wow..that's an all time low by Amex!!

  • +1

I am thinking it is targeted - nothing on my platinum edge card.

    • not on my Explorer too..

    • I have it on my Platinum Edge.

Damn.. these used to be spend $20 and get $10 statement credits back (x5)

    • 10x before that

  • +4

Wow, glad I cancelled my AMEX. Not worth the annual fee.

    • Get the essential. No annual fees.

      • Not bothered. Reward points are more important to me. Even Coles Mastercard is better.

        • Which card provider did you end up with? I always thought Amex were pretty alright since they give me back the annual fee $ by travel credits anyway.

          • +1

@jezza p: Coles Mastercard is what I ended up getting. Travel seems less appealing at this moment. but Flybuys points are much more visible, and there are many options to boost the points, buying Coles insurance, which is cheap, double point for first $1000 every month, etc.

            • @Asx10000: What did you mean by buying Coles insurance is cheap? Which insurance is this?

              • +1

@tajid: Well at that time Coles insurance was cheap, in comprehensive car.

  • Nothing on my cards (DJs Amex, standard Elevate and Velocity Escape)

  • Not on Essentials account

    • +1

Ditto! And the $50 spend is going to be less attractive compared to previous years.

  • "in one transaction" seems a bit steep, that strikes out hospitality businesses.

  • +2

    Wow.. not even gonna check.
    Amex going down hill.

  • Nothing on my Explorer

  • 10% cashback. WOW

  • Nothing at all.

  • Offers definitely going downhill.

But I've used their insurance and recouped a fair amount (500) this year.

    • Was it easy to recoup from Amex?

      • Read the pds and prepare everything they need. No issues.

Sometimes they can take 3-4 weeks to sort out, but eventually sorted

  • Nothing on my cards. Those good old days are gone.

  • +1

Thats like a slap in the face

  • I got Maccas, spend $25 get $5 back…

  • On my platinum reserve, but not platinum charge

    • Not appearing on either my platinum reserve or charge.

  • +1

    Every year it gets worse

  • Nothing on my Explorer either.
Time to use my Ampol spend $60 get $5 offer and my reward points and move on.

  • +7

looking forward to next years spend $100 get $0 back upto 4 times.

    • +4

That offer is already available every day!

  • +1

Now Amex is taking the piss and damaging their brand in the eyes of those who use 'Offers'. Small business purchases tend to be small value purchases.

  • Yeah this is a bad deal for those who got it. I didn’t get it on either of my cards.

  • +3

Wow, Amex has really lowered the standards for their offers now. No one is getting offers anymore!!!

  • +1

Can someone explain to me why the world has to get worse every year? I mean this used to be spend $20 get $10 back ten times in the good old days.

    • +1

Well the world has got worse this year with Russia invading Ukraine.

      • Started with a country not containing a virus, and everything just snowballed from there.

  • +2

This is an insult. It would be better to cancel it completely.

    • I cancelled my platinum edge
Not worth it anymore. Pathetic offers
