  • SuperCharge 75D23L GOLD PLUS is $164 @ Autobarn. Which one is better?

The one posted originally - it has a significantly higher AH rating. CCA is only part of the consideration when buying a car battery but sadly it's the number that most focus on…

    • Century is Australian made for what ever you find that worth.

I bought one of these in a different size but they are crap.

In the previous version of this you could add water through a concealed flap, these are fully sealed. So instead of getting 9 years like my previous battery by maintaining it will probably dry out in 3 or 4.

    Planned obsolescence.

Use a small flat head screwdriver with a very small tip to yank out the battery indicator thingie. Access to add water sorted. Whether you should add water to a maintenance free battery that a different discussion

      • Did you make that up right now or is it a known hack?

        If so, link?

In the old version you raised a flap and each cell had a tap.

      • Plus one on this comment u can flip the flap thing use a screwdriver and undo the caps to add water they just make it inconvient as you have to undo the battery mount to access it

      • The flaw to this hack - is that it only allows you to add water to a SINGLE cell out of six. Each cell is physically separate and needs to be 'topped up' individually.

Sucks as battery makers have gone down this 'Maintenance free' route making out its for the consumers benefit, when really it's largely in theres as well as they know it means cells dry out and the battery needs to be replaced.

    • Agree, the quality has dropped since it became fully sealed.

      • these have always been avg. at best

if you get 3-4 yrs out of it youre doing well

  • My current Century 55D23L lasted 10 years .
I've just replaced it with a Century 75D23L from SCA, priced matched with this AutoBarn offer, purchased with 10% discounted gift cards.

  • Thanks OP. Price-matched from super cheap auto. Needed to change my car's battery.

  • Thanks, got one

      Battery Discounters ยท July 2018

      Are these prices still current?

I need a NS60 for my MX-5 and i'm only 10 mins from them. Was going to get an Exide from Costco but if they're $130, i'd rather go to them

      • Can't say but I bought a battery around 4 months ago from them and the price was as listed then.

      • Following this up - They're $145 for the NS60LS MF now - still the cheapest price i can find

  • Got this battery for free a few weeks ago since my Century 75D23L died after only 30 months but was still within warranty so Autobarn replaced it on the spot.
