I’ve got one of these - nice and solid, no heat I’ve noticed.

  • Thanks! Just started looking as the apple watch (series 7) that I just bought doesn't seem to like some of my chargers that have PD on the USB C port

  • Does it come with the USB-C cable or just the wall plug?

    • +3

      Just the wall plug

As per below but no, u can buy cables from AliExpress

  • +13

Charger is $30(rrp), usb-c to lightning cable is $45 lol they know how to get you. Damn Apple.

Buy from AliExpress, Baseus brand goes on sale all the time

      • Wouldn't you just buy a Baseus charger instead then.

        • +3

It really depends on what you're after. Typically a first-party charger will be higher quality than a third-party charger.

        • +3

Mains voltage and Aliexpress worries me.

        • +2

Apple chargers are very well engineered, but some third party cables are better than Apple ones.

          • @bio: Which third party cables are you saying better than Apple's and can recommend?

            • +2

@edfoo: Anker cables are quite good. I haven't had any issues with the Amazon Basics branded ones either. Blitzwolf etc are hit-and-miss, depending on the batch. Genuine Apple cables (the ones that come with the device) are ok but they seem to break after a year or so (in a house with multiple children, so YMMV).

As someone who hates high pitch noises, I can confirm there is zero coil whine in the 20w apple chargers.

That to me is worth heaps. I can sleep next to it.

        • This is the most compact quality charger I'm aware of.

    • +1

The charger isn't included with phone but the cable is.

    • I bought apple c to lightning last month on catch. It only costs me $14. But it is oos at the moment. U can monitor it.

    • Thats the price for the 2m cable. The 1m cable is $29 https://www.apple.com/au/shop/product/MM0A3FE/A/usb-c-to-lig….

  • OOS

  • and all gone…

  • Damn… was going to buy one today (irrespective of this deal), and the deal has killed the stock.

      It’s back in stock

      • thanks very much for the heads up :)

  • Will this work on Samsung phones? Its universal right?

    • +1

Yes. I have this charger and have used it with many USB-C devices without issue.

One thing to keep in mind is that this does not support PPS if "Super Fast Charging" is important to you.

      • PPS is near and dear to my heart. Super important

        • I heard it makes little difference since it only charges at the high wattage for very short period of time

    • +1

yes. source i used it for my ipad pro and 2 android work phones.

  • Thanks! Worked out to $7.40 with my Mastercard $15 voucher.

  • These are good, it just sucks how hard it is to go anything other than Apple OEM. They’ve really worked out the system.

    • What do you mean? It's just 20W USB-PD, any USB-PD USB-C charger can do it. Apple made it standards compliant.

For $10 more you can get a dual port Belkin

If you want to step it up you can fast charge your iPhone and charge your MacBook off this one at the same time.

      • Look at tear downs and reviews measurments. Apple chargers consistently have higher quality components. If you want a charger to last, an apple charger is a good option.

      • @Agret
If only that was true, I’ve tried all the options over the years but it’s just easier to stick with Apple OEM

I recently got a second one of these from Telstra Plus for 10,000 points plus 2,500 points delivery. Worth checking your Telstra Plus points before you buy from Jeff.

  • i recently switched from samsung to apple around 6 months ago and i still use the samsung usb c charger with iphone cable and it works for me lol

  • Anyone have received theirs and used them yet? Do they support fast charging to iPhone 12 and 13?
I only used it first time last night, the battery in my iPhone 12 still have about 78% battery but it was only charging at 5.2W. I will test it again when the battery goes down to 40%.
