  • Literally bought this 2 days ago for $140 or so. Time to ask for a price adjustment if possible

I have the low profile version in white which I actually love though

  • Don't forget cashback

    • Hmm, is this considered Alienware with 12% cashback, or Accessories with 0% cashback?

      • oh my god you are probably right

  • +1

    The 510 personally is better…

    • +3

For anyone wondering it seems the biggest difference is low profile keys on the 510k vs standard keys on the 410k.
Volume wheel on the 510k, opposed to volume keys on the 410k.

      Also some lighting differences.

  • Great price as usually there is a premium on Alienware branding, this is extremely competitive with other mechanical keyboards under $150.
So tempting to get this as a backup keyboard

    • +1

Don't. Just use a cheapo keyboard as a back up while you wait for a nice replacement keyboard to arrive.

  • Nice price

  • Have had it for over a year and love it.

  • +2

Using 7% off coupon from https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/662785 should bring it down to $107.74

    • that link says its expired?

      • +1

Worked for me ordering backpack today. Just follow the instructions, it should work.

        • Did you try the 20% off as well or just the 7%?

  • Is this a quiet mechanical keyboard?

    • +3

brown isn't the quietest switch type but it also isn't the loudest. it's somewhere in the middle. i definitely wouldn't call it quiet.

    • If it's anything like the previous generation, little thought was given to case acoustics, as the key ping reverberates inside the bottom case unless you open it and fill it with foam. Drove me nuts, didn't annoy my wife when I gave it to her. YMMV.

Keys themselves are standard Kaihl-style browns. They don't "make" noise like blue switches, but there's a certain level of operating noise, which is on the higher-pitched end. Would probably annoy people in a quiet office if you bottom out.

  • So what's so good about this keyboard compared to the branded keyboards around the $115 price range (Corsair k60, Razer blackwidow v3, Hyper x alloy , Keychron, logitech..etc)?.

    • -1

Nothing much? You're paying a premium for the branding, more than anything else.

  • Dont have an account with Dell, is there any special deals for first time sign ons / account creation? Like referrals etc or nothing?

  • Damn it just got cheaper!!!! https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/709996

    • Ouch ! Did you place the order at Dell? Try cancelling it if possible.

      • I think its already been shipped :( . Got an email at 5pm today saying its been shipped. Probably nothing has been done but created a shipping order but still probably too late. Sucks.
