    damn, stupid MAC keyboard layout.
i have been waiting for the WIN version to drop in price

    • +5

I hate that Windows users have to put up with the ugly "opt | start" and "cmd | alt" keys (which I cannot stand) but Mac users get a separate version.

    • +4

Isn’t it like 3 keys that have different graphics, not even functionally different? If so, I’d still go for it tbh. Love my mx keys

    • +4

This is UK layout, not MAC layout.

      • Good pickup. £

  • +5

Waiting for the mechanical 60% to drop now.

  • +3

    Mac version, not windows.

  • +4

I have a Mac and I don't understand why you'd buy this version. The standard layout has both Mac and windows keys printed which is beneficial if you ever switch between computers.

    • +4

It's probably because Mac users aren't floating between two ecosystems.

      • Yeah, that mostly windows users do that

      • I must be an exception.

      • +2

That’s because Mac users switch from Windows and “never look back”. How do you know? Because they tell you.

        • Thanks for telling us you use Windows

    • Function key minor differences (including location of fn key) and other differences… Trying to find insert key (for Windows) on this keyboard. Looks like this keyboard is better suited for a Mac.

  • Op, what is CCC ?

Gatekeeping acronym that lazy people use instead of typing out the whole word.

  • Prefer ten key less

The multi-device available at same price
    MX Keys Multi-Device

    • Sorry, that is the minimalist version …. D'OH

    • Pink one is $95 - wow!

    • +2

Windows version but essentially the same keyboard

      • +1

        Kool.. Just got one :-)

    • Damn this jumped back to $168 :(

  • +1

For anyone that's interested, the mini is also on sale: https://www.amazon.com.au/Logitech-Minimalist-Wireless-Illum…
($139 in black, $129 in white and $95 in pink)

    • Pink it is then!

    • +1

The black one has been cheaper

      • -2

        Different model.

        • +1

What are you on about? They're both MX Keys Mini (unless you think I was responding to the OP, which I was not; I was responding to Erwark's comment).

  • +3

I have one of these and is fantastic.
Leaves the Magic Keyboard for dead. I switch between my Macbook Pro, Ryzentosh (Windows/Mac Dual Boot Build) and MS surface. Also works well with the MX Anywhere using Logitech Flow.
Other benefit is that it uses USBC (unfortunately the Mouse is Micro USB)

    • Well I prefer the magic keyboard with fingerprint reader.

      • It does make it easier for installing new Apps etc, but the keyboard sits beside my Macbook Pro anyway.

    • Time to upgrade the mouse to Anywhere 3 where it's USB-C ;)

      • Maybe, but I don't $100 at the moment. Massive Solicitor bills due to property settlement.

        • Buy one for next FY once you're more financially stable; there might be an Anywhere 3S as well since the Master 3S is now out with quieter clicks

    • +1

Still on wired Apple keyboard, low on cash. Is this one or the Apple magic keyboard really worth it?

Logitech flow doesn't work well for the mouse I am using (it works one way, but not the other way).

      • Maybe it's not fully supported? I know the original MX Mouse I bought off Amazon was compatible, but the one my girlfriend purchased off HN was. (2 vs 2s?).

        • One of them in Intel MBP, the other one is M1 MBP. Moving the mouse from the Intel one to M1 works (and copy and paste works). But, moving back doesn't work. Not sure why….

  • I own the mx keys mini and I find the size and layout a bit off. And I really like their K580s.

Will this be more suited for me?

  • +1

Being as patient as possible for the mechanical version of this.

    • Which are you eyeing?

    • +1

I'm keen for the mechanical version as well. Wish they had more info on release dates. Still listed as "Coming Soon" on their site.

      • +1

Have messaged their sales team RE release date… They're none the wiser.

  • Does this have issues with the M1 macs that some people report with the MX mouse?

    • +1

What issue is that? Mine works fine via Bluetooth with the MX Anywhere 2? mouse

      • Some of the reviews are mixed. Some state the Mac MX Master mouse has jittering issues when used with an M1. Maybe I'll go for an MX Anywhere 2. Thanks! 😊

        • +1

I use mx master 2s with my m1 and no issues.

    • i use both mx master 2s and a m720 triathlon via bluetooth connected to my m1 macbook air, no issues here.

  • +2

I guess it's an issue of personal preference but these keyboards are so ugly. Doesn't match the Apple look at all.

    • I hold the same view. Also doesn't integrate well with a Magic Trackpad … wish Apple would do a backlit wireless keyboard.

  • +3

Fantastic price for this keyboard. Had a Craft before, MX Keys is much better.

Also, MX Mechanical is coming, if you prefer a clickery experience: https://www.logitech.com/en-au/products/keyboards/mx-mechani…

Just beware that MX Mechanical uses Bolt receivers, if you don't want to use Bluetooth, it is not compatible with other Unify devices. So, you will also need to get the MX 3S mouse if you want to use a single receiver.

  • +1

The MX Master 3 (graphite) mouse is also $126 at JB if anyone is interested https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/logitech-mx-master-3-adva…

    • +1

I would wait for the new one if you don't have one yet. It way quicker and quieter in terms of clicks.

  • Bought this on the weekend for $168 :(

  • +1

Price matched with JB Hifi for the standard version (windows).

They will also do the bundle for $265 if anyone is interested.

    • Did they price match in store or via phone?

      • following

      • Online

    • I did the same. You can use the online chat and ask for a match. They will give you a link to pay online.
I used my Amex offer to get $20 off.

      • I think I've gone mad but I can't find the chat function?

        • +1

Sign in to your account first and there's an option to contact

    • Lowest they could go in store was $288.

    • What did you ask to get the bundle for $265?

      • Yep, and he refused it.

        • Yeah, I was on chat now and they can’t offer it for $265 and said it’ll be $287.12

          • @peanut48: Ah that blows. Thanks for following them up.

  • I got this in a deal a few months ago - only negative is that if you don't use their USB adaptor then you can't use it until after you login.

    • +1

Unless you don't have any spare USB ports, always use the included receiver, so that you don't have to wait for Bluetooth drivers to load, and also not competing with other Bluetooth devices (if any).

If you find the signal strength weak because your PC is far away, you can get au USB extension cable and route it to behind the monitor.

  • price in link has bumped up to $145

  • How long does battery last with lights and proximity on?
Mixed reports - dont want frequent plug in to charge it.
Can any user comment on the lifetime life of the in built battery pls.

    • +1

3 weeks with lights off and not turning it off. 3-4 hour days.

    • +2

With the lights enabled about a week, with it off several weeks/months. Can still use while charging though if thats an option.

  • I’m getting 3-4 weeks 3-4 work days a week with the lights on. Great keyboard
