  • Oh bugger. Halti lead not available online :(

  • Feline Natural large tins not available either.

  • Can anyone recommend a wet food for cats? Especially ones with IBD? I am thinking a grain-free black hawk or ivory coat to try. I think my cat is getting allergic to raw kangaroo meat now.

    • +1

I've been feeding feline natural (chicken venison) or ziwi peak(chicken). Buy them only with cashback promo.

    • -1

You should not be feeding your cat raw kangaroo meat.
One of the worst unhygienic meats collected.
Your cat has ibd. The amount of bacteria in the raw meat to be broken down in the gut would put alot of strain on any cat.
Meat should be cooked for pets.
Trilogy is a very good brand that has fantastic ingredients.
      Very healthy for cats

      • +1

do you have a source? this has been advised by at least two vets that human grade kangaroo raw meat is suitable for cats with IBD - as a novel and lean protein.

I'll have a look into trilogy thanks

      • +2

Nonsense. Raw feeding is fantastic for dogs when balanced and otherwise dont have intolerances.

        • Tried this diet on our toy poodle. Diarrhoea and vomiting everywhere for 3 days. Sticky poo on bum for 2 weeks. Back to kibbles.

          • +1

@spasto: As with many changes in diet you need to transition carefully. What you describe is not uncommon if rushed, and it can be a bit trickier for a dog that's only had heavily processed foods.

If interested you can look at other higher quality foods from Prime, K9 Natural, Frontier Pets etc and supplement with a little raw beef/roo/quale/turkey. That has been easier for our super fussy oodle who craves variety.

            • @Xizor: It's so disappointing to see people turn away from raw feeding because the process has been rushed. There is a lot of patience and trial and error. There are so many factors that come into play - age, breed, medical conditions etc. The transition process can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 6+ months.

With our husky, we started with meatball size single protein (duck) along with his existing food. This went on for about 2 weeks and then we increased it to two meatballs etc. It has been 3 months and we're still at the 50/50 stage. Every time we introduce a new protein, the process starts again with the meatball.

We feed our dog Big Dog and it’s been great for him. Fresh frozen.
They make cat food too but can’t comment specifically

    • You can try Hills Z/D

A lot of cats have IBD due to protein intolerances, but its usually one or two particular types of protein (chicken or beef often). So you can go the hydrolysed protein route (eg Z/D) or the single type of protein route (eg kangaroo/raw meat), of course for the latter switching if it turns out that is the kind of protein there is an allergy to.

a lot of the cheaper foods are a mix of different proteins/meats and even some of the upper market brands (like Trilogy) are a mix. Hence if you are trying to find a type of protein without an intolerance, you need the single ingredient foods.

Of course IBD can be from many reasons, but protein intolerance is a common one

      • I've gone down the vet only diet before, and no luck with Hills z/d, Royal Canin hypoallergenic.

I believe the route is to get our cat on some medicine, but hoping to see if I can simply get him on non-allergic foods (novel proteins etc)….

        • yeah, its hard given that the cats cant tell us what the issue is. I had a garbage guts cat that ate anything, none of this 'introduce a new food slowly' stuff, he ate everything. Then suddenly developed IBD. Has steroids, probiotics, other vet stuff plus hypo allergenic food. It has worked but shoving a few pills a day into him doesnt seem like a great long term solution and what do I do with all the other bags of dry food I picked up on special…

          • @dtc: So how's it going now? Still on the pills or found a food that works?

  • +1

does autoship 10% (similar to subscribe and save on amazon) affect the cashback?

    • +1

No, I've successfully used both in the past.

  • With RRP for Science Diet hardly a deal

  • what a horrendous website to navigate, I just want to buy 20kg bags of food without clicking a thousand times to find the price

    • Website is AIDS - also prices seem higher on everything than other stores

    • Yeah website and prices suck. I don't know what they are thinking.

  • Pet circle or my pet wharehouse are the sites to compare especially when My pet wharehouse does the boosted cashbacks. Don't inflate their prices on the prescription foods as much as pet stock. Do the auto deliveries then cancel when recieve the order :)

  • +4

Ripoff store tbh (even after cashback)

    Check 99petshops.com.au for price comparisons

    • +2

Absolutely - checked the 20KG price of Black Hawk Working Dog - $178, other sties are selling it $118

    • +1

That's where you get them to pricematch other online prices. They seem to be pretty good at it.

  • +1

Sorry i have to neg this deal as the prices on their site even with the cashback rate is terrible - there are no savings that i can find

  • Thanks a lot, bought some dry food and litter for my cat.
Litter was 10% more expensive than my local Petbarn and PetO stores, food - way cheaper before the cashback, so the deal became even sweeter with it :-)

  • +2

I am negging this deal as pricing is jacked. Example: Cat food from Royal Canin is significantly more expensive than other online sellers. I would not recommend this deal

  • Thanks op.

Got 20kg of dry dog food. It was slightly more expensive than other retailers before cashback but it ended up way cheaper after cash back is applied.

  • Thanks OP.. good deal on wet food for my cat before it sold out.

  • Does it apply to autoship items that are added today?

  • Big dog frozen food is a good price here for Perth, when you include the 15% brand cashback which I hope is on top of the shopback cashback

    • I bought this but was careful not to apply the brand cashback to this order - not sure if it would kill the ShopBack cashback

      • Good point, I took a gamble, and just got a cashback confirmed email today!

  • Some of the Ziwipeak provenance dog items are on sale (25%) including the half-size (170g) wet food. You need to add the wet food (beef, lamb, lamb and tripe) to the cart first before you see the discount. First time trying the brand but it seems to get a lot of good feedback across various forums including Ozbargain.

  • Royal canin dachshund 7.5kg is $77 plus cashback. Amazing price!

    • +1

      They really are sausage dogs.

  • How quick are their tracking emails? Ordered just after 2 but haven't received anything.

    • Previous shopback + petstock orders I received the trackback email around 15mins after.
I also put in an order today shortly after 2pm, but no tracking email nor on shopback yet.

    • Same here, placed at order at 2:16 and still no confirmation.

  • Bought some Greenies for the dog, but had to create an account to get the Autoship price which is comparative to other stores otherwise price is jacked 20% more. Site is terrible and took a while for the account to register. Let’s hope the ShopBack comes through

  • I noticed that various things are 'unavailable online' when using the Shopback link, as opposed to looking in another browser not through shopback.
    eg Catmate 15kg litter
    shopback
    not

  • FWIW I'm having troubles claiming the previous promotion with cashrewards. Click didnt track and none of the invoices showed the requested information.

    • This is shopback. your luck might change

  • Bought a couple of hours ago and hasn't tracked yet, hopefully it comes good.

  • Has anyone received their Petstock Brand cash or Petstock Dollars in their Rewards yet as part of this Shopback purchase?

    • You get the credits after the order is fulfilled.

  • Anyone tracked yet?

    • Nope not yet

    • nope

    • Mine just tracked

    • just tracked :)

  • Getting close to cancelling the order

  • +1

Mine has just tracked. Bought about a dozen cans of food and it’s individual tracking with a notification for each one so that’s been interesting 😄

  • Still waiting for mine to track but I ordered late, around 7:20pm so that may be a factor. Will be a great deal if it tracks.

    • Never got tracked, have made a claim. Disappointing that this is necessary but will be worth it if successful.

      • you could always return the item if it doesn't track.

  • All items tracked individually in Shopback and I got 26 app alerts all at once!

    Autoship items also tracked
