No need for digital radio after you hear and feel the quality of this!

There are no plans at this stage to switch off AM and FM radio services - digital radio is not a replacement for analog radio.

  • So you're trying to sell a non digital radio, just because of feel of the exterior… There's still going to be static that you don't get from a digital tuner…

    • have you ever tuned and heard a tivoli?

  • +1

    are you a rep?

    • no - wdyt - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/user/29011/nodes :)

just someone who likes to buy/find good stuff cheap and let others know - aka ozbargainer :)

      • fair enough - just seemed a bit light on the details

what do they normally sell this for? Is this a bargain or every day price?

Since you're an ozbargainer, you know how much we like those kinds of details :-)

what details would you like? product link was provided

        • wow - so helpful - really contributes to the community

again - what makes this a good bargain?

        • -1

product: some regard tivoli as the best table radios - the rolex equivalent

price: did you notice the price elsewhere? as with rolex, rarely discounted by much

are you only a baby ozbargainer? do you need to be spoonfed details?

While it's tempting to reply to your insult, I'm just going to ignore it.

I was simply looking for more details on the bargain, as you post was light on the kind of information that is usually provided on on the better posts made on the site. Even after your edits, you still haven't said much other than it's a nice radio

Google cache of this site shows that the price was the same 10 days ago, so I suspect that this is their regular price and not particularly a bargain

          http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:vyI1T8M…

Now, this may still be a great price compared to what others sell it for - I don't know, that's why I was asking. That's what we do in the discussions on this site, we discuss the deal and its relative merits

          again, what kind of details/information?

Even after your edits, you still haven't said much other than it's a nice radio

what more would you like me to say?

a regular price is not a bargain? officeworks prices are all regular yet can be bargains

Now, this may still be a great price compared to what others sell it for - I don't know, that's why I was asking.

          and i answered http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/71202#comment-888894

a great price bargain can be an everyday regular price compared to others elsewhere

  • As a previous owner of Tivoli products I can tell you that their sound & build quality is second to none and if you're after a high-end product like this then this is a bargain but pointless if you're just after a generic plastic box AM/FM radio. Problem is that it's difficult convincing others of the value, like trying to get someone to buy a Lexus IS250 when they've already made up their mind to buy a top-of-the-range Corolla. They are different cars but it's very difficult for some to see the value in paying the extra $20k so in the end it's up to the individual. I had a Tivoli system for 5 years and really enjoyed it but ended up selling it as I found a better solution for my particular needs. Each to their own… and BTW, I own a top-end Corolla as I personally can't see the value in a Lexus IS250 :) Happy OzBargaining!

No doubt that's a good price, however there's some very average reviews for this device on amazon.com… and not just the average crazy who didn't know he had to remove the product from the packaging before it would start making noise.

    • Yeah wow… it's been a while since I had my Model Three Clock Radio plus many of its associated devices & accessories but you're right those reviews don't look very good at all. Big shame if this is the case because they used to be amazing products… expensive sure but amazing nevertheless.

      • +1 i've never had or heard of any issues with tivoli until reading those reviews - interesting

    • rofl at 10-year "aluminum" anniversary, seems appropriate

Pretty niche product, it's not like audiophiles would listen to analogue radio

      • sorry but that's not quite right - given that digital radio is only available in capital cities, those audiophiles in regional areas have no alternative to analogue when listening to radio :)

  • +2

If I wanted to listen to good sounding FM I would do it through my tuner which is connected to my entertainment system. Quality sound in an alarm clock is wasted on me. I just want it to wake me up.

  • Can someone show me how to get the $149 price? Website is showing $249. Thanks.
