      • May I know which woollies prepaid did you choose? Might want to do the same. Cheers

        • +1

$35 plan, currently $10 off so 42gb data, and the usual unlimited text/calls for $25 a month.
Not prepaid, is postoaid but no lock-in term and was able to Port in to an esim overnight.

  • I'm waiting for the $500 GC.

    • +1

I’ve been waiting for a while too, though starting to believe it won’t ever come back :(

Best deal atm was when JB offered $1000 gift card for the $79 plan (discounted from $99) over 24 months

      • That was the bomb. i never came across the promo.

      • +1

This deal still works out to be better though.

      • This deal still works out better though as the difference in monthly $ is more than the difference in giftcards

        • Depends on what you need tbh, that deal was good for many as you can use it to substitute your home wifi as 300GB is plenty

          • @BargainsGrabber: For quite a few that makes sense actually! I found 5G ping terrible for WFH or doing much at around 50+ ms when testing from a few different areas… I use 30gb upwards a day as I do alot of video calls and I stream all my content so unfortunately a no go for me

  • I am going to try an get this 10pm treasure chest.

    • Good luck mate, I’ve given up since 4pm lol

  • Was only able to get $10port in discount for 12mths. Couldn't get $20. I just said on the chat that I confirm with telstra sales team before I went into store and purchase the plan. $59 is better than $69

    • Can you still chat with them? In my Telstra app, they ask me to call them, can’t chat with them.

  • Telstra is updating its plans on 1 July - looks like you could get 180gb data for $68pm (https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/plan-price-updates). Obviously no gift cards to come with the plan, but may be worth also waiting for JB to update its prices/deals after 1 July.

  • How long do you need to be out of Telstra to benefit from port in bonus? 1 month?

  • Can I move out of Telstra without loosing my Telstra points?

    • +1

      Yes

      • interested to know how considering you will be closing your telstra account

  • +2

$20 p/m credit lock and loaded.

it is possible to get this but I went through the hoops of speaking to five different telstra CS people.
To make it more efficient, I had help chats open on my phone, mac and iPad. So that if one CS robot said no, there was another in the wings also checking for me. Do likewise.

Overall, not bad. $69 plan for $49 plan + $400 GC. Solid.

Did you port in number? Or do the loophole?

      • +1

        Port in from Optus, brotha.

    • What did you say exactly? That JB told you Telstra would apply the credit?

      • I mentioned that I went to my local T-store and showed them the JB hi-fi deal and said no, the sales people said they couldn't match that but could offer me a port-in credit if I switch over from Optus. I defs recommend opening a few chat windows and testing your luck.

        • Did you sign up first in jb and then asked for port in credit in telstra chat? Thanks

  • I wanted the Pixel 6 Pro and was expected to try my luck to do the port deal since it only mentioned the standard Pixel 6. The guy I dealt with straight out gave me $650 off Pixel 6 Pro. Paid with Zip Pay to get the $50 (note can only redeem in lots of $20) credit too.

Next is to haggle down the $69 per month plan

  • Erm anyone else go into the deal and its $300 JB GC for a 12 month sim only or $400 for 24 months?

I read the title as 12 month sim contract for $69 p/m for $400 JB GC? haha

    • I signed up today and it’s definitely $400 for 12 months. Stickers in store and on catalogue

  • +2

I got this deal yesterday and contacted Telstra chat and got 20$ per month port in credit for 12 months.

    • how’d you manage to get port in credit?

      • +2

I just contacted Telstra chat in the app and said a friend got a 20$/month credit and they did it

        • So telstra chat can give credit to jb port in customer? Thanks

  • Is there a quick and easy way to sign up for a new number elsewhere and port that in to Telstra? How long before you could port in?

    • As long as the service isn't with Telstra, Belong or Boost, you can transfer in within minutes of activating a service. I've done this with Vodafone ($0 Coles deal) and Optus (new esim)

      • Sounds good. My current phone doesn't have an esim so might go into an Optus store and pick one up.

  • For the port-in credit in chat, are you guys clicking on "accounts and billing" or "orders" when the bot responds?

    • nvm got the $20/month :)

      • What exactly did the rep say?

        • no problems m8, I'll apply it for you now. And surely within a couple seconds I got the revised order details via email.

          • @blazer78: hm, seems I may have been scammed (tm)

            • @forged: unlikely if you went through telstra chat via app or their website.

              • @blazer78: Nah, I was told "Your credit will get applied within 15-20 days once it is updated you will receive email notification."
If yours was put through straight away, seems like they've just said this to keep me happy for 2-3 weeks until I realise no credit has actually been applied.

    • Im trying to do it now - do you mind sharing what you said to get to the port in credit people?

  • Just messaged chat and was told the $20 port-in credit would be applied within 15-20 days. Can anyone confirm this is how it actually works?

I’m traumatised from previous experience trying to get a phone number reassigned, where I was stuck in an endless loop of a rep saying it’d be “processed in the next 24-48 hours” while not actually doing anything.

    • Just got the first bill, $69 and with no credit applied. Nice

      • That's annoying. Do you have the chat logs to verify the conversation?

  • +1

Done today. Received $400 gift card + $20 port in credit via telstra mobile chat. This value is better than my last plan $59 + $500 gift card.

  • Is this likely to be the best deal for the next while? or should I wait for post-EOFY?.

Also, what determines whether the credit is $10 / 20?

    • I think you just have to mention 20 instead of 10.

  • +1

Thanks got it, and also $10/m discount via chat. Chat person tried $20 but it was not working.

    • They said that because of the 40Gb data, only $10 port in credit

  • I got $20 port in credit on the second attempt. The 1st attempt did not give me anything. Tried after 30min

  • got a $10 credit after the fourth chat, better than nothing

  • Asked again for the $20/month credit but only got one on the first bill.
    ???

  • They will only offer me the $20 off the first month. To get the on going credit they have asked me on 3 seperate tries to get the telstra store to open a case on my account (i said I was told about the credit in store) or for JB to open a ticket (when i said my friends got a credit).

My question to everyone that got the ongoing credit is what exactly did you say? Thanks!
