ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3080 Ti OC Graphics Card $1899 + Delivery ($0 to VIC/NSW/QLD) @ Scorptec

812

Edit: Apparently this is not a good deal and I'm sorry for having upset anyone.

First time I've seen a 3080 Ti this cheap, so I jumped on the deal and am now finally upgrading my 1070. Felt this was a better buy than a 3090 with minimal difference in performance.

I decided to just go pick this one up but delivery is free for standard, $13 for express and $19 for Courier Express. Parcel Protection was $38.

This is part of Scorptec's EOFY deals and it's while stocks last. Unsure about the end date of the actual sale.

Part code: TUF-RTX3080TI-O12G-GAMING
Boost clock 1785MHz, 12GB VRAM, 3 x DisplayPort and 2 x HDMI ports.

Wait you can get normal 3080s around $1098 and you think the TI is better value ? Crazy..

    • +7

Umm… I never said the Ti was better than the 3080, you are more than welcome to think that but don't make up something and put words in my mouth then call me crazy. That is crazy. I'm just here to share with the community a discount I spotted on a 3080 Ti (:

      • +1

        You didn't spot a discount.

        • +7

Man this is wild, you are straight up attacking me for.. like.. sharing a link to a sale? I'm happy to delete this and never share stuff if that's what the you want for the ozbargain community lol. I'm not sure why you're getting so offended because you don't agree with something not being a deal. Just don't vote it or downvote it and move on?

          • -6

@blueskittles: I'm not offended lol. You're the one getting offended for being called out for sharing a bad deal. Then you're trying to justify yourself. Which is all I'm responding to.

          • +2

@blueskittles: GPU market be a bit crazy and very opinionated. They will compare to other cards, RRP, speculative RRP of next gen and many more oddities.

            • +1

@beeze: The hardest thing about finding good reviews to make a decision has been that everyone looks for and values different things in their graphics card purchase.

I don't want to buy the cheapest bang for buck graphics card, maybe that's why everyone's mad at me for posting this, I just want to spend around $2k and get a nice top end graphics card because I'd like to be able to not have to set my games to 'LOW QUALITY' preset for once in my life. But if they really believe this isn't good value I wish they wouldn't be so hostile about it and actually give me proper advice on why they think that :/

              • +1

@blueskittles: No one's mad except you seem to be taking the negs personally, they're warning other buyers there's way better cards out there for significant cheaper pricing as well it is called ozbargain for a reason..

Read the comments below they have told you..

  • +14

Mustn't have been looking very hard, they've been much cheaper than this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/703063

Also the 6900 XT absolutely spanks this for value.

    • +4

      $300 Tuf premium fees.

  • +8

    Horrible value

    • +1

it says save $500, must have been a good deal…

      • And compares it to 3090 value like that's a good benchmark

      • it says save $500, must have been a good deal…

HAHAHAHHA — How about inflating the price to $5,000 and let customer "save" $3,000?

        • well that's scorptec, not me

        • I'd say that represents half the listings you see for "discounted" GPU's across the Aus market.

  • +5

    Jesus, just horrible price.

  • +8

    Ti stand for Tiny Increase

  • +10

Bro you're crazy for buying this over a 3080 or 6900xt

  • +7

This is not a good deal at all, maybe if it was a 3090Ti, but definitely not for the 3080Ti. For an extra $99 you could buy 2 6900XT's!

  • +7

Jeez. Might as well burn your money mate

    • +7

With a price like this, it tells me how much they hate their customers.

  • +5

Not even a bargain, too expensive during Crypto crash and vs 6900 XT deal.

  • +3

pretty much every other comment here, not a good deal at all =/

    sorry for your loss

  • +2

3080ti has been under 1899 for at least 3 months. Did you lose internet in this 3 months?

    • They went back in time to 2021.

  • Also agree, atrocious value.
If you could cancel your order I would.
In the last few weeks there has been a few dropped at least $300 cheaper than this.

    • +1

I'm just scared of going for brands that I don't really know, I've been burned by faulty stuff and lack of warranty/support before. I wasn't able to find anything that's reputable that's below $2k, EVGA was what I was aiming for but settled for this as it's like $600 cheaper.

      • +2

Why not get 3080 or 6900xt then for almost half the money?

        • Haven't done much research into 6900xt but will do now. Main concern is whether it would be okay for VR and graphics/3D design.

As for why 3080ti over 3080, I guess I've always bought the xx70 series, and now that I finally have a good job and income I wanted to splurge a bit and get a top end card for once in my life.

          • +2

@blueskittles: Congrats on your good job and income, don't listen to others here, buy what you think you like and enjoy it.

          • @blueskittles: The main hate is coming from the lack of value. For gaming, its a ~10% improvement over 3080 for ~40% more money, and people are bitter / waiting.

I bought a 6900xt last week, but its purely for gaming. I expect for VR and 3d design Nvidea is preferable and a 3080 would be most of as good, but if the extra performance is worth the significant price increase, it is what it is.

            • @beeze: I asked my friend who's a VR dev and he said to go with Nvidia because it just has a larger market share = less driver issues. I've heard good things about AMD cards but I've never had one so it's spooky to venture into the unknown.

I just wanted a top end card, and that's supposed to be 3090/3090ti, and reviews say that 3080ti is much cheaper than the 3090 and about the same performance, so I've been looking at the 3080ti prices the last 6 months (ignoring the brands I don't know) and this seems to be right on the RRP (Kotaku said $1920), which is about as low as I've seen it. I think I might take in some of the suggestions here and cancel my order and either get a 3080 or wait for a better price. The last time I bought a card was an EVGA GTX1070 and it was like < $700 so the whole price hike is pretty wild to me.

          • +1

@blueskittles: Get a 3080 if it's for 3d design. For gaming including VR 6800xt or 6900xt are fine.

3080 ti is marginally better for a lot more money.I have a good job and income as well but still don't like to waste $800+. I would regret that purchase as next gen cards are out in October.

      • +1

I completely understand. If you are comfortable with spending that much. By all means. I spend money which people also don't see the worth for it to them.
I just feel bad for you as this is probably the time to hold your coin and buy a great deal. And suspect it will drop sooner rather than later. You can even get a 3090 for only $100 more right now. Which to me is a sign that the nvidia inflation is settling

        • +1

Yeah I agree, but there's no confirmed dates on the 40xx series and I've been looking at these damn graphic cards every month hoping there's gonna be a change in price so I can upgrade my ageing 1070 and nothing ever changes. Maybe I just need to be more patient..

          • +1

@blueskittles: It's nvidia being a pain . They are a greedy Corp. If they reveal when they release the 40 series no one will buy

            • @maverickjohn: I am not their biggest fan! Heard they do under the table deals to make sure software use their CUDA core tech and that games work better for them. I haven't looked much into AMD cards. Do you think the 6900 XT is better than a 3080ti in terms of performance? I used the gpu benchmark comparisons page to check the specs, it's really hard to get an objective view because people seem to value different things.

      • if you can afford it, then buy it, why bother on others opinion? its your money not theirs.

many people overpaid on their houses too coz they got unlimited money.

  • +3

Op, this is the current standard price in many online shops rather than a "new low" bargain price. People are after posts that list bargains they can't find better anywhere else, hence the flood of negative comments. But good for you for purchasing when it was right for you at a price you were happy with. While the 6900XT is at an excellent price point at the moment, nVidia cards are preferred by some due to its extra bells and whistles in the form of RTX ray tracing support as well as nVidia/CUDA accelerated apps. Enjoy your card.

    • Thanks for your nice comment :) I've been keeping an eye on 3080 Ti prices for aaaaages and it's the first time I've seen it as low as this, I am aware that other brands have it at around this price normally, but I'm not familiar with their build quality. The comments did get me thinking about getting a 6900XT or a 3080 instead, as I think maybe the Ti is indeed overkill.

  • +1

    Definitely not a bargin

  • If they go OOS, plenty of other places matching this price: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/7CrRsY/asus-geforce-rtx-…

First time I've seen a 3080 Ti this cheap, so I jumped on the deal and am now finally upgrading my 1070

There's at least a dozen 3080 Tis cheaper than this out there without even looking hard. Here are two that are better models than this for less:

    https://evatech.com.au/product/6826/colorful-igame-rtx-3080-…
    https://evatech.com.au/product/6827/colorful-igame-rtx-3080-…

On the ASUS 3070 Ti TUF cards, they didn't ever both to have the heatsink cover the VRAM. Not sure what the situation is like on the 3080 Ti, but I'd be avoiding it.

Felt this was a better buy than a 3090 with minimal difference in performance.

There's also a minimal difference in performance between this and the $1100-$1200 3080s. The $999 6900 XT is a faster card than this is. This one is still in stock for $1100.

Cancel your order or return it OP, you've been taken for a ride lol.
