My daughter wanted a Kindle so I was planning to get one from Amazon US. But when I went to Woolies this morning, I remembered that they were selling the Kindle. I asked the price and it was just $97 which is lower than the US$109 that Amazon is asking and I don't have to pay for delivery.

Update 30/05/2012: Seems like it's still on sale. Call your local Woolies first to see if it's in stock. They are kept at the service desk.

-Kindle Gen 3 w/ keyboard, WiFi & 3G = $149.95

    Damn, I cant find any kindles anywhere, i bought the Kindle 4 a week ago but that was only because the guy in front of my bought the last kindle 3 wifi with keyboard, which is the one i think i really want.

    So is there any point for me to keep looking for the old Kindle or should i just stick with the Kindle 4 I bought from them? Also has there been any woolies store to stock any covers with lights for the Kindle 4? I know they have had them for the kindle 3.

    There's plenty of kindle 3 and 4 at Burwood Plaza Woolworths 2134 store but they might be clueless when you ask for one at the service desk and they're stored in their office downstairs and not behind the desk like other stores have it. They also have stock of the normal leather covers but not the ones with the light which I am looking for.

    Anybody know any locations in Sydney with the covers with light for the Kindle 4 ? Or if anybody has had success with jobics's receipt for a price match at Big W ?

    Woolies has dropped the price! i just took back my broken kindle keyboard wifi and they only had 3g in stock scanned it up and it's now $109 down from the $149 they were previously discounted as. also the wifi keyboard is now $79 if you can find stock!!!!
    ps they swapped it over no questions and I'm happy to pay the $14 diff to get the 3g model :)

      Kindle keyboard wifi only comes up as $79 in the woolies app, save $80, on sale until the 26th. Leather cover is now $17. Anybody find any covers with the light?

        Still looking, realised now i want 3G instead of wifi only. Am after a case with a light as well. Any idea how the light works, what type of batteries it uses?

          Kindle just slots in and the light is powered by the actual kindle

          Oh really? Didnt realise, thats not bad, although i assume that means the battery of the kindle runs down faster but still a handy feature.

    Any wollies in Sydney have the Kindle Touch?? How much is it? I bought a kobo touch and it's a POS!! touch screen is very erratic… :( I wanna refund it and get a kindle touch instead!

      They only have the 3 mentioned as i think they are trying to get rid of old stock as the new kindles are about to be released any day now and i believe they come with new features including lights built into the kindle itself.

      If you think the Kobo touch is erratic wait till you try the Kindle touch. I have the Kobo and you just have to get used to it.

    There are a few keyboard 3G and WiFi left at Greensborough (VIC). They also have some covers - unfortunately, no covers with light. There are 4 WiFi ones at Eltham.

    For those in outer west Melbourne both of the Woolworth's in the Watergardens shopping centre had at least 1 Wifi as of Wednesday.

      I just bought two Kindles (3G - $109) and cases (without light - $17),from Safeway in Frankston Victoria. Had to go to three stores. Some staff didn't even know they sold Kindles, and none were aware of the sale. In case anyone is still looking.
