Cards are heavy and might rot.

Perforated paper tape or nothing. Light and rolly …

@jv: You get used to it, though. Your brain does the translating. I don't even see the punch cards. All I see is blonde, brunette, redhead….

I would have thought that there would be a later freebie version by now.
Looks the same as 2020 Promo

    • +2

Hmm, interesting… So when exactly was their 25th anniversary then?

      Edit: 2019.

    • Yeah, it's definitely been a few years since I got their 25th Anniversary edition.

It was mainly out of curiosity as I already had the boot disc of it.

    • +5

Oh ffs. This is a freebie windows utility.

Please keep the politics and conspiracy theories where they belong, which is not here.

      • +1

While the actors mentioned may not have anything to do with the software, it's a very healthy question to ask about "freebie" software.
What do they get out of giving it away (in what other ways besides money does the user end up paying)?

"free" software often being leveraged for add revenue, data gathering, malware, etc is not a conspiracy theory.

  • Thankyou OP, Great find! Handy bit of software kit to store away :-)

  • Thanks. Isn’t this the tool to use for migrating from HDD to SSD? So it generates partition images then duplicates them into your new SSD? I need to upsize my SSD (and go M2) without reinstalling windows and software b

To do that I recommend either Macrium Reflect Free or Clonezilla. Macrium Reflect is easier to use with a simple GUI, while Clonezilla is more complicated but very powerful.

      • I use Macrium and Clonezilla. Is this Paragon worth trying? I known it ages ago.

  • Cheers, i literally just downloaded the free version last week so this is perfect timing.

    • I literally downloaded the community edition last night to format a USB drive, when windows disk management kept crashing haha!

  • easeus better?

    • this is free tho.

  • I get a registration failed message when I tried to get a key. Any ideas why that might be?

edit: turns out its web-browser issues. Got it. Thanks OP!

  • +1

Is this good for recovering a corrupted HDD?

    • I'd like to know this too

    • No.

  • done! Thanks OP

  • +2

I don't even use Windows but whatever, price is right. Thanks OzBargain.

  • +2

Unfortunately the free version does not include the cloning option

  • Excellent find! Something I genuinely needed!

  • Thanks OP

  • how strange. when i try to install it comes up with an error and wont install.
Goes up to 100% and rolls back and says FATAL ERROR!

  • Limited Edition! Thanks OP

  • +2

Fyi.. " HDM25 is based on older version of HDM17 Advanced. It lacks "Copy & Migration" features and wasn't updated with latest Win10/Win11 OS support.
Backup & Recovery should work, but in case there are any issues, using latest HDM17 Advanced) is recommended, since it features bug fixes and performance improvements in Backup & Recovery-related components as well. "

  • Is this a bootable version ?

  • +2

i have clicked claim about 10 times now and nothing

    • Same. Guess I'll try again in the morning

  • I cannot format the usb when I try to create recovery media. Could anyone help me?
The error is 'cannot change the format".
However I can use explorer to format and edit the USB.
    Thank you

  • Is it relevant for SSD as well ?

  • +1

is it still free? Look like $130 now
