    Their shipping kills any deal.

$15 for fastest courier option seems pretty standard.

Was checking out used 6600xt prices on eBay. One guy was trying to sell his used GPU (this model) for $429. The poor soul. Few others still think they can get close to $400 for their used 6600xt. Who's gonna tell them.

    • +7

Tell them what? Look at the completed items and you will get shocked how stupid some people are and what prices they are prepared to pay

      • +1

Those "sold" or completed items are most likely not sold. They're relisted, or just sold off the platform for less. I've personally bought something from someone for much less (made a deal off eBay), but somehow their ad on eBay says sold for their original price. If you notice, one seller has had the same ad 3 times now, but all his previous ones says sold, even when it's not. Cant really trust eBay's "sold" history.

      • +2

I have tried and offered $250 for a Rx 6609. That seller insist his/her Rx 6600 is fetching for $400+ else where, and this is a "dip".

So I offered him/her a few links for rx6600xt for cir $400 and suggested s/he should stock up whilst it lasts.

        All good. Thanks.

In case you need to stock up, anything over 400$ is too much, let alone 500.

        AAAA:

The mech 2x variants are well above the $500 mark. Atm EOFY sale can get other variants / brands for around the $400 mark they will bump up again after EOFY. I am not in a rush to sell. $250 is to low. Buy it brand new then

insert skull emoji, the guy's loaded to the brim with copium. he's screwed and he doesn't know it. unless of course there are idiots willing to pay that much for used card lmao

          • -1

@theadeptus: @theadeptus: "A quick Google search tells people how cheap they are" chuckled the veteran ozbargainer to their wife's boyfriend. The ozbargainer stroked his sparse facial stubble that resembled a goatee in satisfaction.

    • That's not that bad. This deal is really $415 with shipping and only recent. People like buying on Feebay because of the security and ease of raising disputes. A lot of consumers will never enforce their legal warranties with retailers, so they see buying stuff on Ebay as more secure. The second hand tech market in Australia is always pretty bad value for some reason.

Also, these Powercolor cards are really solidly built with dual ball bearing fans. I'd much rather PowerColor, XFX or Sapphire than ASUS/Asrock/MSI/Gigabyte, even for ~20% more.

  • +7

They wont even let you pick up the damn thing even if you're down the road.

    • +2

Of course they won't. Shipping would cost them $5 - $7 for such an item I assume. That's a profit of $8 to - $10 per item. Now calculate that on let's say 100.000 sold a year.

      • +3

What a waste of resources when I could just walk and pick it up. Sure the environment will just take it for the team again right?

        • Buy more to average out cost.

        • Mwave do click and collect. ive used it

  • @Jimmy77 are u going to hodl this deal?

    • +1

Of course they only have 128 bit memory interface. Also PCIE 3.0 8x. Very bad cards for 1440p.

Not really a great deal either when you add shipping costs.

      • +3

I play all my games at 1440p with a RX6600.. runs them all over 60FPS max settings at 1440p.. the RX6600 is as fast as a 2070 Super and that plays games at 1440p just fine..

        • +1

2070 super is 256 bit memory. Provided you aren't filling your bandwidth you won't notice a difference. 1440p carries 70% more information than 1080p. That coupled with lots of texture packs will indeed choke on 128 bit bus. That's why AMD marketed as 1080pcard. 5700xt is also similar speed but has 256 bit memory. Hence why marketed for 1440p

          • +1

@Jimmy77: How many times are you going to have to explain this lol?

      • -1

It says "Bus Standard PCIE 4.0".

        • +1

It's 8x regardless. You need a pcie 4.0 motherboard otherwise it will run at pcie 3

          • @Jimmy77: So it's fine if you put it in a PCIE 4.0 motherboard?

            • @KLF23: Jimmy77 has no idea what he is talking about… the new nvidia 4060 and AMD 7600xt coming out in a few months both have 128bit memory bus and are supposed to be as fast as a 3080/rx6800xt ..Memory bus has nothing to do with overall performance of a GPU.. otherwise a 6600xt with a 128bit bus wouldnt be crushing a 1080ti with a 352 bit memory bus..
              https://youtu.be/LZF2PANyCTA

the onboard cache on the amd 6000 series and new upcoming 4000 series nvidia cards is providing extra bandwidth.. also pci 3.0 and pci4.0 are not effecting performance on the 6600 cards. Just check out hardware unboxed review. or any review online or on youtube.. they will all confirm everything ive stated and show you how utterly wrong Jimmy is.. also DDR sleeds are faster on newer cards that make up somewhat for smaller memory bus's

              • +1

                @vid_ghost: AFAIK the AD104 (RTX 4060) is 192 bit, the AD106 (RTX 4050 Ti) is 128.

The AD104 is also rumoured to have 12GB of GDDR6X, so bandwidth won't be a problem. It'll also be more like 3080 Ti/3090 performance.

Memory bus has nothing to do with overall performance of a GPU

This isn't really true, memory doesn't matter much, until you run out of it, then it absolutely tanks performance.

the new nvidia 4060 and AMD 7600xt coming out in a few months

4060 will probably be next year, 7600 XT definitely will be.

Nvidia will launch with the 4090, 4080 and 4070 in a few months. No dates have been set for the 4060. AMD will at best have their first cards ready by the end of 2022, which I think will be the 7700XT because it's using a a mono die, and the flagship will be later.

            • +1

@KLF23: It's definitely a lot better. It's effectively double bandwidth. Running in pci 3.0 has shown as much as 20% performance hits in some games. But 4.0 won't solve an extra 70% load transfer compared to 1080p due to the memory interface. You'll need to turn settings down if this becomes a problem.

The 6500xt is 4x and chokes at 1080p. That's what happens when you're trying to move more data than the bandwidth can handle.

The memory interface is the fsb between the core/vram. If you fill your vram the pci 3.0 8x will become a major factor

        Its disgraceful.

MAN! I bought this from PCCaseGear last night at $30 more. CRAAAAAAAP! It has not even shipped yet. Anyone know if they are nice folks there? It's for my 14 year old son who saved his busking money for a new card. 10% drop before it even ships sucks.

    • +1

Just ignore future posts then…lol I think it'll drop a bit further still…

      • Hey come on, I did not mention the video card I bought last month that's dropped a $100 already. I know tech drops, just did not expect 10% before it even shipped!

        • +1

Hehe I'm one of the people who bought a 3060 mini for $700.. I wish it was a $100 more lol… Only saving grace is I sold 5600xt for $500 sooo tiny bit less painful… I'd just give my son $30 and say they adjusted for the price drop so he didn't fee bad for the hard work he put in… Aside from that as long as you enjoy using the card the rest doesn't matter…

    • Why cant you cancel and order again?

      • Once they start to process, you can't cancel - even if they have taken a full day and still "processing".

    • You can log into your account and request to cancel order.. they will refund the amount

    • +2

I contacted them straight away, and they refunded me the $30. My son was so happy. I've built 2.5 PCs through them over the years, they just made me a super-fan of their customer service.

Nice, buying more of these so I cannot afford to bring in-laws in future (unless BTC reaches 50k again).

    • +3

      Your meds, sir

The Red Devil 6600 XT is also $449 from PCCG, doubt it's really worth the extra $50 but it's considered one of the better 6600 XT models available. Does use 6+8 power though for some reason.

First XFX, now Powercolor, I guess we'll be seeing Sapphire cards for $399 tomorrow :)

  • -5

Hmmm pretty tempted to neg this deal.

    The RX 6600 was $399 when the 3070 was $850. The 6700xt was $800 (now $670). A 6600xt mech was $499

Shouldn't this be a lot lower than $359?

    • -6

Sorry I will have to neg the deal now, because a member negged the above post. I don't want members here hiding the fact this should be cheaper than $359 given how much the other models have dropped in price. A $40 drop is pretty stingy in comparison.

You can get a good 6600xt for $399. This needs to come down more. Mid tier 6600xt models were $499 when this was $399. The RX6600 was 20% cheaper than 6600XT then. It is only like 5% cheaper now. Seriously get real why would anyone buy this over 6600xt?

  • +1

Why are there always some 🧂 🎓 with lame 🦆 excuses about the price and then go on to neg the deal?

All it takes is -7 neg to remove the neg and restore OP 👍 work.

    • Why don't you agree the RX6600 is poorly priced? The 6600XT is only $40 more.

Seems you are merely against price drops. It's clear current pricings are bad. They're all over the place and make no sense

Anyway I just reported their invalid negative votes. Goodluck advising people into buying the $359 non xt to protect your current gpu's value like you did with the asrocks.

      • +3

Just to give my thoughts on why people don't like your neg.

While you are correct that the XT offers about 20% more performance for only 10% more cost, and that's good to point out, if someone (for whatever reason) wants the 6600, and this is the lowest price, then that's the deal.

There is always different $/perf to be had across the market. Both the top and bottom end of the market typically ends up offering higher $/perf. Where exactly this drop off happens does fluctuate a bit depending on the market, especially now! Eg the 6600xt is being replaced by the 6650xt I believe, so likely has extra downward pressure.

        • I hear the only difference between the 6600xt and the 6650xt is the 6650xt has a higher clock speed of 2.63 GHz instead of 2.58GHz. Is it really worth buying 6650xt over the 6600xt though?

          • @cakeking98: I think that's why amd are phasing out the 660xt. They're so close in performance.

  • still wait for including delivery , or 350.00 for 6600xt
