screwed over good tech strikes again!

  • No eSIM support on S21fe as opposed to a normal S21.
