Just a word of advice for anybody who was familiar with the first iteration: here are the changes to the V2:
- Shell material not as nice
- Collar not lined any more. Used to be nice soft material all the way around, but not any longer
- Zip flap (the part that covers the zip all the way down used to be lined, but not any longer
- For the vest: Instead of a separate little stuff sack to pack it into, you pack the jacket into its own inner pocket. Not sure for the jacket.
- Zip pulls used to be premium plastic and looked the part, but are now just some cord knotted to the metal zip.It's still a very warm jacket and the down is responsibly sourced, so it's still great value at this price.

I’ve tried both the XS men’s in the version one and version two. Sleeve length is the same hence why the use of Velcro to hold in place. I bought one of the clearance XS last week and compared directly to the v2 in store. Comments above are accurate. It just appears that they have cut corners to reduce the cost of the product whilst competing with recyclable materials marketing credentials.

The vest version of this is one of the best things I've ever purchased.
I keep hesitating on the vest as I can't bring myself to spend more on it than the jacket. It just doesn't seem right lol.
Be aware this V2 is much tighter under the arms and around the chest than the V1. They've changed the design and stitching to allow it to fold up into itself.
I wear a Large in V1 and even the XL in V2 was too tight under the arms despite it being huge around the waist.
Macpac said they've had a lot of feedback that V1 is a much better fit for most people so will probably be going back to it for V3. Just be aware and try on if possible.
