Similar to the other deal which has sold out.
The real deal here is a targeted $250 cashback from amex for HP, stacked with 13% cashrewards, which brings the price down from $1609 to $1169

That drops this budget laptop down into cheapo territory, alongside to the popular Acer Nitro 5. But hopefully better, because I got this one instead. Specs and such seem to be quite similar to the Omen deal too. Main difference is the 3060 instead of 3070, and more screen wobble. As well as overall lower quality, as a budget model.

With the same discounts, there's also a 3050Ti for under $1k and Omen with 6600M for around $1350

AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (95 I believe)
40.9 cm (16.1") diagonal, FHD (1920 x 1080), 144 Hz, 7 ms response time, IPS, micro-edge, anti-glare, Low Blue Light, 250 nits, 100% sRGB
512 GB PCIe® NVMe™ TLC M.2 SSD
16 GB DDR4-3200 MHz RAM (2 x 8 GB)
2.46 kg

It's a big deal for amex users, unlucky for me.

  • Hard to justify the $600 premium over the $999 deal (expired).

Even with Amex, $350 is a quite a lot.

    • Ah the title got edited, I think I was supposed to specify the original price, not just the discounted price.
It's amex and cashrewards, which bring it down to $1170

      • As per Title Guidelines:

Price. May include discount or savings (e.g. “$2 off” or “half price”), if space allows. However, the price should NOT include referral discount/credit, cashback (commission refunds) or gift card discounts - include that in the deal description instead.

        • oops, sorry about that

    • Am I missing something? $999 was 3050ti whereas this one is 3060.

The Lenovo ideapad at 999 was a 3060

        • Ah my mistake, I thought he meant the same HP Victus 16. Thank you for clarifying

  • Is the Omen with 6600M for around $1350 much better than this for $1169?

I spose paying $1169 for a GPU is actually a better deal than the Officeworks deal I have up in December! I doubt I need it, but nice to try Warzone on PC!

Which one has a better screen? Not going to play games so I guess the GeForce not a deal breaker?

  • Jeez thats a amazing price with amex, only a little more than the acer nitro 5, and no need for a ram upgrade

  • The Omen is 3070 Max-Q 125W, 300nits
I was about to bite the bullet today with Omen………..

missed Dell $150 extra shopback cashback (which I could purchase latest 12thGen Intel with 3060, 300nits for $12XX)
    then missed Omen $15XX…..

not so sure about this 250nits :(

The screens on all these cheap laptops suck just fyi. Dim and poor contrast.

    • still better than Dell G15's 120Hz "special"

This one doesn't seem that bad?

      • Actually I am hesitating to choose between the Lenovo one and this HP one. This one will be $130 cheaper after Cashrewards and Amex offer, and the Lenovo one has a better screen and relatively better review than hp one. Errr
