    • Oh my I think I may just jump on that G1 price seems pretty good.

    77A80J. Amazing set, awesome price.

  • +1

I was holding out for a C1/C2 deal.. but you can't go past that price.

  • Bought it on Monday, was about to pickup tomorrow from JB Hi-Fi store, now will ask for Price Adjustment as well and get the refund while collecting the A80J 77" and will be even happier.

    • What’s the story about price adjustments if you collected the tv last week? I got the LG G2 for $3250 but is now sub $3k. What are my chances?

      • +1

        According to this page: https://checkpricematch.com/jb-hi-fi-price-match-and-return-…

Does JB Hi-Fi have a Price Adjustment Policy?
Price adjustment is a policy designed to refund the difference in price if an item you purchased goes on sale within a certain timeframe after your purchase.

At JB Hi-Fi, they want you to feel confident in the price you paid for your products, so they offer a price adjustment policy on most items if prices go down within 14 days of your original purchase.

To request a price adjustment, simply bring your proof of purchase and receipt to any JB Hi-Fi store. The team member will be able to help you with the rest.

If the price of an item you ordered at JB Hi-Fi goes down after you ordered it, you will get a store credit, some free things, or a refund when you pick up the product.

They have a two week price guarantee although some people have claimed up to one month

        • Thanks everyone, will see how I go tomorrow. Incredible sales.

          • @mjae01: Update, took less than 5 minutes but I am now $350+ richer, great result.

$400 more expensive than the infamous Sony education store price…..but of course not available for everyone.

    • how can you see the edu price? what is edu price for A90J 83" ?

    • That's deal is no longer available right?

  • -1

    What's the best buy here?

  • Can I price match with Sony then use the 10% Cashrewards that is ending tonight. ?

    • Doesn't look like the 77" is on the Sony AU website anymore. :o

  • -1

that's been the JB Business/Commercial price for a while. LG C2 83" is $7436 atm, is LG worth the extra $1k compared to sony ones?

    • +1

you'd be hard pressed to argue for the C2 being $1000 more, no heatsink and image processing still not on par with sonys top of the line.

  • Having issues with checking out with delivery. No stock in Canberra but I assumed I could get it delivered. Getting this comment.

'The basket is not available for delivery to your selected address. Please remove the item(s), or enter a different address.'

Guess I have to go in tomorrow morning and see what they say

    • if there's no stock in your area I don't fancy your chances.

Might be worth googling other stores who have stock in your area and trying the price match route

    • Out of stock for canberra

  • I bought the 77A80J 2 days ago. Should I pay 1k more and change it to the LG C2 77inch? Is it worth it?
    Thanks

    • Who is selling you c2 77" under $5k?

      • Sorry 1k more.

        • +2

          On the same boat.
          I wouldn't go for the C2 with 1k more.
I thought about going for the 83" A80J, but still being 2k difference, I decided it's not worth it for only 16% difference in size.

          • @ElectroFoX: I'll try haggle the A90j 83 to 6k and then i'll add 5% work discount on top, which will be $1500 extra.

          • +1

@ElectroFoX: Agree 2K is a big difference but size aside you're also getting a unit with sonys best image processing, higher peak brightness and heatsink.

            • @Osiris: The A90J and A80J have exactly the same image processing.

The differences between the two are:
              - size
              - A90J has improved audio (but still not better than a good soundbar or standalone hifi)
              - higher peak brightness
              - different screen coating

              • @Astronaut Joe: 12min mark. A90J has an updated panel and metallic heatsink.

                a90j review
                https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0t5s5eQ38k&t=1368s

                • @Osiris: The A90 and 77" A80 share the same evo panel (different size, obviously). Vincent's comparison above used the 65" A80J which, at that time at least in the US, didn't use that panel.

The higher peak brightness is because of the heatsink.

So, my list still stands as the relevant differences.

(to be picky, the 83" stand differs to the A80, and the A90 gets the metallic backlit remote, but those aren't operational differences)

      • -1

        I can if you're in WA lol c2 77" under 5k

  • 83” C2 or A90J for 1k less?

    • +1

      A90j

      • Thx

      • +1

A90J stand does not lift it off the cabinet much right? I am worried my sound bar in front of the A90J will block a fair bit of the lower part of the screen :(

  • Any chance of HN price match n bonus advertised credit on top of that? Thoughts pls.

  • World's two best tvs are not listed on website - S95b and A95k
Shame both are limited to 55 & 65 size though.

    • +2

S95B - Not having Dolby Vision, and also fudging test numbers… definitely not one of the two best tvs.

Bought the 83". Been waiting for a good deal since missing the Sony Education store back in April

  • +1

    Thanks OP. Bought the 83".

Bought gift card from shopback 2.5% off. Don't forget JB $10 coupon. lol https://www.jbhifi.com.au/pages/perks

    • How many gift card can be used online? $1500 max on SB so will need min 4. All went through?

      • I used 6 JB e-gift cards. All went through.

        • Value of each e-gift card and where did you buy from? did you make purchase online?

          • +1

@amsaini15: I purchased $5000 worth via RewardGateway (benefit/service provided by my employer, $5k was max they’d let me do in a day), which ended up being issued as 5x $1000 e-gift cards. 5% discount.

I “topped up” the residual $1.4k via Macquarie Marketplace (https://www.macquarie.com.au/digital-banking/marketplace.htm…). 3% discount.

TV (A90J) purchased online on JB’s website.

        • Thanks, good to know

  • +1

Great deal on the 77"! I bought the 65" at about $3250, if 77" was this price back then I would have stretched!

  • Spewing. Bought the Sony 77" for 4.9k with the $500 gift card offer. Guess it kinda works out ot he the same but now I'm forced to spend another $500 at jb

  • I have been waiting for a deal for a while..thank you for the post.
I'm still confused if the Sony a80j is better than C1…but I don't game much or watch sport so think I understood for general watching/movies etc..the Sony wins out.

Also this would go on a wall with a few large windows - is there legit real world issues with OLEDs and reflections etc?

Any views appreciated. Been 7 yrs since a tv purchase

  • Do you guys reckon the price for LG C2 77" (current $5436) will come down in Black Friday sale?

  • Any links to the best offer on discounted gift cards currently running. Perhaps for Harvey Norman or JB hi-fi please?

  • I bought this tv from good guys two weeks ago for 5500. I also got the gold concierge membership. I call them twice today trying to do the 120% price guarantee within 30 days and they mention they don’t price guarantee on sale prices. Does anyone have any experience with this ? Been going back and forth but seems like I just have to accept paying the 1100 difference

      • Yeah Spoke to concierge twice and two other departments. Sales and online. Got no where and they keep saying under their terms price gaurantee doesn’t Incluse sale prices

        • Really strange that you weren't able to get price guarantee. I bought a fridge from TGG and then used the Gold Concierge to get the 120% difference of the new sale price. On a separate occasion, I bought a TV and the price went down a few days later after being delivered but we hadn't opened it yet. I complained that the price had gone down (I was under the impression Gold Concierge applied to all items in the purchase, not just one item… wasn't explained to me properly at the time), so I said over the phone I was going to return and refund the product. They said they'd just refund the difference.

          • @tonichi: Don’t know what to do , been trying a few calls with no success. It’s now reduced on their site also.

  • What’s the lowest price that you have managed to haggle it down?

  • Sony has price matched. Free delivery.

    • A80J seems to be OOS, A90J still available. Thanks mate.

  • This is now cheaper on the good guys eBay $6130 delivered with eBay promo code PLUSJULY1

I bought the A90j 83inch from JB hi Fi yesterday for $5996. JB added aud400 gift card on top as I price matched with Harvey Norman offers.

    • Can you upload your receipt so I can try to get that price too?
      Blur out personal details

    • crazy good deal well done

    • Wow. How did you get it for $5,996.00? Harvey had it for $7195 plus the $400 gift card.

      • +1

I just asked JB hi Fi if they can provide $400 gift card with the price $6396, they agreed as I mentioned Harvey is having this deal and willing to price match.

        • +1

Then state that… You paid $6396 you didn't get it for $5996 🤦‍♂️

  • Did anyone take a screenshot of the sale price and the date , jb hi fi or good guys. I need it as I’m still going back and forth with good guys.
