Snapware Pyrex Glass Container Set 18 Piece $39.99 @ Costco, In-Store (Membership Required)

190

$55 online but on special at my local Costco for $40 yesterday. Amazon is $80, and eBay $66.
Unsure if in-store at other locations. Can always call.

This Snapware set is made of Pyrex tempered glass, which is safe to use in both the microwave and oven. The lids are airtight to keep food fresher longer, yet are easy to put on and take off. Plus, you can write on the lids to eliminate the guesswork of what's inside then erase and reuse.

This set comes with two 224ml containers, two 883ml containers, two 950ml containers, two 473ml containers, and one 1.4L container. Each container comes with a lid

      What?

Made in USA so unfortunately should be pyrex

Love it. Didn’t think many people knew about this!

For those not knowing, look it up. Lowercase pyrex is made in the USA using a different type of glass. It can’t withstand temperature shocks (e.g. fridge to oven I think), but it is safer when it breaks.

Uppercase PYREX is made in France I think, using a different type of glass. Can withstand temperature shocks and Dan withstand higher temps in the oven.

I think uppercase PYREX is generally regarded as better.

You often see them side by side in the supermarket, strangely. Not just a marketing change in logo!

      • Yeah USA version, should be fine for microwaving leftovers. But sounds like you have to remember not to put them on cold water or in fridge when hot.

        Excellent @wormarts

        Thanks for the info 👍

      • I think its Borosilicate glass that you want to look for

So sad companies consider lids as separate pieces.

    • At least they are not making you buy them separately like some storage containers.

    • Feels dystopian that it would make a difference to someone's purchasing decision.. 18 pieces zomg!!

    • agreed. the top and bottom combined is 1 piece. this is truly a 9 piece set.

  • Could anyone please kindly have a look of the in-store price in VIC? thanks.
