KREG Pocket Hole Jig System KR-K4 $79 + $8.04 Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Total Tools

530

Here we go, the price has been reduced again. (Looks like they are going to discontinue this model) Plenty of stock in NSW stores.

Previous post: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/694388

Note that no free shipping for clearance items even ordered over $99, at least in my case.

UPDATE:

My order has been cancelled by Total Tools. Despite the fact, that I placed my order before posting this deal, they said they don't have the stock to fulfil my order. I understand they prioritise walk-in purchases but they shouldn't lie about the stock level. I rarely shop from Total tools and Sydney tools these days, and this would be my last time to order from TT. I personally recommend Discount Trader (VIC) & Trade Tools (QLD) if ordering online.

If you are going to order from them, make sure to call the shop first to avoid disappointment. Remember ultimately you are dealing with the shop, not the website.

i must admit i'm considering buying a 2nd one purely so i can keep larger boards stable, and also put multiple holes in without repositioning the board too

    • lol never thought of that but i imagine it would be super handy if batching panels!

  • None in my local area, but Sydney tools price matched.

  • doesn't bunnings sell these too?

    • Yep, they don't seem to stock the K4 anymore, they sell the 320 for $76. K4 is a great model for people who know they would use pocket holes alot.

    • They did. Paid $50 at Bunnings from the clearance rack.

      • Wtf I just paid $74 from discount rack at Bunnings

The trick is to pick one from the discount rack and put it in the clearance rack. It's an easy way to save $24!

@Justtip: Ok literally this morning they had them for $50 clearance. So I took my boxed one from the car and got a $25 refund haha

Check previous thread for link to $40 clearance receipt. My local bunnies was happy to price match. Good hunting.

i need a new hole in my pocket. bought.

    • must like fiddling through a hole in his trouser pocket.

  • +2

Thanks OP I don't need it but I bought it anyways, like a good OZ Bargainer.

  • Can you use this to drill holes at perfect 90 degrees angle?

  • Looks like something that'll help with a job I need to do around the house.
Thanks. I think I'll get one.

  • Why not just screw the piece from the other side? I guess it's useful when you don't have access, but is it more for aesthetic reasons?

    • +1

Generally more for aesthetic reason as this isn't as strong as screwing from the sides.

    • +1

Are you suggesting screwing from the back into the end grain? If so that would not be strong as this technique as end grain does not hold nails or screws very well.

      • Yeah, I did that to put a safety rail on bunck beds, used a dowel and screw, it worked fine for my purpose although now that you mention it the screw over time was pushed out a little and I had to tighten it up (over 3 years or so

    • i remember watching a youtube video many moons ago that came to the conclusion that dowels were stronger than pocket holes and mortise/tenon joints the best

  • Anyone coming down to Tassie these holidays and feel like bringing me one? No stock at all as usual haha T_T

    • why not just get it delivered?

      • Because I don't think they ship clearance items, straight up I got a "Clearance product out of stock." message when I select delivery.

  • I got this for $30 yesterday at bunnings. Been waiting for weeks for this to be reduced down so I could get it for cheaper. I was very lucky and they had one in stock so they gave it to me at a lower price to get rid of it. Doesn’t seem any other bunnings has stock. Was my lucky day

  • The kreg k4 is down to $30 at my Bunnings too (Cannon Hill). 6 left in stock this morning but they were up on a shelf so might go fast once they get moved down

    • thanks you for the heads up! i grabbed the last one (i think) off the mark downs table. i was undecided at $79 but at $30 i decide to give it a go
